Egypt's Grand Mufti Meets Pakistani Ambassador to Discuss Religious Cooperation

H-Tayea The Ambassador of Pakistan to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Aamir Shouket, met today with the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Nazir Mohammed Ayyad, at Dar Al-Ifta in Cairo. The meeting underscored the strong and longstanding religious and cultural ties between Pakistan and Egypt. During the cordial discussion, Ambassador Aamir Shouket conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of the Government and people of Pakistan to the Grand Mufti. He expressed appreciation for the respected role that Al-Azhar scholars have played in promoting the true and moderate values of Islam around the world. The Ambassador also noted with satisfaction the continuing cooperation between the two countries in the field of religious education and scholarship. Both sides engaged in a thoughtful exchange on contemporary issues affecting the Muslim world. They identified hate speech and rising intolerance as significant threats to global peace and interfaith harmony, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts in promoting understanding and mutual respect. Grand Mufti Dr. Nazir Ayyad welcomed the Ambassador and expressed his deep respect for Pakistan, describing it as a valued and influential Muslim nation. He recalled his recent official visit to Pakistan, during which he met with senior leadership, including the Prime Minister. Egypt's Mufti Condemns Israeli Occupation Forces' Unacceptable West Bank Attack

He described the attack as a flagrant violation of diplomatic norms and a blatant breach of international law. He affirmed that this incident is part of a continuous pattern of systematic violations committed by the occupation forces, including deliberate killings, starvation, and forced displacement—acts which he described as a form of genocide.
