Netflix Virgin River fans come up with wild Dallas dream theory about Jack

Netflix Virgin River fans have come up with a mind-blowing theory that could change the way viewers see the entire show.. A mind-blowing theory is gaining traction from fans of Netflix Virgin River - and it could change the way we see the entire series. The idea, originally posted on Reddit, suggests that the scenic town of Virgin River and its cast of beloved characters might not be real at all. Instead, the claim suggests that everything we're watching is happening inside Jack Sheridan's mind, because he never made it home from Iraq. ‌ A social media took to the site and wrote: "Okay, hear me out. What if Virgin River isn't real - not in the way we think. What if everything we're seeing is happening in Jack's mind… because he's still in Iraq, badly wounded or in a coma? ‌ "Here's the theory: Jack never made it home. The entire series is his brain trying to construct a version of peace, love, and redemption - a kind of mental escape from the horrors of war." We know from the show that Jack served in the US Marines as a sergeant but eventually left his position when he lost one of his Marines, Christopher, in the battlefield. Throughout the series he struggles with the loss and suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). But the fan theory would mean that Jack never made it back to Virgin River and is still on the battlefield, possibly unconscious, and everything we've seen in the six-part series has all been in his head. The fan had a five-pronged approach to prove their theory and came up with these points: life in Virgin River is too "perfect"; Mel is the "emotional anchor" Jack wishes he had; time and logic are "flexible"; Jack's PTSD moments aren't "just memories", they are "cracks in the illusion" and, finally, Jack has never been seen to leave the area, though other characters have. ‌ The theory even goes as far to imagine how the show might end, with Jack waking up in a hospital bed as the world of Mel, Doc and the bar all fade away being their top choice. "Jack never left Iraq. Virgin River is a coping mechanism, a dream world he's trapped in while his body lies somewhere, waiting to wake up,or not. And if this theory is true, the final episode of the series could end with him waking up in a hospital bed, surrounded by machines - realising Mel, Preacher, and the bar never existed," the fan continued. ‌ The theory sparked intense reaction online, with some fans over the moon with the idea. One replied: "I love this construct. You should join the writers team to save the series!" A second stated: "Omg this is absolutely crazy," and a third chimed in: "I like it, especially your first point. No one in the show, except maybe Doc, could probably afford to live there." A fourth said: "Maybe this is possible. And when he wakes up the nurse will be so familiar to him," and another view simply stated: "That just blows my mind." ‌ But not everyone was impressed by the theory, as one fan said: "Could be but I'd be more than upset! I hate when shows pull that stuff." Another viewer pointed out the strong female connections, highlighting that it could never be imagined by a male, saying: "I don't think it is all Jack's dream. The female friendship dynamics are pretty spot on. I don't think a male would dream that with such accuracy unless he had a ton of sisters!"
