Lorry crashes into car in Wolverhampton after driver taken ill
A lorry crashed into a car in Wolverhampton after the driver of the HGV became unwell behind the wheel. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and an air ambulance attended the scene on Penn Road at 09:14 BST on Friday, where three people were treated. The driver of the car was taken to New Cross Hospital for potentially serious injuries, while a boy was assessed by paramedics and discharged at the scene. West Midlands Ambulance Service said the lorry driver had suffered a suspected medical episode and following treatment, was also taken to hospital. Woman hit by bus in Wolverhampton taken to hospital
A pedestrian hit by a bus has been taken to hospital in the West woman, who had been struck on Devon Road in Wolverhampton at about 09:55 BST, had injuries that were not thought to be serious, the ambulance service was taken to New Cross Hospital in the city for further Midlands Roads said the street was blocked in both directions after the incident and asked people to allow extra time to travel. Volunteers display medical memorabilia in Wolverhampton hospital
Oxygen spectacles and a baby's banana bottle all form part of an exhibition of historic medical artefacts to be shown to patients at Wolverhampton's New Cross will take the handling collection around the wards from 2 to 8 June in a scheme which has been funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Some of the items are from the former Royal Hospital, which closed in 1997, and Wolverhampton-based chemist Reade Brothers and Company."The bottle comes with its own story, and once the story is told, it unlocks memories and anecdotes or sparks questions, and a broad range of topics are explored, ranging from sustainability to social history," said volunteer Helen Statham.
