Jason Kelce: Chiefs' Josh Simmons 'Closest Thing I've Seen' to Trent Williams
The Kansas City Chiefs invested in the trenches in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, selecting Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons with the No. 32 pick after trading back one spot with the Philadelphia Eagles. Ironically, a former six-time All-Pro center for the Eagles – with his own connection to the Chiefs – thinks the world of Simmons, offering up a bold pro comparison for the tackle. "I've watched a lot of these linemen coming out the last few years. This kid, I mean, he is the closest thing I've seen to like a Trent Williams — like that next level strength and athleticism," Jason Kelce said about Simmons on the latest edition of "New Heights." "The only reason he fell to you guys is because of that injury." Simmons spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career at San Diego State, red-shirting in 2021 and primarily playing right tackle. After transferring to Ohio State in 2023, Simmons became the school's left tackle, starting all 13 games at the position in 2023 and then the first six games of 2024 before suffering a knee injury. Still, he was named an honorable All-Big Ten mention by the conference coaches and is expected to be ready for training camp. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Simmons is one of two new offensive tackles for the Chiefs, who also signed former San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Jaylon Moore to a two-year, $30 million deal this offseason. As for the comparison, Williams is a three-time All-Pro and 11-time Pro Bowler who figures to be a First Ballot Hall of Famer. The star offensive tackle has spent the past five seasons with the 49ers, which was preceded by nine seasons with Washington (2010-18); he sat out the 2019 season due to a trade request. Last season, Williams ranked sixth among offensive tackles with an 85.6 overall grade, according to Pro Football Focus. Simmons joins a Chiefs team that lost to the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. Disgraced NFL legend Antonio Brown blasted by fans for vulgar Jason Kelce post
Controversial ex-NFL star Antonio Brown has sparked outrage once again after sharing a vile message about Jason Kelce 's work for an autism charity. Brown, who is currently wanted by police on an attempted murder charge after wielding a gun in a shocking brawl last month, has become notorious for his offensive social media antics since his NFL career came to an end in 2022. And this week the Super Bowl-winning wide receiver has caused more contention by mocking Kelce about 'getting naked' to raise money for 'retarded kids'. The Philadelphia Eagles legend was spotted at an Autism Foundation Event for his former team this week, where he went viral for turning up in a rainbow-themed hat, a crop top and speedos with the colors of the American flag. Brown has received a backlash after quoting a picture of his outfit and writing: 'jason kelce getting naked for retarded kids but i'm the crazy one…' One user replied to the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player: 'chill out with that'. Brown has become notorious for his offensive and insulting social media posts in recent years 'AB you can f**k right off,' said another before adding, 'the words retarded shouldn't be used here'. While another commented: 'Kelce's a legend, no need to hate'. At the start of 2024, Kelce's younger brother Travis described Brown as one of his 'favorite follows' on Twitter (now X) despite the controversy he frequently whips up. After being referred to as one of his 'dopest crackers', Travis said on his and Jason's New Heights podcast: 'I appreciate you AB, man. Feels good to be one of the dopest crackers,' Travis replied, while laughing. 'I love that s***. He's one of my favorite follows on twitter, you've got to follow him.' Miami-Dade County police are looking to arrest Brown on an attempted murder charge as a result of a shooting at a boxing event last month in Florida. The Florida warrant was signed by a judge earlier this month and requires the former football star to post $10,000 bond and remain under house arrest pending a trial, according to court files provided to Daily Mail. The Washington Post was first to report the existence of the warrant for attempted second-degree murder, which carries a penalty of up to 15 years behind bars in Florida. As seen in shocking viral video from a celebrity boxing event in Miami last month, Brown appeared to pull out a gun as he ran back towards a skirmish. Shots are then heard off camera as frightened onlookers flee the area. The 36-year-old was dragged to the floor by a man who, it later emerged, was a member of security trying to protect him. No victims emerged at the time, so Brown wasn't arrested. Instead when viral video of the incident surfaced online, Brown claimed he was the victim of an attempted robbery: 'Regarding the boxing event that happened last night. I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me.' However, the other combatant told Daily Mail a different story last month. That man, Zül-Qarnaįn Nantambu, instead claimed the troubled former NFL star instigated the violent incident and personally fired the shots, possibly in response to a legal battle between the two in federal bankruptcy court.

Jason Kelce: Chiefs rookie Josh Simmons reminds me of Trent Williams
Chiefs first-round pick Josh Simmons was limited in his offseason work as he continues to work his way back from the knee injury that ended his final season at Ohio State, but the offensive tackle did enough work to make an impression on tight end Travis Kelce. Kelce said on his New Heights podcast that Simmons stood in as a scout team defensive end during a recent practice and that he felt 'I gotta come with it' when Simmons put his hands on him. Kelce's brother and co-host Jason knows quite a bit about playing the offensive line and said 'watching the tape [of Simmons] in college was absurd' and made a lofty comparison when sharing what player the rookie resembled in that tape. 'I've watched a lot of these linemen coming out the last few years,' Kelce said. 'This kid, I mean, he is the closest thing I've seen to like a Trent Williams — like that next level strength and athleticism. The only reason he fell to you guys is because of that injury.' Left tackle was a weak spot for the Chiefs last season and the dam broke once and for all in their Super Bowl loss to the Eagles. If Simmons can plug that hole, the Chiefs will be well positioned for another long run this year.

Chiefs' Trey Smith exposes Travis Kelce's behaviour, calls him crazy and psycho
Trey Smith shared insights into his relationship with Travis Kelce (Getty Images) Kansas City Chiefs guard Trey Smith recently lifted the curtain on what it's really like to be teammates with Travis Kelce—and the story is as chaotic as it is heartwarming. Speaking on the New Heights podcast hosted by Jason and Travis Kelce , Smith recalled the first time he encountered the star tight end during offseason workouts. Trey Smith opens up about Travis Kelce's wild energy and surprising kindness 'Just crazy energy,' Trey Smith said when asked about his first impression of Travis Kelce. 'I was like, 'Oh, he's awful—I love this guy.'' The moment set the tone for a relationship built on fierce competition and genuine brotherhood, one that Smith said helped define his rookie year. 'I tackled you, slapping your helmet in the end zone 'cause you're just psycho, bro,' Smith joked, referencing a game where Kelce scored twice and hyped up the team with his trademark enthusiasm. While the intensity is real, so is the compassion. Smith, a sixth-round draft pick in 2021, recalled how Kelce went out of his way to make him feel welcome. 'The one thing I can speak about—especially as like a sixth-round draft pick, young guy—was just how kind you were, bro,' he said. 'And you don't have to be that way. And how you really care for people, and you're not afraid to give out your heart, right?' That humility and emotional generosity, Smith said, meant the world. 'You never mistreated me or just sort of wrote me off… it was always just like that for years, man.' Kelce, clearly touched by the comments, responded, 'I appreciate it, dog. Means the most coming from you, brother.' Old college scars and mutual respect deepen the bond Trey Smith on Chiefs New Faces, Being Pat Mahomes' Enforcer, and His Wild Path to the NFL | Ep 144 Adding a twist of nostalgia and humor to the conversation, Kelce recalled a painful college memory involving Smith's alma mater, the Tennessee Volunteers. 'We got smoked when I was in college playing Tennessee. Tyler Bray and Cordarrelle Patterson — they got after us a little bit,' he said, pointing to a 2011 beatdown he endured while playing for Cincinnati. Despite the loss, Kelce admitted he respects the football culture in Knoxville, saying, 'The entire city is orange—like everything in sight is orange.' This brotherhood between Kelce and Smith proves that even the fiercest competitors can lead with heart—and a little chaos. Steve Spagnuolo Pokes Fun At Chiefs' Travis Kelce
Steve Spagnuolo Pokes Fun At Chiefs' Travis Kelce originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Travis Kelce will play his 12th and final season in the NFL in 2025. Since entering the league in 2014, few people have the record of accomplishment that he holds to his name, especially at the tight end position. Advertisement Kelce will leave the game as arguably the greatest to every play his position, winning three Super Bowls and holding a number of individual accolades. There's no questioning how bright his star shines on the field. Looking back on his days before reaching the NFL, that excellence did not translate into the classroom. Kelce was far from an exemplary student athlete at Cincinnati, almost losing his scholarship at one point because of his shortcomings there and with some extracurricular activities. He ultimately got his act together, finding his way to maintain a 3.2 GPA that was enough to earn the nod from his coaches to continue his career. All of that is a now well documented story and one he took plenty of lessons from. But it did not save him from catching a lighthearted stray from Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. Advertisement The veteran coach appeared on Travis' "New Heights" podcast, where he took a jab at Kelce. "I value what I call 'football get it,'" Spagnuolo said. "Listen, you don't have to be a 4.0 student in college, I mean, I don't ask about GPAs, right? Trav wouldn't be able to play defense if we were asking about GPAs." That remark caught a hearty laugh from Travis and his brother Jason. Nonetheless, Spagnuolo and Kelce have been instrumental in the construction of this Chiefs dynasty. The coach joined Kansas City's staff in 2019 and has played a part in all three of the Chiefs' Super Bowl wins since then just as Travis has. Advertisement While the two do not work directly together on the practice field, that amount of time together and the heights reached in that time certainly forged some kind of meaningful relationship. All jokes aside, Spagnuolo will try to do everything in his power to have the Chiefs' defense operating at a high level once again to help the team send off Travis the right way.
