Yamhill County Sheriff's deputy shoots, kills Sheridan stabbing suspect who injured 2
A suspect in a stabbing incident in Sheridan was shot and killed by a Yamhill County Sheriff's deputy July 7, police said.
Yamhill County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to reports of a stabbing in the 900 block of Southeast Sheridan Road at about 7 p.m.
A deputy found two people had been stabbed and a suspect was "brandishing" a knife, according to a news release from the Newberg-Dundee Police Department.
The deputy shot the suspect, who died, police said.
One stabbing victim was transported by Life Flight to an area hospital and the other was taken by ambulance, police said.
The Yamhill County Major Crimes Response Team was activated, and the Newberg-Dundee Police Department is investigating the incident.
Newberg-Dundee Police did not release the name of the officer or the deceased. The conditions of the stabbing victims were not immediately known.
The incident appeared to have taken place at or near the Valley's Edge RV Park, according to PulsePoint.
The investigation is ongoing.
