NexG sets up MyNasional Holdings as AI, data intelligence arm
NexG deputy chairman Tan Sri Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman KUALA LUMPUR: NexG Bhd's new subsidiary, MyNasional Holdings Sdn Bhd, will serve as the group's dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) and data intelligence arm, in line with the Digital Economy Blueprint and the national MyDigital ID roadmap. The group said MyNasional is envisioned to play a critical role in supporting the government's digitalisation agenda by delivering trusted, intelligent, and interoperable digital solutions to both public institutions and private sector ecosystems. "The entity will oversee three key focus areas - digital identity and eKYC (electronic-Know Your Customer) verification, business data and corporate intelligence, as well as AI and smart analytics solutions,' it said in a statement today. Through the establishment of a dedicated unit, MyNasional AI, the group aims to lead the development of transformative, next-generation AI solutions. "These offerings will include behavioural analytics, intelligent screening, public safety prediction, and smart city infrastructure such as automated surveillance, digital traffic control, and data-driven resource optimisation. "As Malaysia progresses toward becoming a digitally connected and AI-enabled nation, MyNasional AI is strategically positioned to support cross-agency digital transformation, while offering scalable models for smart city deployment, public service automation, and even exportable AI solutions for regional use,' it said. NexG deputy chairman Tan Sri Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman said that through MyNasional Holdings, the group is setting the stage for Malaysia's next-generation digital trust infrastructure. NexG secures government job extension
PETALING JAYA: NexG Bhd has secured a six-month contract extension from the Home Affairs Ministry (KDN) to continue supplying passport chips to the Immigration Department. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd (DTSB), accepted the letter of extension dated July 2, 2025 for a period of six months from Dec 1, 2025 until May 31, 2026. The first contract was received in December 2015 with an initial value of RM318.75mil over five years, from 2016 to 2021, for a total of 12.5 million chips. The group said there was no change to the contract's ceiling value, quantity or item value. Risks include the state of the overall economy, pandemic crisis, changes in government regulations and operational risks. 'The contract is expected to contribute positively towards the future earnings and net assets per share of DTSB for the financial year ending March 31, 2026 and the financial year thereafter for the duration of the contract.'

NexG acquires properties for RM28.5mil
PETALING JAYA: NexG Bhd is acquiring a two-storey factory, a three-storey office block, a two-storey warehouse and a guardhouse in Petaling Jaya, Selangor from Pixio Sdn Bhd for RM28.5mil. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the security-based information and communications technology solutions provider said the acquisition is part of a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing production capacity and efficiency. NexG also said the acquisition of the properties will ensure the group is able to maintain its competitive edge and scalability as well as enable the company to support its existing and future projects. 'Additionally, by consolidating research, design, and production in the same area, NexG group is able to achieve greater operational efficiency, cost savings, improved quality control, and increased production capacity. 'This integration would also foster innovation and flexibility in product development and strengthen NexG group's market competitiveness.' Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the company expects to complete the acquisition by the fourth quarter of 2025. In a statement, NexG executive chairman and CEO Datuk Hanifah Noordin said the company is achieving further expansion momentum with the acquisition of a factory, office, and warehouse asset strategically located near its PJ 223 Manufacturing Centre. 'This acquisition forms a critical part of our planned RM250mil investment into Industry 4.0 secure ID documents production, to significantly boost our capacity and meet growing international demand for secure identity infrastructure. 'Furthermore, by consolidating our R&D and production activities in the same area, we can achieve greater operational efficiency, cost savings, improved quality control, and increased production capacity. 'Through the strengthening of our production capabilities, along with our substantial investments in AI and other next-generation technologies, we are accelerating NexG's transformation into a regional leader in physical and digital identity markets,' he said.
