Newcastle United pressure Savona and Juventus for agreement

Newcastle United are reportedly stepping up their talks with Juventus for Nicolò Savona and pushing hard to get a deal done, despite his injury problems. The first suggestion of interest came from Sky Sports UK this afternoon, but that has grown rapidly in the last few hours, with reports of conversations both with the club and his entourage. It is not the first time that the right-back has been linked with a potential Premier League move, as he was already mentioned around Manchester City in January, when they failed to secure his Juve teammate Andrea Cambiaso. Newcastle United increase focus on Savona Savona turned 22 in March and has been called up for international duty with the senior Italy squad, but is yet to make his debut at this level. He only recently signed a new contract to June 2030, so was not expected to be on the market this summer, but Juventus are struggling to sell and need fresh funds to bring in different players. Another issue Newcastle United must take into consideration is that Savona badly sprained his ankle in the FIFA Club World Cup and is going to be out until at least mid-September. It is particularly important, seeing as Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio warns Newcastle will only go in for Savona if Tino Livramento joins Manchester City first.

Newcastle United are reportedly planning a bid for Juventus defender Nicolò Savona, who had previously been linked with Manchester City, and still hoping for Atalanta's Giorgio Scalvini. The Premier League side already have Sandro Tonali and are looking towards more Italy internationals to bolster their squad this summer, specifically in defence. According to Sky Sports UK, they are planning a fresh proposal for Juventus right-back Savona. Savona on Newcastle United radar The 22-year-old plays primarily on the right, but can also be used in central defence when needed. A product of the Juventus youth academy, Savona is currently out of action until mid-September with an ankle injury that he sustained during the FIFA Club World Cup. He had previously been linked with the Premier League for Manchester City as an alternative to his Juve teammate Andrea Cambiaso. However, Savona only recently signed a new contract with the Bianconeri to June 2023. Meanwhile, the same source confirms Newcastle United have also not lost hope of getting Atalanta centre-back Scalvini, although here there is significant competition from Napoli and Milan. Atalanta are also in no real rush to let the homegrown defender leave, putting him in their advertising campaign to launch the new kit today. Newcastle are considering an approach to Juventus for defender Nicolo Savona 🤔 They also retain a keen interest in Atalanta centre back Giorgio Scalvini, who has 8 caps for Italy 🇮🇹

West Ham United In The Mix For This Juventus Fullback: Why They Must Secure His Services

If a report from TuttoJuve is believed to be true, West Ham United are keeping close tabs on Juventus defender Nicolò Savona. But they are not alone in the hunt. Premier League rivals Everton and Bournemouth, and the reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, are willing to splash a fee of around €25m to secure his signing. The 21-year-old Azzurri youth international progressed through Juventus' academy ranks since joining them from Aygreville at the age of 8. He had a youth loan with SPAL before breaking into the Bianconeri's reserves in 2022. After more than 60 appearances for their Primavera team in Serie C, Savona got promoted to the senior squad under former boss Thiago Motta. Advertisement The youngster has primarily featured as a right fullback since last summer, but was deployed from the left on a few occasions before sustaining a thigh strain in February. Motta was relieved from his duties last month, and his successor, Igor Tudor, has only brought Savona in twice as a late substitute, regardless of his availability following the brief injury layoff. (Photo by) Despite 33 first-team appearances so far this season, the defensive prodigy could be shipped out for the right offer. Juventus are assessing the option of bringing Koni De Winter back from Genoa, and the Hammers, too, are reportedly in the mix for the 22-year-old Belgium international. A sell-on clause would see the Old Lady pay around €15m to re-sign him from the Rossoblù, and therefore, hold an advantage over the Premier League outfit, who are aiming for revival with significant summer reinforcements. Why West Ham United Must Tie Him Down Although the owners appointed Graham Potter to replace Julen Lopetegui, West Ham United have dropped to 17th in the Premier League standings. They might have escaped relegation, thanks to the dismal show from all three newly-promoted outfits, Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton, but the former Brighton and Chelsea boss must turn things around to prevent further downfall. He needs players who would fit in his style of play, and Savona, with two league goals, has exhibited his balanced approach between defence and attack. The Irons have two right-backs in Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Vladimír Coufal. The latter, however, has lost his starting status to Wan-Bissaka and is expected to part ways in a couple of months upon the expiration of his West Ham contract. Savona would be a quality alternative to challenge and cover the former Manchester United fullback, but they must step up the chase before the transfer race heats up.
