Zayn Malik Opens Up About Racism on Upcoming 'Fuchsia Sea' Remix
Zayn Malik is back with another banger, and he's seemingly opening up about his One Direction-era fame in its lyrics. The singer-songwriter is dropping a remix of his Room Under the Stairs track, 'Fuchsia Sea,' featuring a new rap verse. He teased the new lyrics on his Instagram Stories, where he discusses his journey with finding fame at a young age and facing racism from the public while he was 'in a white band' with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne. 'Got my back against the wall so much they think I got a brick fascination / Do you remember every conversation? 'Cause I have been conscious of every connotation,' he muses on the snippet he shared on social media. He continued, 'And while they concentrate on their elevation, I've got a round trip to the constellation / I'm a convert to the concert, and I did that for inflation, 'cause I worked hard in a white band, and they still laughed at the Asian.' The track, which was first featured on his 2024 album Room Under the Stairs, outlined his resilience following personal struggles. His new lyrics seem to be an extension of the emotions that drove the original version. This marks Zayn's first musical release since he toured his album earlier this year. On the tour's opening night in Mexico City, he sang 1D's ballad 'Night Changes' as a tribute to the late Liam Payne. It also happened to be the 10th anniversary of Zayn's departure from the band. 'It's the first time I've sung that song in 10 years. Thank you, that was fucking amazing. I almost cried,' he said following the emotional performance, per fan-captured footage. In 2015, the singer exited 1D to pursue some 'private time out of the spotlight'—but he ended up releasing his debut solo album, Mind of Mine, later that year. 'My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologise to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart,' he wrote in a statement on the band's Facebook page at the time. He added, 'I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry, and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world.'

One Direction's ‘Night Changes' Music Video Hits 1 Billion Views on YouTube
1D has hit 1B — again. More than a decade after its release, the music video for One Direction's 'Night Changes' has surpassed a billion views on YouTube, marking the band's fourth visual to reach the milestone. Directed by Ben Winston and posted in November 2014, the 'Night Changes' music video gave fans the chance to experience what it would be like to do something many of them had long dreamed of: go on a date with one (or all) of the members of the band. Shot in a first-person POV, viewers were made to feel like they were sitting down at a fancy restaurant with Zayn Malik, ice skating with Harry Styles, riding shotgun next to Louis Tomlinson, sitting by a cozy fire with Niall Horan and walking around a carnival with Liam Payne. 'We're only gettin' older, baby/ And I've been thinking about it lately/ Does it ever drive you crazy/ Just how fast the night changes?' the quintet sings in unison as the video's vibes quickly turn from romantic to catastrophic. Released as a single from 1D's fourth studio album, Four, 'Night Changes' is considered a staple in the boy band's catalog. The track reached No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100, one of numerous top 40 hits One Direction achieved between the group's debut in 2010 and dissolution in 2016. Liam Payne's Friend Roger Nores Withdraws Defamation Lawsuit Against Singer's Dad
Liam Payne's friend has pulled his defamation lawsuit against the late singer's father, Geoff Payne. Roger Nores — who was acquitted of an involuntary manslaughter charge in Payne's death investigation — asked the court to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuit on Wednesday, Rolling Stone can confirm. In his original filing, Nores had alleged that Geoff made false and defamatory statements about him in sworn declarations to an Argentine prosecutor investigating Liam's death, causing him damages of over $10 million. Now, in an email sent to Richard Bray, Liam's estate attorney, Nores writes that Geoff 'doesn't need to apologize.' 'I'll always remember when [Geoff] came to me the first night at the ranch after I had picked them up at the airport, how he asked me to promise I would never give up on Liam, no matter what,' Nores wrote in the email, obtained by Rolling Stone. 'I kept that promise right until the end, and it was pretty hard.' 'In spite of how everything turned out and Geoff saying in his statement to the police [that] 'this is all Roger's responsibility,'' he added, 'I would have done this 100 times over because I loved Liam with all my heart and I miss him everyday.' A lawyer representing Geoff in the Florida case and attorneys representing Liam's estate did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone's request for comment. In his original lawsuit, Nores claimed that the father of the One Direction star made 'false' and 'misleading' statements and omitted information in his 'sworn declarations' to Argentine officials while characterizing Nores' involvement in Liam's life. Although the statements made by Geoff were given in another country, the lawsuit claimed that they were 'accessed by persons in the Palm Beach County/Florida' area and caused injury in said places. Nores had claimed that Geoff's statements impacted him and his reputation in 'mega proportions with extensive damages.' In a response to the lawsuit dated Jan. 10, Liam's estate declined to retract the declarations and accused Nores of 'seeking to interfere with a police investigation by pressuring [Geoff] to change his evidence,' adding that they would 'bring his actions to the attention of the Argentinian authorities.' Liam's estate had also slammed the lawsuit's intent of donating proceeds of the lawsuit damages to Liam's son as 'pointless,' adding that the lawsuit causes Liam's child with Cheryl Cole more 'irreparable damage.' Nores was acquitted of an involuntary manslaughter charge last month, despite a denied appeal from the prosecutor overseeing the case. The new update comes several months after Rolling Stone published an investigation into the tragedy of Liam, including a statement from his ex-fiancée, Maya Henry, breaking her silence on his death. Liam died in mid-October after falling from the third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Argentina.
