Ninja's Glass-Bowl Air Fryer Won Me Over. Here Are 4 Reasons I Made the Switch
CNET's expert staff reviews and rates dozens of new products and services each month, building on more than a quarter century of expertise. 9.2 / 10 SCORE Ninja Crispi $180 at Amazon $180 at Best Buy $180 at Target Pros Cook, serve, and storage capabilities Easy to clean: almost everything is dishwasher-safe Intuitive operation No concern about PFAS Ability to see cooking in progress Can buy additional glass vessels for maximum food prep Small storage footprint with nesting capabilities Portable Cons Price is on the high side for air fryers Some exposed hot elements during operation Ninja Crispi 9.2/10 CNET Score $180 at Amazon We're a little obsessed with air fryers around here. We've spent countless hours putting them through their paces -- testing everything from frozen snacks to full meals -- while also evaluating how each model performs. This past spring, a new contender stood out: an air fryer with a sleek glass cooking chambe that breaks from the usual bulky black-box design and hard-to-get-really-clean nonstick basket. After running it through our full battery of tests, it didn't just pass -- it quickly became the favorite. The result? It earned CNET's Editor's Choice award and claimed the top spot on our Best Air Fryers of 2025 list. The Ninja Crispi is our new favorite air fryer. Ninja Read more: Air Fryer Fails: 8 Foods That Just Can't Handle the Heat The Crispi is one of the more expensive air fryers we've tested at $160. But if you're hunting for an air fryer that's easy to use, easy to get clean -- like, really clean -- built to last and causes no concern about ingesting cookware chemicals, the Ninja Crispi is worth a look. Here's how it works and four reasons I switched to a glass-bowl air fryer in 2025. Ninja Crispi 4-in-1 portable glass air fryer at a glance Style : Modular air fryer with two sizes of glass cooking vessels and a separate cooking pod in three color options : Modular air fryer with two sizes of glass cooking vessels and a separate cooking pod in three color options Dimensions : 13.5 by 12 by 13.5 inches : 13.5 by 12 by 13.5 inches Power : 1,500 watts : 1,500 watts Weight : 15.74 pounds : 15.74 pounds Price $160 Ninja Crispi operation: How it's different Being able to visually track progress is one of the big draws for Ninja's new air fryer. Pamela Vachon/CNET The cooking pod itself includes crisp, bake, air fry and max crisp functions. Crisp is intended to revive leftovers, while max crisp is the ideal setting for packaged frozen foods. While it is tempting, given its baking dish look, the glass TempWare bowls are not intended to be used as the actual cooking vessels for batters in bake mode, because air still needs to circulate below the cooking vessels to be effective. (Will I try anyway? The temptation is real…) Pressing any button will indicate a digital timer to which you can add or subtract minutes. (The timer defaults to 10.) Below 1 minute, the timer changes into seconds and the device beeps to alert you when the cycle is complete. Overall, the sound level of the Ninja Crispi was similar to conventional air fryer models, with just a moderate whir when operating. 4 reasons I switched to the glass-bowl Ninja Crispi You can see what you're cooking My brussels sprouts got a good char in the Crispi. Pamela Vachon/CNET As expected, the ability to see the cooking in progress was really satisfying, both from a nerdy perspective and also to be able to look for visual cues in terms of when to flip your items or to assess doneness. Both chicken parts and Brussels sprouts were cooked evenly and efficiently with little risk of over-cooking given the 360-degree window into the proceedings. 2. Glass bowls are nontoxic and easy to get clean NInja Most air fryers use aluminum cooking baskets with a nonstick coating. Those coatings tend to chip and breakdown if you're not careful. Plenty of folks are concerned about the health ramifications for ingesting nonstick chemicals that chip of of cookware. With a glass-bowl air fryer, there's no worry. If that's not enough, glass is much easier to deep-clean than nonstick surfaces and you can use the dishwasher without issue. 3. The glass bowls double as food storage containers The cooked food is ready to be packed away or brought to a party as soon as it's done. Pamela Vachon/CNET The versatility, however, makes the Ninja Crispi tremendously interesting, especially for avid meal preppers. Full meals or individual cooked components can go right from cooking into the fridge, with the included lids for easy storage. (Although I am bound by refrigerator logistics to tell you to let it all cool first, so you don't inadvertently raise the temperature inside your fridge.) Additional cooking bowls in a variety of sizes can be purchased separately, allowing for the possibility of a multitude of individually cooked meals with no cleanup required in between use: just transfer the cooking pod from one cooking vessel to the next, assembly-line style. Sunday meal prep has never been easier, nor required fewer dishes. 4. It's easy to store The Ninja Crispi is also easy to store, with a footprint and height requirement that is far less than a lot of conventional models. It also makes for easy portability -- ideal for a potluck situation or even just a hot-meal self-care moment -- where you could even justify cooking on site. Either of the cooking bowls and the cooking pod could easily fit in a shoulder bag. If I worked in an office, it would thrill me to bring the whole thing with me to have a hot, healthful lunch without reheating. Although if you're contemplating being the person to cook fish directly at your desk -- maybe don't. Not only can the larger 4-quart bowl be used directly as a family-style serving vessel -- whose practical feet preclude the need for a trivet or pot holder -- but one could argue that the smaller 4-cup vessel can be used to eat out of directly, significantly reducing the number of dishes to wash. Speaking of washing, everything except the cooking pod itself is dishwasher-safe. Ninja Crispy setup Convenient as it, the glass cooking chamber does get hotter than your average air fryer base. Pamela Vachon/CNET Despite not looking anything like a typical air fryer, the Ninja Crispi was intuitive to set up and use. Each of the glass cooking vessels has a built-in stand with feet that keeps it off the counter surface. Side handles are also fitted on the stands of the bowls, which allow not only for easy transporting between the counter and the table (because the vessels can also be used to serve) but also make it easy to shake the contents as needed during the cooking process. The nonstick crisper plates were packaged separately and simple to place inside the bowls and to remove for cleaning. Lids for the 6-cup and 4-quart bowls were also included: a snap-on lid for the smaller and a simpler press-on lid for the larger. The cooking pod itself has an ergonomic shape for easy lifting and also has feet for safe placement on the counter when not in use. The cooking pod sits easily on top of the 6-cup bowl and a big-batch adapter frame fits the cooking pod onto the larger bowl. Between unwrapping and rinsing all of the washable parts, I was ready to go in about 2 minutes. What I didn't like about the Ninja Crispi Convenient as it, the glass cooking chamber does get hotter than your average air fryer base. Pamela Vachon/CNET As a modular device with a ton of built-in practicality and versatility, I do think the Ninja Crispi is a game-changer in the air fryer market. That said, at $160 it's on the higher side, price-wise, for an air fryer. Those with little ones in the house also may want to note: When the cooking pod is being used with the adapter for large batches, the adapter can become hot and is potentially exposed once the heating pod is removed. Never minding little ones, if you're an absent-minded cook yourself, it can be a hazard. Read more: 8 Foods That Go From Good to Great in an Air Fryer Final verdict on the Ninja Crispi If you're a disciple of air fryer cooking and, especially if you have a serious commitment to meal prepping, the Ninja Crispi is arguably one of the most versatile models on the market. It's satisfying to use and easy to store and clean. You may want to look for it on sale during Prime Days or the like, but even without a discount, its utility and the reputation of the Ninja brand merits its price tag.

I just tried Nespresso's limited-edition Pistachio collection, and it's the pop of color I didn't know my kitchen needed
The best Nespresso machines are convenient, easy to use, and look great. But if you're someone who enjoys adding color to your countertops, the brand's lineup just got better. Now available in a limited edition summer color called Pistachio, the Pop+ brings some retro charm to the kitchen, without skipping out on modern features. I love a colorful kitchen gadget. My Moccamaster is bright orange, and I've also got a sage green Ninja Crispi, so I was very keen to try the new limited-edition machine for myself. And if (like me) your ears prick up at the word pistachio, you'll also be interested in pairing your Nespresso with the brand's new limited edition pistachio vanilla coffee pods. I made a whole fleet of drinks in the Pistachio Pop+, including a number of the limited edition coffees over ice. Here's how it went. Nespresso's Limited-Edition Pistachio Vanilla Coffee Pods retail in packs of 10 for a limited time, and you can buy them in Nespresso boutiques or direct from the brand's website. The Vertuo Pop+ is the neatest Vertuo machine on the market. With a compact frame, decent-sized used pod container, and available now in this limited-edition summer color, I think it's worth the $139. I'll be reviewing the Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ soon, but to give a sneak peek of my first impressions, it's an incredibly attractive machine. I first tested it in the Tom's Guide test kitchen, and a number of colleagues came over to check it out! At just 10 inches tall, 14 inches deep and 8 inches wide, the machine is seriously petite. Thankfully, the drip tray can be removed to accommodate most mugs, but you'll struggle to fit a taller glass under the dispenser. I did note that Nespresso's smaller Nomad travel cup just about fits, which will be welcome news if you want to buy into the entire Nespresso ecosystem. Aesthetically, the combination of muted pistachio green and a light cream feels very retro. My home is decorated in a loosely midcentury style, and I could see this fitting right in. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Using the machine couldn't be easier. To open your machine, you twist the dial on the top of the hinged brewing compartment. The machine lifts automatically, and lifts your spent coffee pod out of the holder and into a waste bin, which I noted holds a surprisingly large amount of pods. I counted eight brews before I needed to empty it. Once your pod is inserted, you can press the lid down and lock it back into place. Pre-heat takes about three seconds once you've pressed the machine's one button, and dispensing starts automatically after that. As for the limited-edition Pistachio flavor, I dished out many iced lattes to my intrigued colleagues during the testing process, and the results were mixed. You'd expect these pods to be sweet, but the nutty and floral notes are slightly confusing against a dark-roasted bean without any sweetness. The flavor mostly comes from the scent (which is lovely) and really sings when you pour a dash of vanilla syrup into your iced cup. The pods are designed to be poured over ice, so I wondered if the machine would automatically extract the coffee at a lower temperature to offset the inevitable melting that would come as the pod pours. But no, from the Pop+ at least, the coffee was piping hot until it hit my ice. However, because this is a shorter pod, it's designed to brew strong and be diluted by ice and maybe a dash of milk, and my finished coffee was still punchy. It's not my favorite limited-edition flavor Nespresso has done, but it's the ideal summer offering, especially when paired with the Pistachio Pop+. I'll be writing my full review of the Pop+ in the coming weeks, but if you're smitten with Nespresso's limited edition color, act fast while stock lasts.

I've tested all the Ninja products on sale for Prime Day — here's the 9 you should actually buy
I've got five years of testing Ninja gadgets under my belt, and if you're hoping to increase your cooking game, it's a brand I can heartily recommend. But there are plenty of Prime Day deals to choose from, and picking the right Ninja appliance for you can be overwhelming. Luckily for you, as someone who's tested (almost) everything Ninja has ever made, I can make that decision a lot easier for you. I've tried each and every one of the 9 Ninja Prime Day deals below, and they all get my seal of approval. The Ninja Air Fryer Pro 4-in-1, which currently sits at the top of my best air fryer guide, is reduced by 31% to just $89 for Prime Day. You can also save 40% on Ninja's 12-Piece NeverStick Cookware Set, which is some of the best nonstick cookware I've ever tested. One of Ninja's cheaper products, the Blast portable blender is impressively powerful. Sure, it can't compete with a full-size blender, but it did a great job of handling everything from protein powder to frozen berries when I put it to the test. The Ninja Air Fryer Pro 4-in-1 is my top-rated air fryer for most people. It's a great compact air fryer that's got plenty of power, and I enjoy that despite its limited 5-quart capacity, it can cook up enough fries or wings for a whole family. And because of the 400°F top temperature, it's going to give you a delicious, crispy texture. Ninja reinvented the air fryer game with its DualZone models, and the DZ201 is the largest of the bunch. With two 5-quart baskets, it can double up to make french fries for the whole family, or cook your main and your side simultaneously. The Ninja Crispi is one of Ninja's most interesting recent releases. It features a removable cooking lid and interchangeable glass containers to cook meals of a range of sizes. And while I had my doubts, it blew me away in my Ninja Crispi review. In the end, I gave it a well-deserved 4.5 stars. Want a does-it-all kitchen system? The Blender & Food Processor Combo has a 64 oz. max liquid capacity, and its 1500 watt motor is incredibly powerful. I tested the blender-only version of this combo, but I was a big fan, so this expanded edition with attachments for chopping and single-serve blending is bound to be even better. The Ninja DoubleStack XL Air Fryer is one of Ninja's most innovative releases. This two-drawer air fryer saves a huge amount of counter space by stacking one drawer on top of another, doubling its cooking capacity for its footprint. It's got two drawers of 5-quart capacity, and comes with roasting trays to stack foods inside the drawers, too. The Creami is famous for a reason. I use it all the time to turn everything from frozen yoghurt to homemade custard into tasty gelato. And if you're keen on increasing your protein goals, you can also freeze a shake and turn it into tasty, low-cal ice cream. One of Ninja's best value options is this 14-piece knife set, and that's before this $90 discount. The set includes an in-built sharpener and even 6 steak knives. I've tried some market-leading knives in my years of testing, and this set from Ninja outperforms a lot of them. Featuring 7 pans and 5 lids, this cookware set from Ninja has some of the best non-stick technology I've tried. You can use metal utensils while cooking and put these pans through the dishwasher without having to worry about flaking or damaging your pan. They're even oven-safe up to 500°F. I've been testing kitchen appliances for five years, and the majority of the gadgets in my own kitchen are from Ninja. It's a brand I recommend to friends and family for reliability and user-friendly design. A Ninja Crispi Air Fryer system that'll have you feeling like you've just become an American Ninja Kitchen Warrior. Throw your go-to lazy day meal of nuggets and fries into the glass container, attach it to the air fryer, enjoy the fruits of your labor (yum) and then run it back again at dinnertime! Or an Emeril Lagasse dual zone air fryer over combo with precise temperature for both sides so you can cook two very different items at once (and in two different ways). It has the capability to air fry, bake, cook pizza, reheat, dehydrate, roast, broil, grill, toast, keep items warm, slow cook, and can be used as a rotisserie. Bam! Emeril is still killin' it! A set of stove burner covers to catch the inevitable splash of sauce that always finds its way out of your pot — it'll also help cover up some chipped the burners you unfortunately inherited from the previous owner. A self-draining silicone sponge holder you'll use constantly because, let's face it, you're tired of a gross puddle of dirty dishwater leaking all over your counter, and your brushes and sponges are in need of a home to call their own. It'll be a win-win! A set of gravity-activated grinders to make you feel like you're living alongside The Jetsons each time you season something. No twisting or turning needed — these automatically release freshly ground salt or pepper whenever you tip it over. Or hand-painted wildflower salt and pepper shakers that'll put a spring in your step — plus they'll be an adorable, functional and darling addition to your daily at-home dining experiences. A porcelain butter dish you'll for how pretty and practical it is but *also* be surprised by how often you reach for it during the day. Just think about it — on a typical day you could very well be slathering butter on a waffle, buttering up some toast, or popping some butter into a pan to saute some veggies! KitchenAid shears, because you should probably stop using your regular ol' crafting scissors when you're cooking. 😅 Use these to beautifully cut quesadillas or pizza into slices (a must-have for parents!) or to quickly chop herbs. A 2-in-1 knife and cutting board for anyone who detests cleaning full-sized cutting boards — they're so awkward to fit into my sink and I somehow always end up drenched in the process. It'll also be a great option for making custom salads for the whole fam who don't necessarily want the same thing in theirs. Cut a few pieces of cucumber into your bowl and a few slices of bell pepper into your partner's! A Dawn Platinum Powerwash dish spray that will become your right-hand man in the kitchen from here on out — it comes in various delectable scents and works wonders on caked-on food and grease. All you have to do is spritz, let it sit, then rinse it off! Reviewers are obsessed with it — it has over 90,000 5-star reviews. (WOW!!!) A soap-dispensing attachment to upgrade your Scrub Daddy into the ultimate dish-cleaning mechanism. You can go ahead and make an absolute mess of your pots and pants, knowing this gadget has got your back. And a set of cat-shaped double-sided sponges because why not turn one of your most hated tasks (scrubbing, well, anything) into an adorable experience that'll encourage you to do it *meow* instead of later? Oxo's new compact Brew Rapid Brewer that'll have you wondering, "Where has this been all of my life?" It won't take up much counter space at *all*, and it doesn't need to be plugged in or charged, so you'll never find yourself waiting around too long for a fresh cup of joe. Plus a tiny but mighty milk frother to add all kinds of foamy goodness to your drinks while also making you feel like you just graduated from a special barista class. Making at-home bevs is about to be a lot more exciting. An affordable and excellent chef's knife you can use to beautifully cut up ingredients in a way even Gordon Ramsay would applaud. (And we *know* how much he loves to aggressively shout criticisms!) Or a set of floral kitchen knives that'll make every meal prep feel refreshing — a new, sharp, beautiful set of tools is sure to motivate you to make dinner at home instead of Seamless-ing dinner for the umpteenth time. And cut-resistant gloves for anyone who has already had the somewhat horrifying experience of slicing one of their digits. Sorry, Chef, but no one wants blood in their meatballs. Safety first! A super absorbent floral dish drying mat to add some pretty vibes into your kitchen and to your least favorite chore (doing the dishes, siiiiiiiigh) It's a functional *and* lovely option for anyone in need of somewhere to dry their cups, bowls, and plates. A family-size Perfect Pot you can use on both the stovetop and in the oven — it'll replace your stock pot, Dutch oven, saucepot, roasting rack, steamer, colander, braiser, and spoon rest! Talk about a fabulous gift, jeez. Or a 12-piece ceramic, nonstick Caraway cookware set complete with everything you'd possibly need to inspire you to make a mouthwatering meal in the comfort of your kitchen instead of heading out to eat (again). The set has a one-year warranty (phew) and is naturally non-stick, so you'll save $$$ on butter, oil, and cooking spray, and will be able to withstand waaaaay more cooking than those raggedy pots and pans you've been using since college. Extra long oven mitts to protect your arms while you're checking on the delicious veggies you're roasting for dinner and then again later when you're popping the oven open to see if your famous chocolate chip cookies are perfectly browned and ready for dessert. A compact Ninja Foodi 2-in-1 Flip Toaster you can use like a regular toaster *then* flip on its side to transform it into a toaster oven. May waffles and reheated leftover pizza (which is superior to all other leftovers, BTW) be in your near future. A vertical pan handle attachment that'll make it easier than ever to lift that adorable cast-iron skillet you just HAD to have in a fun color to match the rest of your kitchen. Environmentally friendly dishcloths made of cellulose and cotton you can use to clean your counters, stovetops, dishes, shower doors, and mirrors and the tears you're likely to shed when you accidentally burn dinner for the umpteenth time. A set of Anyday microwaveable cooking essentials that'll completely change how you cook and store leftovers — each dish is microwave- and dishwasher-safe *and* can also be used for steaming, roasting, and serving! You'll have waaay less to clean so you can get back to doing more important things like catch up with your bestie on that questionable first date she went on last night. And a 12-ounce bottle of Mike's Hot Honey you can drizzle over any and every meal — breakfast, lunch, and dinner! This condiment is about to be there for you more than your ex ever was.
