Shell technical partnership keeps Nissan Formula E Team's ambitions on track
Shell and Nissan Formula E Team have announced the continuation of their long-running technical partnership in the FIA Formula E World Championship. Building on the partners' commitment to innovation and technology leadership, Nissan Formula E Team and Shell plan to further collaborate in R&D to explore new opportunities to provide more efficient and sustainable lubricant solutions to unleash the best performance. Shell has worked with Nissan Formula E Team to co-develop a bespoke range of Shell EV-Plus E-Transmission and E-Thermal fluids to extract the maximum performance across Seasons 11 and 12. The bespoke fluids are specifically designed for high speed, wheel-to-wheel street racing, where effective thermal management is essential to cope with the extreme demands placed on the Nissan Formula E powertrain. This renewal will extend the strong technical collaboration, which has and will continue to be crucial in enabling a robust track to road performance philosophy. Nissan Formula E team thrills fans with victory in Tokyo E-Prix
The Nissan Formula E Team lit up Tokyo with a commanding performance at its home race, taking pole position, a podium finish, and a sensational victory in the 2024 – 2025 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship double-header. Returning to the Japanese capital for Rounds 8 and 9, the Nissan Formula E Team showcased exceptional pace and strategy. Following a rain-affected Saturday where qualifying was cancelled, Oliver Rowland started on pole and secured a second-place finish after a red flag altered the pit strategy. Sunday's race saw dry conditions and even greater success. Rowland once again qualified on pole - his third consecutive pole in Tokyo - and delivered a masterclass in racing and energy management to claim a dramatic victory after executing his Attack Mode strategy to perfection. Teammate Norman Nato qualified strongly again, reaching the Duels, but contact during the race hampered his chances, resulting in a 17th-place finish.
