CBS' ‘Blue Bloods' spinoff recasts Sean Reagan role, Mika Amonsen takes over as Donnie Wahlberg's son

CBS's upcoming 'Blue Bloods' spinoff has recast Danny Reagan's son after the same actor played the recurring role throughout the original 14 seasons. Andrew Terraciano will not return as Sean Reagan in 'Boston Blue' after appearing in nearly every episode across 14 seasons as the son of Donnie Wahlberg's character, Danny Reagan, in the hit primetime network show. Instead, Mika Amonsen will take over the role as the youngest Reagan son, who relocates with his father to Beantown to start a new chapter working as a patrolman for the Boston Police Department in the 'Blue Bloods' offshoot. 5 Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and his nephew Joe Hill (Will Hochman) in the 'Blue Bloods' episode 'No Good Deed.' Wahlberg, 55, reprises his role as the hot-headed detective, teaming up with Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays Detective Lena Silver, the accomplished eldest daughter of a prestigious law enforcement family. Amsonen's Sean Reagan has 'committed himself to pursuing his family's legacy but wanted to do so on his own terms, which meant joining a department outside of his hometown. Danny's decision to stay in Boston gives this father and son duo a chance to reconnect on a deeper level,' according to the character's IMDb description. Amonsen has previously appeared in Prime Video's 'Reacher,' ABC's 'Designated Survivor,' and had a role in Eli Roth's 2023 horror film 'Thanksgiving.' In February, CBS announced 'Boston Blue' and began filming seven months after the series finale of 'Blue Bloods,' which ran from 2010 to 2024. 5 Mika Amonsen has been casted as Sean Reagan for 'Boston Blue.' In an emotional farewell post on Instagram, the 22-year-old actor thanked fans of the long-running CBS drama for watching. 'To all of you that watched, I hope you enjoyed the finale,' Terraciano wrote. Not just The Residence, Netflix has canceled two more beloved shows

Netflix has canceled three beloved shows after just one season – the detective show The Residence, the medical drama Pulse, and the comedy No Good Deed. Netflix often cancels shows if they fail to receive high standards of viewership. Mindhunter, The OA, and Sense8 were among some of the most popular shows that were dropped sooner than fans expected. Not just The Residence, Netflix has canceled two more beloved shows (Unsplash - representational image) No Good Deed and Pulse were met with mixed reviews by critics. However, The Residence was quite well received, with an 85% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. The synopsis of the show reads, "132 rooms. 157 suspects. One dead body. One wildly eccentric detective. One disastrous State Dinner. The Residence is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world's most famous mansion." Netflix's synopsis of No Good Deed reads, 'The sale of Paul and Lydia's picture-perfect LA home forces them to face painful family secrets — and hide them from prying eyes and cutthroat buyers.' Netflix says of Pulse, 'A group of ER residents navigate medical crises and personal drama amid a divisive allegation at their Miami hospital.' When Uzo Aduba opened up about her love for Cordelia Cupp Uzo Aduba, who stars in the show, has not spoken out about the cancellation yet even though she has been active on social media. Most recently, the actress shared her workout routine, saying in a post, "I learn so much from the fitness community I'm surrounded by and I'm SO lucky to go to a gym that pushes, supports, and listens to me. Keep going team, we got this." Aduba previously spoke about her admiration for the character Cordelia Cupp. She told The Hollywood Reporter in the past, "When it came to this script, I was really interested in the pace. It just had a wonderful crispness and cadence to it.' She added, "I think the very first thing as it relates to Cordelia that I was interested in was I could just very quickly hear her voice more than anything. I could hear how she processes information [and] thinks. I felt inspired by her voice, which to me felt very deliberate, very intentional."

Netflix axes ‘Pulse' and ‘The Residence' after just one season: Here's why

Netflix has officially canceled two of its 2025 scripted freshman series Pulse and The Residence after just one season, reported Deadline. Both series had been lingering in the renewal limbo for months before the axe finally fell. Netflix has axed The Residence after one season(X) While the streaming giant has renewed other new titles in recent months including Man on the Inside, Running Point, Ransom Canyon, and Bet, The Residence and Pulse failed to make the cut, the report added. A quiet exit for medical drama Pulse Pulse, created by Zoe Robyn, was Netflix's foray into medical procedural territory. The show starring Willa Fitzgerald and Colin Woodell struggled to make a mark in the already crowded market. Launched in April, Pulse was the fifth medical drama released in six months across networks and platforms. Pulse's arrival clashed directly with Max's popular show The Pitt which likely ate into its audience. In spite of spending four weeks in Netflix's global Top 10 and peaking at rank three with 8.5 million views, the show was canceled over a month ago. The cast and crew of the show, according to another Parade report, have already moved on to new projects. 'The Residence' axed despite star power and high budget Unlike Pulse, cancelation of The Residence was more recent and surprising, the reports stated. The Paul William Davies' creation was a murder mystery featuring an all-star cast of Uzo Aduba, Giancarlo Esposito, Jason Lee and Randall Park. The Shonda Rhimes' production premiered shortly after the breakout success of Adolescence which dominated the charts and overshadowed the series. The Residence, which ranked number 2 in Top 10 charts and recorded 8.8 million views, its massive production budget made a second season financially unviable. Moreover, attempts to lower the budget were unsuccessful. 'No Good Deed' left in lurch The dark comedy anthology No Good Deed is still suspended in the uncertain territory. Created by Liz Feldman, who also made Dead to Me, the show peaked with 6 million views but hasn't yet been renewed. The Deadline report claimed the door was still open for a new concept under the same anthology banner, but for now, its future is shrouded in ambiguity. Netflix has canceled Pulse and The Residence after just one season. Q: Why was Pulse canceled? Pulse was the last of several medical dramas to launch in a short span and was overshadowed by more successful rivals. Q: What happened to The Residence? Despite a strong cast and initial interest, The Residence was canceled due to high production costs and bad timing against breakout hit Adolescence. Q: Will No Good Deed return? Possibly. Netflix hasn't renewed it yet, but creator Liz Feldman may pitch a new concept for a second installment.

Netflix cancels ‘Pulse' and ‘The Residence', ‘No Good Deed' paused indefinitely

Netflix has cancelled two of its recent series, Pulse and The Residence, while placing No Good Deed on indefinite pause following underwhelming ratings. Pulse, created by Zoe Robyn, was Netflix's take on a medical procedural, starring Willa Fitzgerald and Colin Woodell. The series struggled to find an audience, impacted by launching alongside competing medical dramas and by its challenging theme of workplace sexual harassment. The cast and creatives were informed over a month ago, with actors now pursuing new roles. The Residence, a comedic murder mystery from Shonda Rhimes' Shondaland, has also been cancelled. Starring Uzo Aduba and featuring Giancarlo Esposito, Randall Park and Susan Kelechi Watson, the series faced tough timing, premiering shortly after Netflix's Adolescence captured global attention. Despite strong viewership peaking at No. 2 in Netflix's Top 10 with 8.8 million views, high production costs, including extensive White House set builds and VFX, made a renewal unfeasible. Meanwhile, No Good Deed, created by Liz Feldman, remains on indefinite pause. Conceived as an anthology series in the vein of The White Lotus, it featured O-T Fagbenle and Teyonah Parris and spent four weeks in the Top 10, peaking at 6 million views. Although the first season concluded with a potential storyline for a second instalment, the lukewarm reception has paused renewal discussions, though the possibility of a new concept for continuation remains open. These decisions follow a series of Netflix renewals this year, including Bridgerton and The Diplomat, reflecting the platform's continued content reshaping in 2025.

No Good Deed Done (For Now) at Netflix

No Good Deed won't be burying any more secrets at Netflix — for now, at least. The series has no plans for a Season 2, though there is a theoretical possibility that it could continue down the road as an anthology with a new cast, per our sister site Deadline. TVLine has reached out to Netflix for comment. More from TVLine Pulse Cancelled at Netflix After 1 Season The Residence Cancelled at Netflix The Last of Us Co-Creator to Depart Ahead of Season 3: 'Now Is the Right Time' No Good Deed Season 1, which debuted in December 2024, followed Lydia (played by Lisa Kudrow) and Paul (Ray Romano) as they moved out of their empty nest to restart their life. They sparked a real estate frenzy after listing their Spanish-style villa in one of Los Angeles' most desirable neighborhoods. But the couple got caught up in their own craze as they tried to bury secrets surrounding their son's murder, which took place in the home. (Turned out, they had nothing to hide: As it was revealed in the finale, their daughter didn't mistakenly kill her brother, as they initially thought. He was murdered by their neighbor Margo, played by Linda Cardellini.) In addition to Kudrow, Romano and Cardellini, the series starred Luke Wilson (DC's Stargirl) as JD Campbell, a depressed, out-of-work soap star seeking to downsize; Teyonah Parris (The Marvels) as Carla, a high-achieving and somewhat sardonic architect and expectant mother; Abbi Jacobson (Broad City) as Leslie Fisher, who was thrilled to discover the Los Feliz home she and her wife had admired from afar was finally on the market; and Poppy Liu (Hacks) as Leslie's soulful, grounded and decent wife Sarah. O-T Fagbenle (Presumed Innocent) and Denis Leary (Rescue Me) starred as Dennis and Mikey, respectively.
