Apple Music's Top 500 songs of the decade full list: BTS, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Drake and more
Apple Music has released its most-streamed songs of the decade list. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the global streaming platform, the list was rolled out in batches this week, counting down the most-played tracks. With a sensational breakout that became a household name even in non-English-speaking countries, Ed Sheeran's Shape of You sits right at the top. The song spent over 1,000 days ranked number one on the platform, dominating the all-genre Top Songs chart in at least one country. It still holds the record for the biggest first-day pop debut in Apple Music's global streaming history. And at number two is The Weeknd's Blinding Lights, which stayed in the top tier of the Global Daily Top 100 for over 180 days. The Weeknd also dominates the R&B category on the list, with a total of nine entries. Drake's track God's Plan from his album Scorpion sits at number 3 and has become the most-streamed hip-hop song in Apple's history. But the Canadian rapper has one more feather to add—he has 27 songs in total on the list, the most by any artist. Post Malone grabs both No. 4 and No. 5 spots with Sunflower (with Swae Lee) from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Rockstar featuring 21 Savage. The rest of the top 10 includes Drake's One Dance (ft. Wizkid and Kyla), Travis Scott's Sicko Mode, Ed Sheeran's Perfect, Chris Brown's No Guidance, and Billie Eilish's Bad Guy. Multiple Taylor Swift songs like Blank Space and Cruel Summer also made it, with 14 tracks total, second only to Drake. Lil Nas X's Old Town Road lands at No. 60 and is the highest-ranked country music entry. Billie Eilish has the most alternative tracks on the list, with nine songs featured. Chris Brown arrested at Manchester hotel over alleged bottle attack
Controversial singer Chris Brown was arrested at a five-star hotel in Manchester over an alleged bottle attack at a night club in London two years ago The Metropolitan Police arrested the No Guidance singer, 36, after 2am at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester. He was reportedly arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw at Tape nightclub in 2023. The Mirror have reached out to the Met Police for comment. Chris arrived into Manchester Airport on a private jet on Wednesday afternoon. The Met said to The Sun: ''A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. ''He has been taken into custody where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023. The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.'' In October 2023, music producer Abe Diaw claimed he was assaulted by Chris in a lawsuit. The court documents alleged that Chris 'inflicted severe and lasting injuries' after 'beating [the music producer] over the head." According to the lawsuit, the incident occurred in February of 2023 at the Tape London nightclub and the musician allegedly used a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila. After the initial hit with the bottle, Chris allegedly 'ruthlessly stomped on' and kick plaintiff Amadou 'Abe' Diaw in the neck which rendered him unconscious for 30 seconds. The music producer was rushed to the hospital as a result of the injuries he received, according to the documents attained by Page Six. He also alleged he had 'lacerations on his head and torn ligaments in his leg.' He further asserted he had 'suffered serious and permanent emotional distress and trauma.' * This is a breaking showbiz news story. Drake Capitalizes On 'NOKIA' Popularity With New Music Video
When Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR released their joint album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U just over a month ago, fans immediately gravitated to 'NOKIA.' The 6 God has now capitalized on that organic rise—releasing the track's highly anticipated music video this week. From the day of its release, listeners have been speculating about the visuals; specifically, when they would arrive and what they might look like. The 38-year-old rapper has specialized in turning his popular records into not just regular music videos but almost short films, such as 2019's 'No Guidance' with Chris Brown, 2022's 'Spin Bout U,' or 2023's 'You Broke My Heart.' So, expectations were high even before he mentioned that the 'NOKIA' video had been shot on IMAX. This time around, Drake did something a little different. The grayscale music video did focus heavily on women, but not in the party or roller rink manner that fans had predicted. Instead, there was elaborate choreography, with even Drizzy showing off a two-step. A woman walked through a miniature figurine version of Toronto, a welder sported a Chrome Hearts mask, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made a cameo appearance and flexed with his Converse SHAI 001 signature sneaker, all while the five-time Grammy winner seemingly set up parties via his classic Nokia cellphone. There are, notably, no skits or cheeky elements though. Watch the music video above. Drake's timing for the 'NOKIA' music video couldn't be any better. The record hit its peak position on the Billboard Hot 100 this week at No. 7, making it the second highest-charting song from $ome $exy $ongs 4 U; 'Gimme A Hug,' the highest-charting song from the album, debuted at No. 6 on the long-running chart. Meanwhile, the 21-song project has maintained a constant presence in the Billboard 200 since its release on Valentine's Day. It debuted at No. 1 with 246,000 album-equivalent units in its first week and has remained in a tight race with Kendrick Lamar's November 2024 album GNX. $$$4U marked PARTYNEXTDOOR's first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 and his largest first-week sales performance in his career. The album featured Yebba, Chino Pacas, and Pimmie, who got a solo performance on 'Pimmie's Dilemma.' Drake has already alluded to another solo album being on the way, though no date has been announced yet. With 'NOKIA' as a reminder that neither a rap beef loss nor a constantly-slandered defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group has stopped his ability to make a hit, it will be interesting to see how his next solo effort performs.
