Watched and loved Brad Pitt's 'F1'? Then these thrilling movies and OTT shows will keep you in racing mode

For racing fans, Brad Pitt fans and those in between, the drama "F1" has made its way to theaters. Pitt stars as Sonny Hayes, an aging driver enlisted to save a failing team fronted by a young hot shot (Damson Idris). The fast-paced movie aims for authenticity with help from a notable pro: Lewis Hamilton -- the face of Formula One and a seven-time world champion -- advised on technical details and has a producer credit. For those who have seen "F1," and are looking to get their next full-throttle fix, these movies and shows, all available to stream, are worth a spin. 'Grand Prix' (1966) Heralded as the lead car to which all racing films follow, John Frankenheimer's movie broke ground with its innovative use of vehicle-mounted cameras, jarring real-life footage and quick-jump editing (now a staple in the genre). "Grand Prix" throws viewers into the action with first-person driver perspective; the camera cars reached nearly 200 mph during shoots. The film's star, James Garner, drove in every race and even caught fire during a filmed crash. Viewers would be forgiven for fast-forwarding through the sleepy love stories to skip right to the action, which earned "Grand Prix" three Oscars in technical categories. This racing-movie primer checks many boxes: speed, glamour, drama and a slick opening sequence in Monaco, F1's undisputed Valhalla. ( Stream it on Watch TCM. Rent or buy it on major platforms.) Men's Health Learn More Undo 'Senna: No Fear. No Limits. No Equal.' (2011) No documentary captures the heart of Formula One better than "Senna," which won two BAFTAs and masterfully weaves the story of Ayrton Senna da Silva, the Brazilian racer who figures prominently on F1's Mount Rushmore. Including never-before-seen footage from the F1 archive, along with personal footage, the doc follows young Ayrton, seemingly born to race, as he relocates to Europe, battles discrimination and later, battles Formula One itself for driver safety. The model-handsome Senna typified the daring nature of F1 as he quickly became unstoppable in the rain, which can debilitate drivers. His three world championship wins made him a one-word brand and put Brazil on the racing map. Sadly, Senna's determination to keep drivers safe was marked by his own tragic death in a 1994 crash. Poignant and powerful, "Senna" transcends racing as it documents a worldwide icon gone too soon. ( Stream it on Netflix.) 'Rush' (2013) Directed by Ron Howard and written by Peter Morgan ("The Crown"), this big-budget biopic pits the bad-boy British racer James Hunt against the methodical Austrian driver Niki Lauda as they battle during the 1976 F1 season. Chiseled and dripping with '70s-era swag, Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) is a talented scoundrel who clocks racy hookups with nurses, flight attendants and fans as fast as he takes 100-mph curves. Lauda (Daniel Brühl) is Hunt's perfect foil, methodical and almost nerdy. The feisty feud is spirited and at times petty -- until the catastrophic crash that left Lauda badly burned and facially disfigured. Hemsworth and Brühl perfectly portray two impulsive pros who lose it all, but find purpose, mutual respect and their own version of success. ( Rent or buy it on major platforms.) 'Ford v Ferrari' (2019) Another tale of two huge and wildly different real-life personas marks a pivotal partnership in 1960s-era racing. Matt Damon stars as Carroll Shelby (a familiar name to racing fans), a LeMans champion tasked by Ford Motor Co. with beating the juggernaut Ferrari on the international stage. Christian Bale craftily channels Ken Miles, a maniacal British driver who is cast off by the racing companies he infuriates. The strategic Shelby convinces Miles to develop a car for Ford to win the 1966 LeMans race, which will determine the future of Ford Racing and, in many ways, America's standing. Coolheaded Shelby and fiery Miles make for a dynamic duo in this keen depiction of racing's redemption and its costs. Notably, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt were once tapped to lead. ( Stream it on Hulu.) 'F1: The Academy' (2025) Short of Danica Patrick, a former American NASCAR and IndyCar driver who's now an F1 broadcaster, Formula One suffers from a dearth of female faces -- despite a passionate female fan base. Eyeing a key demographic, Netflix cannily greenlit the series "F1: The Academy," produced by Hello Sunshine, a company of which Reese Witherspoon is a founder. The reality show stars young, aspiring female racers as they race for a potential F1 berth in a sport dominated by men. F1 Academy, run by its managing director, Susie Wolff, scores points for its diverse roster of hopefuls -- two are of Emirati descent -- and might just showcase the next great female racer. ( Stream it on Netflix.) 'Gran Turismo' (2023) Inspired by the cult-favorite (and driver-favorite) video game, this loose biopic centers on Jann Mardenborough, a young Brit recruited to a program targeting top gamers and transitioning them into actual racers. Orlando Bloom plays the smooth-talking team founder who pairs up with a grizzled American former racer (David Harbour) to run the underdog operation. Harbour's ever-doubtful Jack sees little potential in Jann (Archie Madekwe), but tenderly mentors him after Jann's crash that kills a spectator. Harbour is the true standout playing sensei to the protege. Although the film drifts at times into near promotional fawning for PlayStation, its action redlines into a popcorn pleaser that should leave fans cheering by the checkered flag. ( Stream it on Hulu.) 'Formula 1: Drive to Survive' (2017-present) Netflix has invested heavily in this bingeable reality series that goes behind the scenes with F1's biggest stars. Season 6's "Leap of Faith" episode is a must-watch: In it, Lewis Hamilton mulls his decision to re-sign with Mercedes, his longtime home. Season 7's "In the Heat of the Night" episode follows five of F1's most dynamic, next-gen drivers as they head to Singapore, handing them the camera to document the action. Although it has faced some critique for staged or scripted story lines, "Drive to Survive" is still the definitive F1 reality series, blending blazing cockpit footage with sneak peeks of the glam, pressure and even the mundanity of that F1 life. Abandoned bungalow filled with dolls and teddies leaves explorers horrified

Two explorers discovered an abandoned bungalow in the woods packed to the brim with teddy bears and dolls, but were so freaked out, one labelled it 'one of the most uncomfortable places' Explorers are often looking for their next adventure, uncovering deserted buildings, walking through abandoned theme parks, or making their way to secluded sites forgotten in time. This can lead to some rather spooky discoveries, but nothing compares to the forgotten home packed full of teddies and dolls, as two explorers found out. Mitch Johnson and Jake Parr claimed they had heard about the home of a woman who had hoarded toys after her husband had passed away. After later dying herself, the property was said to have been left abandoned, and her collection of toys remained untouched. ‌ The explorers reportedly spent four days using Google Maps to find the bungalow. They drove six and a half hours from Manchester to Selkirk, Scotland, and then walked for around an hour through the woods to where the property was said to be located. ‌ Unsure of whether they were able to get inside the bungalow, as they vow to never break in, they found a panel of the back door was missing and they entered through a gap, reports Kennedy News and Media. Inside, they found every room covered in cobwebs and packed to the brim with teddy bears and soft toys for a chilling discovery. "This was the creepiest place I've ever been to. I just could not wait to get out. I even sacrificed some pictures because I just didn't want to be in there," Mitch said. He continued: "It was literally a 50 minute trek to the house it was that remote. We were going through all this pine forest and we were hearing all sorts of noises and branches were snapping everywhere. "It was just the most bizarre place I've ever been and I've been all around the world doing this." A video was shared of their discovery on Mitch's Facebook page, No Limits, and he believes the toys were a sense of comfort for the wife who lived there after her husband reportedly died during the 80s. ‌ Mitch shared: "There were some real collectables in there, some really rare dolls. There were like 200 or 300 Cabbage Patch Dolls. Some of them are a grand each. "All the Care Bear teddies, all the Monsters Inc teddies. All the teddies you could imagine. It was just like a plethora of teddies. It was just mental. ‌ "It was dusty as well when you were in there you could taste how damp the place was so I don't know how she lived in there. It was a little unnerving as well because I kept thinking at any moment someone's going to pop out here. "You can only just walk into the bedroom, the rest of it was just teddies so it's like six feet deep." In addition to the cuddly toys, the husband's workshop was said to also remain untouched, with tools left where they were once in use. ‌ "It was probably one of the most uncomfortable places I've ever been to if I'm honest because I wasn't quite sure if there was anyone in the teddies. It felt like anyone was going to jump out at any opportunity, " Mitch confessed. "I felt like I was being watched. I couldn't wait to get out of there, I really couldn't. I spent six and a half hours driving and then maybe an hour trekking to it and I just couldn't wait to get out of the place. ‌ "I even ended up going and sitting outside while my mate was still taking his pictures." He added: "I've been to asylums and loads of places around the world on my own and this was the most scary place I have ever been in and there was just a weird vibe about it that didn't sit right at all." Mitch, 40, has now accumulated an impressive following of 51,000 on his urban exploring Facebook page, which he started in 2018. He also runs a YouTube channel and an Instagram account. Reflecting on his adventures, he shared: "It can be a bit of an emotional burden because I see that much, it just makes you realise that life is extremely short and the things you accumulate mean absolutely nothing. It's your memories that mean something."

Woman left with £27,000 bill after dream holiday turns to nightmare over simple error

Woman left with £27,000 bill after dream holiday turns to nightmare over simple error A mistake in Margaret Houghton's travel insurance has left her with a hefty bill Margaret was struck down with pneumonia while away in Egypt A grandmother who contracted pneumonia while on holiday in Egypt is now facing a hefty hospital bill after her family forgot to declare some of her health conditions to their insurers. Margaret Houghton, 65, from Warrington, Cheshire, was enjoying a dream family getaway to Egypt when she fell ill with pneumonia during the final week of their two-week stay. She was taken to Sharm Peace Hospital in Sharm El-Sheikh, where her family was stunned to learn their travel insurance wouldn't cover all of her medical expenses, which have already surpassed £27,000, despite having paid a £165 premium for the policy. ‌ The family is now desperately trying to gather funds to cover Margaret's medical costs, as she may require a further two weeks in hospital due to a subsequent bacterial infection. Stay informed on the latest health news by signing up to our newsletter here . ‌ Margaret's daughter-in-law, Aileen Houghton, 41, explained that the travel insurance firm No Limits, which provides policies for travellers with pre-existing medical conditions, discovered inconsistencies when they checked Margaret's GP records. Margaret was on a dream holiday to Egypt with her husband Dave, three grandchildren, and daughter Aileen said: "My sister-in-law filled in all the travel insurance to the best of her knowledge, she's not a dishonest person, she's not like that. The travel insurance have reviewed the full GP record and my sister-in-law's mistakenly missed off some conditions, unrelated as far as I can tell as to why she's in hospital.", reports Lancs Live. Article continues below "They've said she's paid £165 and if the conditions were on it would have been £245, so it's been under-declared by 32% and they're only willing to pay 67% of the bills. My mother-in-law's on disability benefits – she doesn't have thousands of pounds, none of us do. "We've tried appealing to the travel insurance, but they're not willing to do anything. My mother-in-law is struggling to get well because she's stressing about everything and the whole family's just starting to fall apart, to be honest." Aileen explained that her mother-in-law Margaret had an extensive medical history including atrial fibrillation, esophageal dysmotility, bladder dysfunction, fibromyalgia, depression, and GORD – none of which had been disclosed to insurers – with her daughter Kate having only entered diagnoses of COPD, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and heart failure on the forms. ‌ The family has already collected over £3,000 using the fundraising platform GoFundMe – yet they still face a significant bill of at least £8,600. Now, Margaret's husband Dave and daughter Kate, who have been commuting over two hours each day to visit her, risk being fined for overstaying their Egyptian visas due to an oversight in renewal. Concerned about the financial repercussions, Aileen added: "We're worried because none of us are rich, people's jobs aren't secure. If we wipe out every bit of savings any of us have got, if one of us gets made redundant we won't be able to make mortgage payments." Article continues below No Limits Travel Insurance has yet to respond to requests for comment. The GoFundMe page is accessible here.
