OnePlus Nord CE 5 to launch on July 8: India price, specs and everything we know so far

OnePlus is preparing to unveil a wave of new products at its Summer Launch Event scheduled for July 8. While the spotlight may be on the much-anticipated Nord 5, another device in the lineup is already making waves through leaks — the OnePlus Nord CE 5. Poised to follow in the footsteps of the Nord CE 4, the upcoming smartphone is shaping up to be a compelling mid-range option, particularly for users focused on performance and battery life. While the company has kept its cards closed so far, the rumours and leaks paints a good enough picture of what is coming. Let's take a look. advertisementOnePlus Nord CE 5: What to expect Display and Design: On the front, the Nord CE 5 is rumoured to feature a 6.77-inch flat OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals and vibrant colours — perfect for binge-watching and gaming on the go. In terms of design, don't expect a radical overhaul. Much like its predecessor, the phone is expected to retain a vertical camera layout and the familiar OnePlus branding on the rear. However, we might see new colour variants introduced to freshen up the One of the standout features of the Nord CE 5 — if early leaks are to be believed — is its colossal 7,100mAh battery. This would make it one of the largest batteries in any OnePlus device to date, promising exceptional battery life for power users. And with support for 80W fast charging, topping up such a massive cell shouldn't be a painfully long process Processor and Camera: Under the hood, the device is likely to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate chipset. This same processor was seen recently in the Infinix GT 30 Pro and Motorola Edge 60 Pro, and should offer reliable mid-range performance suitable for everyday multitasking and casual photography enthusiasts, the Nord CE 5 is tipped to feature a dual rear camera system, led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor alongside an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Meanwhile, a 16-megapixel front camera is expected to handle selfies and video The phone is also said to include an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance — offering some protection against the elements, though not suited for heavy rain or full submersion. This should be enough to guard against the occasional spill or drizzle, keeping in line with other devices in the mid-tier Nord CE 5: Expected price While OnePlus has remained tight-lipped about pricing, we can look at its predecessor, the Nord CE 4, for a reasonable estimate. That model debuted in India starting at Rs 24,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version, with the higher 256GB variant priced at Rs 26,999. The Nord CE 5 is expected to follow suit, likely launching in the Rs 25,000 price range. - Ends

OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 could arrive in July: Expected features and price

OnePlus is expected to stretch its Nord series in 2025 with new smartphones like Nord 5 and Nord CE 5. Since the Chinese smartphone maker has not moved on the Nord front this year, the launch may happen anytime in early July. However, OnePlus has not officially announced the product names, launch date or place of this expected Nord 5 series launch. It did share one post on X couple of days back but deleted it later. If things go as planned, the OnePlus Nord 5 series would be an extension of Nord CE 4 and Nord 4, which were launched April and July, respectively, last year. OnePlus is known to offer value-rich phones under the Nord series to mid-segment and premium buyers in India. (For top technology news of the day, subscribe to our tech newsletter Today's Cache) Last year, both Nord CE 4 and Nord 4 used the Snapdragon processors, which are likely to continue in the Nord CE 5 and Nord 5. Battery wise, both CE 4 and Nord 4 shipped with a 5,500 mAh battery supported by a 100 W charger. In 2025, the battery power is expected to go up to 6,000 mAh. In camera, Nord CE 4 and Nord 4 had the same optical set up of a 50 MP lens and an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, along with a 16 MP front camera. Nord CE 5 and Nord 5 might have a leading 50 MP main with possible improvements in ultrawide and selfie lenses. As per trend, a 6.7 inch AMLOED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness could be a possibility in both Nord CE 5 and Nord 5. Nord 5 could cross the 30K price barrier while the Nord CE 5 is expected to have an under 25K tag in India. OnePlus has a continuing partnership with Amazon India and these phones are likely to land on the portal with availability across retail stores as well.
