"Probably about an hour or so, maybe two, before the show started," Vega said. "So it was pretty close."
She said the reality of the win did not set in until right before broadcast. Her focus was split between her match and her husband's return.
"I think that because I was so focused on my husband's return... it didn't actually come to, 'oh yeah, by the way, you're winning' until, like, maybe an hour or two before the show started," she stated.

Zelina Vega's Career-Defining Singles Championship
Vega won the championship on the April 25, 2025, episode of SmackDown. She defeated the inaugural champion, Chelsea Green, to capture the title.
This marked her first-ever singles championship win in WWE. It was a career-defining moment for the former Queen's Crown tournament winner.
Before her singles success, Vega first made a name for herself as a manager for Andrade. She also held the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship with Carmella.
While she did not win a tournament to become the inaugural Women's United States Champion, she achieved a career-defining moment on the April 25, 2025, episode of SmackDown. On that night, she defeated the first-ever champion, Chelsea Green, to capture the title.
