Crash damage repairs to affect Nottingham tram services

Tram users have been warned services in Nottingham will be affected by repair work following a crash last Express Transit (NET) said there would be no service in either direction between the Nottingham Station and Clifton South stops from about 21:00 BST on Wednesday to about 06:00 on repairs are taking place following a crash involving a car and a tram, on Queen's Walk on 2 June, which knocked over a pole supporting a power said a replacement bus service would run while the repairs are under way. However, due to a road closure on Robin Hood Way, the buses would not service stops at Queens Walk, Meadows Embankment and Wilford said the Hucknall and Toton lane tram services would operate as normal during the work, with the additional tram services terminating at Beeston Centre.A tram was derailed in the crash and police said the occupants of the car suffered minor injuries.

Ice skating legends Torvill and Dean are to be honoured twice in one day in their hometown of Nottingham to mark the final dates of their last ever tour. Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have announced that their last performance together will take place on Saturday, July 12 , in Nottingham, back in the city where it all began 50 years ago. Today, the iconic Olympic Gold medallists will be unveiling new gold signage on the Nottingham Express Transit tram which has already been named in their honour. It's been refreshed and updated to celebrate their achievements at this landmark time in their career. The celebrations will also continue at the National Ice Centre where one of the ice rinks is being named the 'Torvill & Dean Rink'. Speaking in Sarajevo last year, when the pair first announced their final tour, they told ITV News Central about what Nottingham means to them. Christopher Dean: "Nottingham is home. It feels like a warm hug. "We walk around the city and people simply say, 'hi Chris, hi Jayne'. We feel like the children of the city." Jayne Torvill said: "It's where we grew up, not many cities had an ice rink but Nottingham had a well established ice rink and there was a great interest in skating there. So I think fate had it we both grew up there." Asked whether Nottingham, and skating to a home crowd would be their favourite stop on the tour, the pair smiled and nodded. The 32-date farewell tour has seen Torvill & Dean tell the story of their amazing 50-year partnership. They've been joined on the ice by 15 professional skaters to take the audience on a journey through their career from the very beginning to the present day, with a nostalgic look at the 70s and 80s. The tour began in April, at the London OVO Arena Wembley before heading to Belfast, Sheffield, Nottingham, Birmingham, Newcastle, Liverpool, Glasgow before coming back to Nottingham.

Tram services in Nottingham will run to a revised timetable while several vehicles which are currently out-of-service undergo Express Transit (NET) said trams will run every 15 minutes between 06:00 and 07:00 BST, every 10 minutes between 07:00 and 21:00, and then every 15 minutes until services end for the new schedule takes effect on Wednesday and is expected to remain in place for four weeks, the operator said repairing the out-of-service vehicles would help provide a more robust and reliable service.

Nottingham tram operator cancels a number of rush hour services

A number of morning rush hour tram services have been cancelled following disruption on Sunday evening. Tram operator Nottingham Express Transit (NET) said services on all lines would be affected. Cancelled services include the 08:15 BST and 08:45 from Hucknall, the 07:08 and 07:38 from Toton, the 07:25 and 08:18 from Phoenix Park and the 07:22 and 08:15 from Clifton. A spokesperson said: "Our team are working hard to return trams into service." This comes after the operator announced at 19:00 on Sunday evening that all services had been cancelled due to technical problems.
