Exclusive: Leaked launch slide reveals how much Ai+ Pulse and Nova 5G smartphones will cost

Ai+, a smartphone brand part of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, will launch its first products today at an event in New Delhi, India. The brand has been teasing its Pulse and Nova 5G smartphones for some time now and has stated multiple times that they will start at INR5,000. However, a couple of launch slides we've received paint a different picture. The slides we've received from our source reveal that the Ai+ Pulse will have a base price of INR12,999, while the Ai+ Nova 5G will start at INR14,999. Leaked launch slide Neither slide includes any additional information other than showing the Pulse and Nova 5G in colors we've seen before. Leaked launch slide Ai+ hasn't detailed the specs sheets of Pulse or Nova 5G, but the brand previously confirmed that both smartphones will run NxtQuantum OS, pack 5,000 mAh batteries, and support storage expansion by up to 1TB. One of the teasers also confirmed that the two smartphones will feature 50MP cameras. Circling back to the pricing, there were rumors of a Pulse 4G, and the sub-INR10,000 price could be for that model. Moreover, we also expect Ai+ to launch a smartwatch with in-built TWS earphones today, whose image was exclusively shared by us last month; however, we haven't heard anything from the brand about it. Anyway, the launch event will begin at 12:30 PM IST (7:00 AM UTC), so there's not much waiting to find out what Ai+ has in store for us.

Madhav Sheth's NxtQuantum aims to build a global brand from India, starts with affordable AI+ smartphones

Madhav Sheth is launching the AI+ smartphones in India and plans to capture the entry-level market space. Initially, it is eyeing to capture 2-3 per cent of the total smartphone market in India, which currently stands at 150 to 160 million handsets a year, Madhav Sheth, founder & CEO of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, told ETRetail. Sheth is planning to build a global brand from India. "At present, in terms of marketing and functionality, there are 4-5 dominant brands offering products in India, but many of them are essentially backed by the same family or ecosystem. So, ideally, it is a monopolistic or duopolistic market," he stated. He said, around 80 per cent market share is controlled by, and out of that, one group alone controls more than 65 to 70 per cent market share. So, we saw the opportunity to break that monopoly. "Secondly, there is a clear purpose here. Most products have been designed for other markets and simply brought to India. There has always been overlapping specs or features, assuming demand would follow, because India is seen as a consumption economy. However, I believe the real base of 2G users in India wants to move to smartphones, and even many 4G users still do not have good options at the entry-level," he further added. The brand is launching 2 models - Pulse and Nova 5G - in five colors, starting from Rs 5,000 onwards. "We are sharp on pricing. We prefer a direct-to-retail model over multilayered distribution, which involves incentivizing middlemen and setting up expensive promotion structures. We have started with our website, where retailers can participate directly, and we will supply to them from the brand itself," he asserted. The brand is launching through 10,000 retailers directly. It will also have online exclusives through Flipkart and other platforms. Initially, it is eyeing 70 per cent of its revenue to be contributed by online channels and the remaining 30 per cent to come from offline channels. "However, that could shift as we build offline distribution," he said. After these two phones, it will be launching more ecosystem products and two more phones this year. Highlighting the other revenue models, he said, "The hardware is being commoditized. The bigger vision is software and OS - especially with a focus on data privacy. We are also launching an App Store and building a complete monetization ecosystem around the OS." "Initially, the revenue split will be 70 per cent hardware and 30 per cent services. Over time, we expect a 50-50 split," he further added. The brand, which has spent $9-10 million in R&D, will be designing and manufacturing the products in India as it has developed its own OS, firewalls, data encryption, etc, in the country itself. "Even the core servers from Google are based here in Delhi and Mumbai," he said. "We have partnered with a manufacturer and have set up a facility in Noida with 12-16 assembly lines. The capacity of the unit stands at 12,000 to 15,000 units per day, and currently, we are using about 8,000 to 10,000 units daily," he explained. The brand, which plans to play the economies-of-scale game, has already booked orders of 2 million units, amounting to Rs 1,450 crore. "We are already operating at a very tight margin of around 5 per cent and going ahead, we plan to build a global brand from India," he asserted. By the end of this fiscal year, the brand plans to foray into at least 7-8 South Asian countries.

If you are looking to buy a new phone, it might be wise to wait a few more days, as July is shaping up to be a month full of smartphone launches. While OnePlus and Samsung will be the two brands taking the spotlight, there are also a number of smaller but important launches that could offer multiple options for those looking for a new phone on a budget. Here's a look at the top upcoming phone launches in July 2025. OnePlus is all set to launch its latest entrants in the Nord series—the Nord 5 and Nord CE 5—at the Summer Launch Event on 8 July. The new phones will also be followed by the OnePlus Buds 4, the successor to last year's OnePlus Buds 3 launched alongside the OnePlus 12. The OnePlus Nord 5 is confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, while the Nord CE 5 will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate processor, previously seen in the Infinix GT 30 Pro and Motorola Edge 60 Pro. Samsung has confirmed that it will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event on 8 July. While the company hasn't officially revealed the devices it will launch, it is all but certain to unveil the new Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold lineup. Apart from the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung is also reported to be launching the Galaxy Z Flip FE and the Galaxy Watch 8 series at the event. A new Galaxy Buds lineup could also make its debut, along with potential hints about Samsung's latest One UI 8 update. Madhav Sheth-led smartphone brand AI+ will launch its first set of devices on 8 July. The first two models from the company, called Pulse and Nova 5G, will also be available on Flipkart and Shopsy. According to a dedicated Flipkart microsite for the Nova 5G, the phone will feature a 50MP primary camera and come in five colour variants. It will pack a 5,000mAh battery and support up to 1TB of expandable storage via microSD card. Tecno Pova 7 will debut in India on 4 July. The new phone will feature customisable lights around the camera module, which Tecno calls the Delta Light interface. If it follows its global counterpart, it could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate processor, feature a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and come with a 6,000mAh battery and 70W wired fast charging. Honor has confirmed it will soon launch a new smartphone in India, the Honor X9c, which will be an Amazon exclusive. While there is no confirmed launch date yet, the phone is likely to debut in July. The Honor X9c is expected to feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 4,000 nits of peak brightness. It is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
