Watch 'Night at the Museum' under the wings at the Nuclear Museum
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The National Museum of Nuclear Science and History is inviting the community out to watch a movie under the wings. On August 23, guests can watch the 2006 film 'Night at the Museum' among historic aircraft at the museum's Heritage Park. Renovations complete at an Albuquerque park Doors open at 7 p.m. and the movie will begin at dusk. The community will get a chance to enjoy the movie among aircraft including the B-29 Superfortress, the B-47 Stratojet and more. Guests are invited to show up early and enjoy food trucks, a live DJ, beverages and beer. Attendees will also have a chance to explore the museum before the movie starts. You are encouraged to bring your own portable outdoor chairs, as sitting on the ground at Heritage Park is not comfortable. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online in advance. Training camp kicks off for participation in International Nuclear Science Olympiad in Malaysia
Muscat: The Ministry of Education on Wednesday launched the central training camp for the national team participating in the International Nuclear Science Olympiad in Bangi, Malaysia. The competition, in its second edition, will take place from 31 July to 5 August 2025, and will feature four students from the educational directorates of Muscat, North Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhiliyah, and South Al Batinah. Organized by the Department of Innovation and Scientific Olympiad, the camp includes theoretical training on solving nuclear science Olympiad problems, practical training on experiments in nuclear physics, solving high-level exercises and problems, and honing skills in tackling complex challenges. The programme aims to enhance students' abilities in handling advanced problems through intensive drills that simulate the Olympiad's format, equipping them with the tools needed for outstanding performance in the competition. The International Nuclear Science Olympiad, organised by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is a global contest designed to raise awareness about the peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology. It encourages students with a passion for the field to develop independent and innovative solutions to nuclear science and technology challenges. The Olympiad also focuses on disseminating knowledge and deepening understanding of nuclear science and technology to promote a scientific approach toward its uses and applications. Additionally, it seeks to foster interest in the field among secondary school students worldwide.
