Man Fatally Stabbed Outside Luxury Hotel in London's Knightsbridge District

— A 24-year-old man has died following a stabbing incident that took place outside the five-star Park Tower Hotel in Knightsbridge, west London, on Wednesday night. Emergency services — including the Metropolitan Police, paramedics, and London's Air Ambulance — rushed to Seville Street just before 9:30 p.m. BST, where the man was found with multiple knife wounds. Despite the efforts of medics at the scene, the victim was pronounced dead shortly after. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that no arrests have been made so far and that an investigation is underway to determine the motive and exact circumstances surrounding the attack. A spokesperson for the Park Tower Hotel emphasized that neither the hotel's guests nor staff were involved in the incident. The crime scene, located near luxury boutiques and high-end restaurants — including Nusr-Et Steakhouse, owned by celebrity chef Nusret Gökçe ('Salt Bae') — was cordoned off by police. Bouquets of flowers have since been laid at the site in tribute to the victim. Superintendent Owen Renowden of the Kensington and Chelsea Police said: 'We are aware of reports suggesting this may have been a robbery, but we are keeping an open mind. Our priority now is to uncover the full picture of what happened.' London's Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, Kaya Comer-Schwartz, condemned the violence, stating: 'This appalling act highlights the urgent need to tackle knife crime. There will be increased high-visibility police patrols in the area.' The victim's family has been notified and is receiving support from specially trained officers. This incident comes amid growing concerns over violent crime in central London. In a similarly tragic event in 2021, Omani student Mohammed Al-Araimi was fatally stabbed near Harrods in an attempted robbery. His attacker was sentenced to a minimum of 27 years in prison. Police are urging anyone with information about Wednesday's incident to come forward.

The Saddest Restaurant Closures to Know in Los Angeles, June 2025

Los Angeles's restaurants continue to face difficult headwinds, starting in 2020 with the onset of a global pandemic and exacerbating with the Hollywood labor strikes in 2023 , which led to an industry-wide slowdown that's continued into 2025. From the lingering impacts of the Hollywood strikes to adverse weather and increased costs (labor, rent, ingredients, etc.), many variables continue to batter restaurant owners who operate on razor-thin margins. Los Angeles restaurants also continue to struggle with the impact from the 2025 fires , including slow business and devastating property loss. Here are notable restaurant closures for June. For more closure news, visit our 2024 round-up . Nusr-Et— Nusret Gökçe, better known as Salt Bae, has sprinkled his last steaks in Los Angeles. The Beverly Hills outpost of Gökçe's global steakhouse chain, Nusr-Et, suddenly closed on June 4, four years after opening in 2021. The closure comes as the restaurant chain eyes further international expansion into markets including Mexico City, Rome, and Ibiza. Bang Bang Noodles— Chinese hand-pulled noodle shop Bang Bang Noodles has shuttered its location in Culver City's Citizens Public Market. Born as a pop-up in 2020, the Culver City location was the first permanent outpost for Bang Bang Noodles and its signature tingly cumin lamb noodles tossed in chile oil. The Downtown location of Bang Bang Noodles remains open. Verve— Verve Coffee Roasters closed its Downtown LA location on June 1, marking the end of a decade in the neighborhood. The Santa Cruz-based coffee roaster opened its Spring Street cafe in January 2015, serving a signature lineup of coffee drinks made with its own beans, as well as pastries, and juices from Juice Served Here. The cafe's closure was announced in an Instagram post, which reads, 'While the evolving landscape of Downtown has made it no longer sustainable for us to continue operating at this location, we remain deeply committed to our LA community.' Luckily, Verve has another location just a few miles away in the Arts District. Here's Looking at You— Groundbreaking restaurant Here's Looking at You closed on June 13 after almost a decade on Sixth Street in Koreatown. The restaurant, opened by the late chef Jonathan Whitener and Lien Ta, has occupied its corner of Los Angeles since 2016, serving an ever-evolving menu of cross-cultural dishes like uni panna cotta and salsa-negra-crusted frogs' legs alongside an inventive cocktail program to match. The closure coincided with the end of a 10-year lease on the building. Elf Cafe— Echo Park restaurant Elf Cafe closed after 19 years on June 1. Scott Zwiezen and his bandmates Astara Calas and Evan Haros, first opened Elf as a vegan restaurant in 2006, serving a Mediterranean-ish menu, with dishes like a vegetable tagine and morel risotto. In 2020, amid COVID-19, Elf suspended operations indefinitely, transforming into a space for roving pop-ups, before reopening in early 2023. Zwiezen says that over the years, the restaurant has shifted into a place that people only go to for special occasions, instead of a daily stop, though he doesn't point to one specific reason for the closure. La Azteza Tortilleria— Legendary Boyle Heights burrito stand closed its original location on Caesar Chavez Boulevard on June 13. But not all hope is lost — the restaurant has relocated permanently to its second location less than two miles away on Atlantic and Beverly Boulevards. See More:

The Champions League final football match, held in Munich, was between the French team Paris Saint-Germain, which defeated the Italian team Inter Milan with a historic score of 5-0 and won the Champions League trophy for the first time. 🔴 Salt Bae İmparatoru ÜNLÜ Nusret Gökçe; Ünsüz kapı görevlisi tarafından partiden kovuldu. —————————————————— ukrayna torreira ruslar sinem chp'liler venüs karadeniz nusret fikret orman hikmet çetin volkan demirel melih gökçek rusya nükleer orda ohaa boey zelenski avrupa ligi… June 1, 2025 Nusret Gökçe tried to convince the security team to enter the party without an invitation, but he failed, and the security team had to push Gökçe away to force him to back away, as he did not want to leave the door. Earlier, Turkish chef Saly Bae crashed into the field after the 2022 World Cup final match between Argentina and France. He took photos with the players and lifted the World Cup court. Salt Bae in talks for steakhouses in Jeddah, Makkah and Neom

Few chefs are recognisable from a single pose. Strut forward, Salt Bae. Now, the Turkish chef has revealed his desire to expand in Saudi Arabia, and open restaurants in Jeddah, Makkah and Neom. While the details have not yet been confirmed, here's what we do know. Salt Bae, real name Nusret Gökçe, told Arabian Business : 'We're in talks with the Saudis about the future. We will come back soon and strong. We decided we must open in a better location. I want to open in Mecca and Jeddah first. Once those are successful, we'll move into the new Neom project.' In November 2021, he opened Nusr-Et Steakhouse in U Walk, Riyadh. The restaurant closed in April 2024, and he's now looking for a new location. The concept is famous for its luxurious offerings, including steaks, spaghetti, and ribs. Nusret hails from Senkaya, Turkey. In 2010, he opened his first restaurant in Istanbul. In 2014, he opened a restaurant in Dubai, which remains one of his most popular restaurants worldwide. He has venues across the globe, including Doha, London, and Los Angeles. Over the years (and sprinkles of salt), he has amassed a substantial social media following—53 million followers and counting. Videos and images of the chef seasoning food in his unique way have gone viral, making him one of the world's most talked-about foodie stars. Plus, his ponytail, white T-shirt, and round sunglasses have added to the allure and created his signature image. Check in with FACT for the latest things to do in Saudi Arabia.
