Oman: Rains expected in Dhofar and Al Hajar

Muscat: There has been a continued influx of high and medium clouds over Oman's skies with chances of scattered rainfall along the Arabian Sea coasts and parts of the desert areas of the Dhofar and Al Wusta governorates. There are chances of rising dust and sand in the desert areas of Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates. Today, Monday, the Oman Met Office has said in its weather forecast that there are opportunities for the formation of cumulonimbus clouds that could result in thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by active downdrafts, that will continue over parts of Al Hajar Mountains and adjacent areas, as well as parts of the Dhofar Governorate. Meanwhile, Dam Wa At Taiyyin recorded the highest temperature in the country with 46.8 degrees Celsius. The general weather forecast stated that partly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected over the coastal areas of the Dhofar governorate that could result in intermittent drizzle. Clear skies are expected to prevail over the rest of the governorates with medium and high cloud advection. Low clouds/fog patches are expected late at night and early in the morning over the coastal areas of the Arabian Sea and Oman Sea. Oman: Tourism firms, hotels must display their licence prominently, MHT

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) has notified that essential for tourism and hotel companies to list their license in a prominent place within the establishment, as well as on their websites and social media accounts. The decision is based on the Tourism Law issued by Royal Decree 69/2023 and the Executive Regulations issued by Ministerial Resolution No. (39/2016), and concerning the Ministry's Circular No. 2023/32/6421 100 dated January 8, 2025. The firms should display the tourism license in a prominent place within the establishment, publishing the license data on the establishment's official websites and listing the license on the establishment's social media accounts. MUSCAT: The official price of Oman oil for September delivery reached $70.89 on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. The price of Oman oil yesterday increased by $1.18 compared to Monday's price of $69.71. The monthly average price of Omani crude oil for July delivery reached $63.62 per barrel, a decrease of $4.25 compared to the price for June delivery. Meanwhile, international oil prices retreated on Tuesday, having climbed almost 2% in the previous session, as investors assessed the latest developments on US tariffs and a higher than expected increase to Opec+ output for August. Brent crude futures fell 12 cents, or about 0.2%, to $69.54 a barrel by 1043 GMT. Oman: Maritime activity restricted during rocket test off Al Wusta coast

Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) announced temporary restrictions on marine activity off the Al Wusta coast as Oman prepares for a rocket test launch. The launch of "Duqm-2' rocket into space will take place from Al Khal area in the Wilayat of al Jazir and Hitam area in the Wilayat of al Duqm. The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology said the launch is scheduled between 12:00 am to 6:00 am on ( 5, 6, 8, 9 July 2025). Meanwhile, the MAFWR noted that fishing and marine activities will be restricted to ensure safety. According to officials, the rocket's drop zone is expected to remain within 500 metres of the launch site.
