North Carolina teenager suffers unimaginable horror while sunbathing at the beach

A 15-year-old girl was hospitalized after a pickup truck performing beach survey work ran over her legs while she was sunbathing on a public beach in Oak Island, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred around 2:11 p.m. on July 14 when Oak Island Public Safety officials responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle operating on the sand between Keziah Street and Womble Street. The teen, whose identity has not been released, was evaluated on-scene for possible non-life-threatening injuries and later transported to Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center in Bolivia for further evaluation 'out of caution,' officials said. The vehicle - a 2020 GMC pickup - belongs to TI Coastal Services, a private contractor conducting beach survey work for engineering firm Moffatt & Nichol, according to a press release from the Town of Oak Island. The work is part of preparations for the 2025–26 Beach Nourishment Project, which includes land and sea surveying. Police have not indicated whether any charges are being considered against the driver. Town officials have since addressed growing misinformation online, stating clearly that the Oak Island Beach Safety Unit was not involved in the incident. 'It has been erroneously reported on social media and other platforms that this accident was caused by the Town's Beach Safety Unit during its regular patrols. This information is false and should not be shared,' the town said in a statement. 'Claims such as this can quickly cause the spread of misinformation, and lead to a dangerous lack of trust in first responders.' The beach survey work began on July 7 and is expected to continue through mid-July. Town officials said the project had been publicly announced in advance via newsletters and official notices. No further details have been released regarding the teen's condition or whether the contractor has responded to the incident, according to Fox News. TI Coastal Services has not commented publicly. Daily Mail has reached out to TI Coastal Services for comment. The investigation remains ongoing. The terrifying incident comes just months after pair of teens, 14 and 15 years old were run over by a lifeguard at Nokomis Beach in Sarasota County. The two teens were lying on the beach when the lifeguard who was driving a Ford-150 pickup truck 'was moving slowly over the crest of the berm,' The guard told Fox13 at the time that he 'never saw any obstructions,' adding that 'his view was very limited by the hood of the pickup truck.' He told the outlet that he 'felt two bumps and stopped, realizing he had struck something, and he saw that he had run over two juveniles as he opened the truck's door. Both were lying down in the sand at an angle.' The beach staffer then immediately called 911 and began rendering aid to the injured teens. One teen was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, complaining of pain in her neck, left shoulder, left side and left hip, Fox13 reported. The other teen was taken by Aeromed to All Children's Hospital. She advised that she heard the truck coming, but believed the sound was coming from the parking lot to the East rather than the beach to the west of them. The teen's mother said she suffered a broken pelvis and was being kept overnight to evaluate the status of her lungs and liver.

Teen run over by a truck while sunbathing on the beach

The driver of a pickup truck allegedly ran over the legs of a 15-year-old girl lying on the beach in Oak Island, North Carolina. Oak Island Public Safety officials were dispatched to a public beach on Monday just after 2 p.m. while responding to reports of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle driving on the beach, according to a press release. Upon arrival, authorities located the victim, who was evaluated on-scene for "possible non-life-threatening injuries" after the vehicle apparently ran over her legs. Authorities transported the victim to a nearby hospital "out of caution," city officials said in the press release. "The vehicle, a 2020 model GMC pickup truck, belongs to TI Coastal Services, a private contractor conducting Beach Survey work for engineering firm Moffatt & Nichol, in preparation for the upcoming 2025 / 26 Beach Nourishment Project," Oak Island said in the press release. "The Survey began on July 7 and is intended to last two weeks." Fox News Digital reached out to TI Coastal Services for comment. The project, which includes both land and sea surveying, was scheduled to take place between June 30 and July 7. The city quashed false reports that the town's Beach Safety Unit caused the accident, saying that information spread on social media and other platforms is "FALSE and should NOT be shared if viewed online." "Claims such as this can quickly cause the spread of misinformation, and lead to a dangerous lack of trust in first responders," the city said. "As with any claim of such a serious nature, it is always important to remember to evaluate the source of the information before sharing or forming opinions."

'Revival' (with Shane Gillis, Bruce Springsteen and The Lumineers) Zach Bryan new music The 28-year-old released his fifth studio album 'The Great American Bar Scene' on Independence Day 2024. Clocking in at 63 minutes — yet never even coming close to wearing out its welcome — the earnest, warts-and-all singer delivers more of his no-frills, middle-American poetry that celebrates life's small pleasures and devastating heartbreaks. After a few plays, our team fell in love with the spoken word, chills-inducing lead track 'Lucky Enough (Poem)' as well as the harmonica-heavy 'The Great American Bar Scene' and rousing Springsteen-esque 'American Nights.' The show-stopping 'Oak Island,' twinkly 'Bass Boat' and the Springsteen duet 'Sandpaper' also stand out. However, 'Towers,' a hair-raising gospel tune, towers above the rest of the album. Fingers crossed, it becomes a tour staple complete with a choir. Want to hear for yourself? You can give 'The Great American Bar Scene' a spin here. More recently, he's dropped seven singles — 'Blue Jean Baby,' 'Rattlesnake,' 'Dear Miss,' 'Memphis: The Blues,' 'Streets of London,' 'River Washed Hair' and 'A Song For You' — that run the gamut of human emotion. Click here to find them all on Spotify. Kings Of Leon The Followill brothers are headliners in their own right. Kings Of Leon — known for mega hits 'Sex On Fire,' 'Use Somebody' and 'Pyro' among others — took their latest album 'Can We Please Have Fun' on the road in 2024 and played arenas and amphitheaters all over North America. If you want to catch up with their new stuff or listen to their all-timer classics once again, you can find Kings Of Leon's entire discography here.
