More than 100 golfers compete in two-day Oake Manor event

The two-day competition, across the weekend of June 21 and 22, saw "stormy performances" from players on the course, which was in "fantastic condition." Advertisement Saturday's pairs better ball medal competition saw Jack Jones and Sam Prior achieve the top score with a nett 60. On Sunday, Paul Coleman and Richard Cornell scored 47 points in the pairs better ball Stableford. However, it was Harry Storey and Logan Thomas who were crowned the overall winners of the Terence Ball Memorial Trophy. They were 18 under par over the weekend. The runners-up were John Lowe and Mark Wooliscroft, who were 17 under par, while Mike How and Peter Jeanes came third, also at 17 under par. Prizes were awarded for the top 10 positions in the 36-hole competition, with sponsored spot prizes on nine of the holes each day. "Congratulations to all the winners." The busy week continued with a ladies' medal competition on Tuesday, June 24. Janet Howe won division one with a nett 69, closely followed by Kathryn Salway with a nett 70 and Amanda Mather with a nett 74. Ros Shepherd took the division two title with a nett 69, while Patricia Campbell and Sally Jackson came second and third with nett 71. Anthony Date claimed victory in the midweek Stableford competition on Wednesday, June 25, scoring 21 points in division one. Advertisement Mark Gladstone-Smith and Mark Popham were second and third, with 21 and 20 points, respectively. Carl Puzey won division two with 21 points, followed by Sam Prior and Oliver Nott with 20 points each. The week concluded with another nine-hole Stableford competition on Friday, June 27. Tom Richarson took first place with 20 points, while Logan Thomas and Neil Mason completed the top three with 19 and 18 points, respectively.

Thomas Clarke won division two on Saturday, June 14, finishing three points ahead of Martin Ayliffe, who came second with 43 points. Advertisement Christopher Dubery secured third place with 42 points. Owen Irish took the division one title with 39 points, narrowly beating Matthew Pyke on countback. Mark Tydings finished third with 38 points. In the Sunday Stableford competition on June 15, Dennis Lumley emerged victorious with 42 points. Callum Foster and Calum Pinn followed closely behind, scoring 40 and 39 points respectively. The seniors section had a "a bit of fun" in their Stableford competition on Monday, June 16. They played from the ladies' red tees, which made the course 500 yards shorter than usual. John Wall won division one with 39 points, with Edward Winter and Peter Matthews coming second and third. Advertisement Terry Brown was the division two winner with 38 points. Ian Hockey and Graham Jones were second and third respectively. Ladies' vice-captain Mary Beakes won the Tuesday Stableford competition on June 17 with 40 points. Julie Cross and Jane Clist followed in division one, while Judith Phripp, Ros Shepherd, and Jenny Swann topped division two. Paul Hadley Jnr scored 43 points to win the midweek Stableford competition. Andy Stevenson and Eamon Leigh finished second and third with 42 and 40 points respectively.
