Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide, justice department and FBI review confirms
A review of files held by the US government on the financier Jeffrey Epstein has said there is no secret client list to be released, and confirmed his August 2019 death by suicide while in federal custody, both of which contradict conspiracy theories. A memo said that a Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) review of the files – which has for years been teased as a treasure trove of information about a larger network of wrongdoing – concluded that no further charges are expected, as investigators 'did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties'. The justice department also released hours of footage taken from Manhattan's metropolitan correctional center, showing that no one entered or left the area where Epstein was held during, before or after the time medical examiners concluded he took his life. 'As part of our commitment to transparency, the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have conducted an exhaustive review of investigative holdings relating to Jeffrey Epstein,' the DOJ said. It added that the review included 'digital searches of its databases, hard drives, and network drives as well as physical searches of squad areas, locked cabinets, desks, closets, and other areas where responsive material may have been stored'. The department said it had uncovered 'a significant amount of material', including more than 300 gigabytes of data and physical evidence that included 'a large volume of images of Epstein, images and videos of victims who are either minors or appear to be minors, and over ten thousand downloaded videos and images of illegal child sex abuse material and other pornography'. 'Through this review, we found no basis to revisit the disclosure of those materials and will not permit the release of child pornography,' the memo said. Nor, the statement continued, did the review uncover an incriminating 'client list' or find credible evidence that Epstein was involved in blackmailing prominent individuals. No further charges are expected in connection with the investigations into Epstein, the memo said, as investigators 'did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties'. The attorney general, Pam Bondi, had previously promised the public release of scores of records related to Epstein, but an earlier release of documents did nothing to advance the conspiracy narratives that have emerged since his death. Soon after the memo was made public by Axios, and later by the independent journalist Jessica Reed Kraus on Substack, Elon Musk voiced his disappointment, posting an image to the social platform X of 'The Official Jeffrey Epstein Pedophile Arrest Counter,' set to '0000'. 'What's the time? Oh look, it's no-one-has-been-arrested-o'clock again,' Musk captioned the photo. The billionaire CEO of Tesla, who is feuding with Donald Trump after his work to gut federal government spending through the 'department of government efficiency' (Doge) seemed to run counter to Trump's recent bill that will massively increase the deficit, has previously intimated that Epstein file releases promised by the justice department had been stalled because Trump himself was implicated. 'Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,' he wrote. 'That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT.' Trump dismissed Musk's claims to NBC News: 'That's called 'old news.' That's been old news. That has been talked about for years. Even Epstein's lawyer said I had nothing to do with it – it's old news,' he said. The justice department also said its review of the files was consistent with prior disclosures on the case and its review confirmed that Epstein harmed over one thousand victims. 'Each suffered unique trauma. Sensitive information relating to these victims is intertwined throughout the materials. This includes specific details such as victim names and likenesses, physical descriptions, places of birth, associates, and employment history. 'One of our highest priorities is combatting child exploitation and bringing justice to victims. Perpetuating unfounded theories about Epstein serves neither of those ends.'

‘How can people have faith in Trump if...': Musk says his America Party will release Epstein files
Elon Musk says one of the main goals of his new political party, the 'America Party,' will be to reveal the names on sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's client list. read more Tesla CEO and billionaire Elon Musk says revealing the names on sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's client list will be a top goal for his new political party, the 'America Party.' Epstein was jailed in Florida in 2008 for soliciting sex from underage girls. He was arrested again in 2019 on federal charges of sex trafficking minors but died in jail shortly afterward. On Tuesday, Musk questioned how Americans can trust President Donald Trump if he doesn't release documents linked to Epstein. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'How can people be expected to have faith in Trump if he won't release the Epstein files?' Musk wrote on X. They arrested (and killed) Peanut, but have not even tried to file charges against anyone on the Epstein client list. Government is deeply broken. — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 8, 2025 He confirmed that exposing Epstein's files is a high priority for the America Party, which he launched on Saturday. Earlier, on Monday, Musk mocked Trump on X, posting an image titled 'The Official Jeffrey Epstein Pedophile Arrest Counter,' displaying the number '0000' to suggest no arrests have been made related to the case under Trump's watch. Elon Musk has repeatedly criticised Donald Trump's administration for how it handled the Jeffrey Epstein case. According to AFP, a memo released on Sunday by Trump's Justice Department and the FBI said there's no evidence that Epstein kept a 'client list' or was blackmailing powerful people. Officials also rejected claims that Epstein was murdered in jail, confirming his death was a suicide, and said no further information from the investigation would be released. Earlier, before this election, Trump had said he would have 'no problem' releasing files related to Epstein's case.

Musk vs Trump season 2: Tesla boss reveals his American Party's No 1 priority
— elonmusk (@elonmusk) Live Events — elonmusk (@elonmusk) (You can now subscribe to our (You can now subscribe to our Economic Times WhatsApp channel Tesla CEO Elon Musk has made it clear that one of the top priorities of his newly launched political movement, the America Party , will be the public release of files related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Musk intensified his criticism of President Donald Trump , questioning his failure to release Epstein-related documents. "How can people be expected to have faith in Trump if he won't release the Epstein files?" Musk an X user asked whether uncovering Epstein's secrets would be a high priority for the America Party, Musk responded with a '💯' emoji—signaling a resounding who was facing federal charges for sex trafficking, died in a New York jail cell in 2019 under suspicious circumstances that have fueled years of speculation and conspiracy this week, Musk further trolled Trump, posting an image labeled 'The Official Jeffrey Epstein Pedophile Arrest Counter'—with all zeros—alongside the caption: "What's the time? Oh look, it's no-one-has-been-arrested-o'clock again."Musk's public fallout with Trump appears to be escalating rapidly. After Republicans passed a controversial policy bill backed by Trump, Musk vowed to support primary challengers against GOP members who voted in favor. In response, Trump lashed out on Truth Social, dismissing the America Party as 'ridiculous' and Musk as a 'train wreck.''He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States,' Trump wrote. 'The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of COMPLETE and TOTAL DISRUPTION & CHAOS.'According to The Hill, Musk launched the America Party after polling X users about their desire to break free from the 'two-party (some would say uniparty) system.' He wrote: "When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom."The Musk-Trump rift marks a dramatic shift in their relationship. Trump had previously praised Musk's cost-cutting efforts and even awarded him a symbolic 'gold key' to the White House. At one point, Musk held a role within the now-defunct Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), with an office in the West Wing and participation in Cabinet Trump has hinted at using the same agency to target Musk's companies and even floated the idea of deporting the South African-born billionaire.

MAGA influencers fume over DOJ's Epstein memo
Right-wing influencers who have long promoted conspiracy theories about convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein are turning their ire on the Trump administration over a new Department of Justice memo seeking to debunk those theories. The memo released Monday said there was no evidence Epstein kept a 'client list,' nor that he sought to blackmail powerful figures implicated in his crimes. It also confirmed the notorious financier died by suicide, rebutting theories that he was secretly murdered. Many of President Trump's staunchest MAGA backers were not convinced, blasting Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel and his deputy Dan Bongino for the findings. 'This is the swamp winning. The question is, is Trump's DOJ actually using this to control the deep state, or are they just so overwhelmed by it they are tapping out?' far-right radio host Alex Jones asked in a ten-minute reaction video that included him breaking down into tears. The memo — first reported late Sunday night by Axios — came after Bondi had previously said the Epstein client list was on her desk. The White House said Monday she was referring more generally to paperwork about his crimes. That did not stop MAGA influencers from suggesting Trump's DOJ was participating in a cover-up they had previously pinned mostly on Democrats. 'The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command,' wrote Benny Johnson, a popular conservative commentator, quoting George Orwell. 'Please tell this is fake news,' pleaded user Catturd, a pro-Trump X account with millions of followers. Trump ally Laura Loomer demanded Monday that Bondi resign, calling her an 'abomination.' 'The American people and MAGA base will not tolerate being lied to,' the far-right influencer wrote in a Twitter post. 'Pam Bondi is just keeping the tens of thousands of child porn videos for herself,' right-wing podcaster Tim Pool wrote. Billionaire Elon Musk also used Epstein's client list as a cudgel against the president during their public Twitter spat in early June, alleging that Trump had ties to the convicted sex offender. He again trolled the president on Monday, posting an image of 'The Official Jeffrey Epstein Pedophile Arrest Counter,' set to '0000.' Press Secretary Karoline Levitt defended the administration's findings during a Monday press briefing. 'This administration wants anyone who has ever committed a crime to be held accountable,' she said. 'They committed to an exhaustive investigation. That's what they did, and they provided the results of that.' The memo follows the February release of government documents on Epstein that Bondi trumpeted as increasing transparency. Those documents, which included flight logs and a redacted address book, did not include any significant revelations. 'We were all told more was coming,' lamented right-wing commentator Jack Posobiec. 'That answers were out there and would be provided. Incredible how utterly mismanaged this Epstein mess has been.' Blogger Mike Cernovich was one of few voices to go directly after the president. 'No one is believing the Epstein coverup, @realDonaldTrump,' he posted. 'This will be part of your legacy. There's still time to change it!'

Musk tweaks Trump with Jeffrey Epstein post
Tech billionaire Elon Musk trolled President Trump early Monday with a post knocking the administration for making no arrests related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. Musk, Trump's former ally-turned-foe, posted an image to the social platform X of 'The Official Jeffrey Epstein Pedophile Arrest Counter,' set to '0000.' 'What's the time? Oh look, it's no-one-has-been-arrested-o'clock again …,' Musk captioned the photo. The post came after Axios reported on a new memo Sunday evening revealing the Justice Department and FBI have concluded there is no evidence that Epstein, a convicted sex offender, blackmailed powerful figures or kept a 'client list,' as many conspiracy theories suggest. The memo, according to Axios, also says there's no evidence to suggest Epstein was murdered — supporting a medical examiner's report that he died by suicide in a Manhattan jail in 2019. According to the news outlet, the two-page memo also suggests no one else involved in the Epstein case will be charged. The Hill has reached out to the Justice Department for comment. Trump's feud with Musk came to a head last month, when the Tesla chief executive said it was time to drop 'the really big bomb.' '[Trump] is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public,' Musk wrote on X at the time. 'Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out,' Musk followed up, minutes later. Trump, before he was elected in November, said he would have 'no problem' releasing files related to Epstein, something some lawmakers and many on social media have called for after the financier's death. The president last year denied any connection to Epstein, writing on social media, 'I was never on Epstein's Plane, or at his 'stupid' Island. Strong Laws ought to be developed against A.I. It will be a big and very dangerous problem in the future!' Musk's allegation last month came just minutes after Trump threatened to cancel government contracts with his 2024 campaign's largest contributor's companies. Earlier on Sunday, Trump issued a lengthy post attacking Musk for calling for a third party, saying, 'I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely 'off the rails,' essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks.' 'He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States – The System seems not designed for them,' he added. 'The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds!'
