Bob Dylan's Supergroup Scores A New Hit Album, Decades After Splitting Up

Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 debuts at No. 32 on the Official Album Downloads chart while also ... More returning to several other lists, as the supergroup experiences a surge. Musicians (L-R) Tom Petty and Bob Dylan, with the band 'Traveling Wilburys', performing on stage, 1987. (Photo by) Of all the supergroups in rock music history, one stands out as particularly memorable. Thanks to the two projects the band produced during the few years it was together — and the superstars who formed it — the Traveling Wilburys truly put the 'super' in supergroup. The band included George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, and Roy Orbison. Expectations were high before the act debuted, and the celebrated composers and songwriters didn't miss with either of the two albums released between 1988 and 1990. Decades after the band split, the first of those titles is enjoying a sudden surge in activity, as fans in the United Kingdom continue to purchase it and show their love. Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 Debuts Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 opens at No. 32 on the Official Album Downloads chart this week. The project becomes just the second release from the supergroup that has appeared on the ranking, which looks only at the most successful titles on platforms like iTunes and Amazon within the U.K. Almost 20 Years Since Its Last Appearance It's been almost two decades since the Traveling Wilburys last showed up on the Official Album Downloads chart. Collection, which the group released long after it was no more, hit No. 2 on that tally after debuting in the summer of 2007. A Triple Chart Return for the Wilburys As Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 debuts on the downloads list, it also reenters both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts, landing at Nos. 77 and 93, respectively. The full-length reaches a new high point on the Official Albums Sales ranking as it finds its way back. The full-length opened at No. 81 in February 2023 and is now back and bigger than ever. A Companion Collection Reappears Fans of the Traveling Wilburys — or followers of any of the five legendary musicians in the lineup — have also returned to the simply-titled Collection. As Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 opens on the Official Album Downloads chart, Collection reappears on the same ranking, coming in just two spaces below the new arrival at No. 34. Collection originally opened in the runner-up spot in June 2007, when it ran on that tally for a month. The set returned a decade later, and now — eight years after that — it's back inside the top 40 once again.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 02: Billie Eilish performs onstage during the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards at Arena on February 02, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo byfor The Recording Academy) Billie Eilish is currently in the middle of her Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour, which began in September 2024 and is set to run until almost the end of 2025. The singer started July by playing two shows in Glasgow, Scotland, before heading to London for six nights at The O2 Arena. Later this month, she'll trek to Manchester and headline four dates in that city, before flying to Dublin. From there, she'll travel to Japan and then launch another leg throughout the United States before the year is over. To celebrate Eilish's tour hitting the United Kingdom, fans in the country have been consuming all three of her albums in huge numbers. Interestingly, her debut full-length is the greatest gainer at the moment, even though her current trek focuses on the music presented on her third project, Hit Me Hard and Soft. Billie Eilish's Debut Album Returns in a Big Way When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, the project that introduced Eilish to the world more than half a decade ago, currently appears on four charts in the U.K. The bestselling effort returns to all four as streams and sales of the full-length grew considerably. When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? lands at No. 82 on the Official Albums chart, a general consumption tally, and reenters lowest at No. 92 on the Official Albums Sales list. It also appears on both the Official Physical Albums and Official Albums Streaming rosters, in positions between those two numbers. Years on the Charts for Billie Eilish's First Album In the past, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? has reached No. 1 on all four charts, but the length of time it has spent on each varies widely. Among the four tallies where Eilish's debut project can be found, it has spent the least amount of time on the Official Albums Sales list, racking up 167 frames. The full-length is now up to 265 stays on the Official Albums Streaming roster — almost exactly 100 weeks longer than on the main sales ranking. All Three of Billie Eilish's Albums Live on the Charts All three of Eilish's albums — When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, Happier Than Ever, and Hit Me Hard and Soft — appear on multiple charts in the U.K. at the moment. While the first of the bunch enjoys the greatest comeback, it also appears on the fewest tallies and ranks the lowest. Meanwhile, Hit Me Hard and Soft nears the top 10 on several.

JANUARY 1975: Lynyrd Skynyrd (L-R Ed King, Leon Wilkeson, Artimus Pyle, Billy Powell, Allen Collins, Ronnie Van Zandt and Gary Rossington pose for a portrait in January 1975. (Photo by Michael) More than half a century after Lynyrd Skynyrd released its debut album Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd, the band still claims a global fanbase. The Southern rock outfit remains so beloved that even retrospective live collections can become commercial wins, which is a relatively uncommon feat for most acts, especially those that have been around as long as Lynyrd Skynyrd. The band's reach extends to the United Kingdom, where this week the group earns a brand new win on the charts. Celebrating 50 Years: Live at the Ryman Debuts on the Charts Celebrating 50 Years: Live at the Ryman debuts on two purchase-focused tallies in the U.K. This week, the set opens at No. 47 on the Official Physical Albums chart and No. 51 on the Official Albums Sales list. The latter roster, which isn't limited to any one genre, language, or format, is where the band collects its most exciting placement at the moment. Lynyrd Skynyrd's First Bestselling Album More than 50 years into its time as a band, Lynyrd Skynyrd earns its first hit on the Official Albums Sales chart. Celebrating 50 Years becomes the group's debut bestselling effort in the U.K. It's worth noting that for many years, the Official Albums chart — the main ranking of the most consumed titles in the country — was powered solely by sales, until streaming activity was factored in. Once that change occurred, the Official Albums Sales list was introduced, long after some of Lynyrd Skynyrd's biggest wins. One of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Top Performers Out of the six projects that Lynyrd Skynyrd has sent to the Official Physical Albums chart in the 20 years since Greatest Hits debuted, Celebrating 50 Years ties as the group's third-highest-peaking effort. Opening at No. 47, it matches the band's Greatest Hits collection and trails only another greatest hits set, which peaked at No. 16, and God & Guns, which debuted and stalled at No. 35 more than 15 years ago.

Duran Duran's Album Debuts On Multiple Charts — A Quarter-Century After It Dropped

Duran Duran's Greatest compilation debuts at No. 5 on the U.K.'s Official Vinyl Albums chart and No. ... More 9 on the Official Albums Sales chart after a special vinyl reissue. (MANDATORY CREDIT David Tan/) Duran Duran on a street corner in NYC, NYC, September 1981. (Photo by David Tan/) Duran Duran first hit it big in the early 1980s, when the English new wave act scored some of the biggest smash singles in the world across more than a decade. Unlike so many groups from that era, the Grammy winners have continued to regularly put out new music, while also revisiting past smashes. The band is back on the charts in its home country with a compilation originally released more than a quarter-century ago, which manages to debut – not return – inside the highest tier on multiple rankings. Duran Duran's Greatest Appears on Multiple Charts Duran Duran's simply-titled compilation Greatest appears on a trio of tallies this frame. The set was recently issued on vinyl for the very first time, and the project arrived with a special embossed cover and was pressed on double white vinyl, which was apparently of great interest to superfans of the pop group. Greatest debuts on two of the three charts on which it can be found in the United Kingdom this week. The set opens at No. 5 on the Official Vinyl Albums ranking and No. 9 on the Official Albums Sales chart. At the same time, the compilation reenters the Official Physical Albums list at No. 9. Greatest has already spent 68 weeks on that tally, and has previously peaked at No. 4. Duran Duran's Fourth Career Top 10 on the Sales Chart Duran Duran earns its fourth career top 10 on the Official Albums Sales chart. The group has collected just one more win inside that competitive region on the Official Vinyl Albums ranking. Duran Duran's Recent Successful Albums It has been less than two years since Duran Duran earned a new top 10 on both of the charts where Greatest debuts this frame. Back in November 2023, Danse Macabre launched and immediately reached the uppermost tier. Since then, the band has sent several other collections to both the Official Albums Sales and Official Vinyl Albums lists, but none have quite managed to crack the top 10.

Eric Clapton's Grammy-Winning Album Reaches A New Chart Peak

Eric Clapton's Unplugged returns to two U.K. album charts, nearly cracking the top 40 thanks to a ... More new physical re-release and renewed attention in 2025. British Rock and Blues musician Eric Clapton plays guitar as he performs onstage at the Spectrum, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, May 5, 1992. (Photo by) Unplugged stands out among Eric Clapton's many albums as one of his most critically acclaimed and commercially successful projects. The live set was recorded in front of a small audience as part of MTV's Unplugged series. While Clapton was already a superstar at the time and big things were expected, few could have predicted just how massive the title would become. Decades later, it remains an incredibly important and meaningful effort for both the musician and his fan — and this week, it becomes a bestseller once again. Unplugged returns to a pair of rankings in the U.K. this frame, and it nearly reenters the top 40 on both lists, missing that special region by just a few spots. This time around, the title lands highest on the Official Physical Albums chart, where it comes in at No. 41. At the same time, it reappears at No. 46 on the Official Albums Sales roster, the general list of the bestselling titles in the country. Clapton's Unplugged reaches a new all-time high on the latter tally – but not the physical-only list – as it returns. It has been almost half a decade since Unplugged was seen on either of these two rosters. The set last appeared on both rankings in June 2020 and has been missing ever since. At the time, Unplugged debuted on the Official Albums Sales chart, and it has now spent just two frames somewhere on the list. The collection has performed much better — and for much longer — on the Official Physical Albums chart. Unplugged launched on that ranking in early 1994 and has now spent 35 frames as one of the top-selling titles on any physical format in the U.K. Unplugged is mounting its comeback thanks to a newly-released enhanced edition, as fans have been purchasing the full-length as a triple LP and a double CD. The project has been the focus of renewed attention all year, as the MTV performance was re-released to cinemas in select countries earlier in 2025. That film also made its way to Paramount+. All the excitement surrounding the Grammy-winning effort — along with the physical re-release — appears to have been enough to push the title back into bestseller status.
