Toyota Kirloskar June sales rise 5% to 28,869 units; H1 2025 sales up 16%
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) continued its growth trajectory in June 2025, posting a 5 per cent year-on-year increase in total sales. The automaker sold 28,869 units during the month, up from 27,474 units in June 2024. This includes 26,453 units sold domestically and 2,416 units exported. For the first half of calendar year 2025, TKM recorded cumulative sales of 1,74,885 units, marking a strong 16 per cent growth compared to the 1,50,250 units sold during the same period in 2024. Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President – Sales, Service & Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said 'TKM sales in June 2025 were 5 per cent higher than the same month last year. We continue to engage closely with our customers through robust after-sales support and value-added offerings designed to enrich the ownership experience. As we move ahead, our focus remains firmly on serving evolving customer needs.' A notable product milestone for the month was the introduction of the Fortuner and Legender in their new 'Neo Drive' avatars, equipped with an advanced 48-Volt system that improves fuel efficiency, driving performance, and comfort. On the corporate front, TKM also signed an MoU with Ohmium International to explore scalable green hydrogen solutions in India, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable mobility and clean energy technologies.

Toyota records 5% sales growth in June 2025, 16% surge in first half
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) announced a 5% growth in sales for June 2025, reaching 28,869 units compared to 27,474 units in June 2024. The growth includes 26,453 units sold domestically and 2,416 units exported. For the first half of 2025 (January–June), TKM recorded a 16% rise, with total sales of 174,885 units against 150,250 units in the same period last Wadhwa, Vice President of Sales-Service-Used Car Business at TKM, attributed the success to the company's focus on customer engagement. "TKM sales in the month of June 2025 was 5% higher than that of June 2024. We continue to strongly engage with our customers through after-sales service support offerings and value-added offerings that are aimed at enriching their ownership experience at every step. As we move through the rest of the year, we will remain agile and focused on what our customers want and continue to serve the market effectively," he said.A key highlight for June was the launch of the Fortuner and Legender in their new 'Neo Drive' variants, equipped with an advanced 48Volt system for better fuel efficiency, performance, and comfort. On the corporate front, TKM signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ohmium International, a leading provider of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) hydrogen technology. Toyota Kirloskar Motor partners Ohmium International to develop green hydrogen-based power solutions
ANI Representational image Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Wednesday announced a collaboration with Bengaluru-based Ohmium International to co-develop green hydrogen-based integrated power solutions in India. The two partners have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the same, under which they will explore the feasibility of integrated, green Hydrogen-driven power solutions such as the microgrid that can be applied across diverse use cases like data centres, far-away locations sensitive to environmental restrictions. Under the collaboration, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) will offer technical expertise, system integration support, and supply fuel cell modules. Ohmium will lead the design, development, and performance evaluation of the microgrid solution prototype. Ohmium is a PEM hydrogen technology company specialising in modular, cost-effective and scalable PEM electrolyzers for green Hydrogen production. The initiative will explore the possibility of utilising hydrogen fuel cell technology beyond the mobility space, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Deputy Managing Director Swapnesh R Maru told PTI. "Going beyond mobility, we would want to explore the utilisation of hydrogen, particularly green hydrogen, as a fuel source for areas which are catering beyond mobility. It could be for stationary power generation, rural powers, for industrial office of spaces," he noted. While Toyota already has the Mirai powered by hydrogen, taking the technology on the ground to rural areas faces a challenge in the form of having hydrogen in a stored capacity on the ground, Maru said. "What exactly will we do through this MOU is we will see the feasibility of making this micro grid -- where we make an electrolyser and a fuel cell and integrate. We will develop a prototype, check the performance in a real world condition to see the output levels and then we will also keep an eye for the real world usage," Maru noted. Speaking on the occasion of signing of the MoU, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said hydrogen, as a clean and renewable energy source, is regarded as the fuel of the future -- a key to building a self-reliant and carbon-neutral India. "In this direction, the government has been undertaking several progressive initiatives, fostering innovations across the energy and transportation ecosystems," he added. He commended Toyota and Ohmium "for making strong efforts with cleaner energy options through advanced hydrogen-led capabilities, aligning with the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan." Ohmium International CEO and Co-founder Arne Ballantine said, "This collaboration is a significant step towards realising the full potential of hydrogen in India's energy security, and together we can create a cleaner, happier society, and position for India, as a leader in sustainable energy."
