After A Police Report Appeared To Expose His Relationship With 23-Year-Old "Employee" Olivia Ponton, Joe Burrow Has Opened Up About The "Uncomfortable" Aftermath Of Last Year's Robbery
Last December, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow sadly had his home burglarized amid a string of home robberies. Related: Reports initially stated that the home invasion was reported by a then-22-year-old "employee" of Joe's. Subsequent reporting named this woman as Olivia Ponton, who is a popular model and influencer. Olivia purportedly told authorities that she noticed a 'shattered bedroom window' when she arrived at Joe's $7.5M Ohio property, per the report. The NFL player was away in Texas for a game at the time. Olivia being the one to report the robbery at Joe's house raised several eyebrows around the nature of their relationship, especially given that the athlete was rumored to be engaged to his long-term girlfriend, Olivia Holzmacher. Related: Joe and Olivia still haven't publicly commented on the nature of their relationship, though they've continued to spend lots of time together. A couple of days later, Joe addressed the burglary at a press conference. He said, 'So obviously everybody has heard what has happened…I feel like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one, and way more is already out there than I would want out there and that I care to share so that's all I got to say about that.' Related: 'We live a public life, and you know, one of my least favorite parts of that is the lack of privacy and that has been difficult for me to deal with my entire career,' he later added. 'Still learning, but I understand it's a life that we choose. Doesn't make it any easier to deal with.' Roughly a month later, four arrests were made in connection with the robbery. Fast-forward to today, and Joe has opened up further about the incident during Season 2 of Netflix's docuseries Quarterback. Admitting that he was 'uncomfortable' with all the attention after the burglary, Joe said, 'My life is very public and that comes with the job. But there are certain parts of your life that are yours. Your house is one of those. When that gets violated, people find out where you live, all these different things. Not everybody's failures at their job are in front of the whole world.' Related: 'It's a very vulnerable position to be in. I put myself in that position because I love it. I don't like the other part of it,' he added. Joe was also filmed telling Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo that whoever broke into his home had mostly taken his jewelry. 'They could have stolen way worse things than that,' he said, noting that it was all insured. Season 2 of Quarterback is available to stream now on Netflix. Shocking moment Joe Burrow discovers his $7.5m home has been burglarized aired in new Netflix series
The moment Joe Burrow discovered his Ohio home had been burglarized while he was playing for the Cincinnati Bengals has been aired for the first time in Netflix 's new series of 'Quarterback'. The burglary of the quarterback's $7.5million mansion is covered in the new season of the NFL docu-series, which also features Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions and the Atlanta Falcons ' Kirk Cousins. It was in the midst of a strong finish to the season that Burrow's home was robbed on December 9 – an experience that Burrow told reporters left him feeling 'violated.' And new footage captured by Netflix's cameras show the moment Burrow found out about the incident, moments after he led the Bengals to a win on the road against the Dallas Cowboys. The locker room footage from Episode 6 of the season shows Burrow, 28, scrolling through his cell phone with his head in his hands. He is still wearing some items of his Bengals uniform, showing just how soon after he left the field it is. 'Of f***ing course this happened to me right now,' Burrow told producers as he reflected on being brought back down to earth after a momentous road win. 'When you're on cloud nine, something's gonna bring you right back down. It just felt like the kind of year that it was.' The incident was initially shrouded in mystery after it emerged that the 911 call was made by Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Olivia Ponton rather than the quarterback's longtime partner Olivia Holzmacher. Although Holzmacher is no longer believed to be involved with Burrow, Ponton has stayed silent on her relationship with the quarterback, refusing to address the topic when asked by paparazzo at last month's Met Gala. However, the two were recently spotted out late in New York. Ponton - who boasts eight million followers on TikTok - is said to have told officers that she noticed 'a shattered bedroom window and the room ransacked' when she arrived at Burrow's property on December 9. Burrow was out of town at the time. Chilean nationals Bastian Morales, 23, Jordan Sanchez, 22, and Sergio Cabello, 38, and Alexander Chavez, 24, were later stopped and arrested by police on suspicion of robbery. Police found the group in possession of LSU and Bengals gear, which is believed to have been taken from Burrow's home. Officers said the men were in the country illegally after overstaying their permission. Three of the men - Morales, Sanchez and Cabello – are facing federal charges for allegedly transporting stolen goods and falsifying record in a federal investigation. Those three are suspected by investigators of orchestrating similar robberies at the homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes. Police bodycam footage captured the moment four Chilean nationals were arrested in connection with the burglary of Burrow's home In a shocking photo laid bare in court documents, all four men linked to the Burrow burglary could be seen posing in the jewelry they allegedly stole at his home - including the NFL star's personalized diamond-encrusted chains. They are understood to have made off with over $300,000 worth of his luxury possessions, according to federal prosecutors. Burrow addressed the robbery at the time, although he was clearly skittish about saying too much publicly. 'So obviously everybody has heard what has happened,' Burrow said in a statement after the robbery. 'I feel like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one. And way more is already out there than I would want out there and that I care to share, so that's all I got to say about that.'
