Watch Benson Boone Embrace His Haters in Joke-Filled ‘Mr. Electric Blue' Music Video

Since blasting onto the scene with his breakthrough hit 'Beautiful Things,' Benson Boone has become the internet's favorite punching bag. But instead of trying to prove them wrong, the singer decided to lean in with his latest music video. On Friday (June 20), Boone dropped the tongue-in-cheek music video for his new song 'Mr. Electric Blue,' off his just-released LP American Heart. From the start of the clip, Boone goes out of his way to play with all the worst things the internet has to say about him when he walks into 'Industry Plant Records' wearing a t-shirt that simply says 'one hit wonder' for a frank conversation with his sleazy agent (played by his frequent songwriting collaborator Jack LaFrantz). Everything is terrible, Benson! We put all of our money into 'moonbeam ice cream' and the backflip, and it's done absolutely horrible,' LaFrantz's character tells an exasperated Boone. He informs the singer that he owes his faux label $10 million, and suggests that he find 'a new gimmick' like 'good songwriting.' At the suggestion, Boone deflates: 'You know I can't do that.' What ensues is a madcap montage, where Boone takes as many odd jobs as he can to raise the money. He walks dogs (while wearing another T-shirt that says ''), mows lawns (for a company called 'Auto-Tune Trimmers'), washes cars (with bumper stickers declaring 'mustaches are lame') sells his sparkly jumpsuits and even opens a moonbeam ice cream truck. Of course, that still doesn't stop the criticism from coming — when he's recognized by a little girl as 'the guy who sings 'Beautiful Things,'' she quickly humbles him: 'Your music is terrible.' For his hustling and hard work, Boone makes a grand total of $168, but begs LaFrantz's agent to give him another chance. But his agent assures him that he found a better solution, saying he 'sold your entire catalog to retail chains, fast food chains and movie theaters,' promising that 'you'll be the most overplayed artist in the world, and I'll be rich.' A dejected Boone sighs and smiles, saying 'that's all I've ever wanted,' before celebrating his ubiquity. It's far from the first time Boone has commented on the way people perceive him. The singer posted a TikTok back in April, explaining that he could understand people not liking him or his music if there were more people offering concrete reasons for their distaste. 'I just read a comment that said 'idek why I hate Benson Boone but it feels right,'' he wrote on the video. 'Like WHAT!!? how am I supposed to improve after reading that? At least say something valid like 'he low key just flips everywhere can he [do] anything else?'' Watch the full video for Boone's 'Mr. Electric Blue' above. File Photo by James Atoa/UPI | License Photo June 20 (UPI) -- Benson Boone is back with new music. The singer, 22, released a music video for his single "Mr. Electric Blue" Friday. The song appears on Boone's second studio album American Heart, also released Friday. The video begins as Boone walks into his agent's (Jack LaFrantz) office, wearing a shirt that reads "One Hit Wonder," a seemingly tongue-in-cheek reference to his hit song "Beautiful Things." "We need something new. We need a new gimmick, maybe good songwriting," the agent says. "You know I can't do that," Benson replies. The agent says that Boone owes him $10 million, and the video shows Boone walking dogs, cleaning a pool and washing a car to try and earn the money. Other tracks on his new album include "Man in Me," "Mystical Magical," "Reminds Me of You," "Momma Song," "I Wanna be the One You Call," "Wanted Man," "Take Me Home" and "Young American Heart."

'80s pop icon resurfaces at age 66 with unbelievable new look... can YOU guess who it is?

She's arguably one of the biggest one hit wonders to come out of the '80s. Bursting onto the music scene in 1986 with Two of Hearts, Stacey Q became a staple of the decade thanks to her gorgeous good looks and her sky-high hair. While many others faded from the spotlight almost as quickly as they found it, Stacey stuck around for years with a string of memorable acting roles and appearances. Stacey, now 66, recently resurfaced for the Ladies of the Lost '80s tour and proved that she's definitely still got the original 'it factor' that made her a star so many years ago. Dressed in an ruffled, iridescent bubble skirt, glittery crop top and a cropped leather jacket, Stacey rocked out on stage to Two of Hearts. Instead of her signature teased blonde perm, the songstress is now rocking a stylish grey bob cut. Fans on social media were delighted to see Stacey back on stage, with one commenting, 'She's 66 yrs old... She looks and sounds better than most 80s artists!' Another gushed, 'I love this woman. I grew up listening to her music!' A third commented, 'Nothing has ever made me feel older than this.' One fan praised Stacey for choosing to age naturally, writing, 'No Botox no lift/filers! Aging without Hollywood's help. Good for her and she sounds amazing.' Stacey was just 21 when Two of Hearts topped the charts in 1987. The catchy dance-pop track reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 in Canada. Outside of music, she is best known for playing Cinnamon in the sitcom The Facts of Life. Dressed in an ruffled, iridescent bubble skirt, glittery crop top and a cropped leather jacket, Stacey rocked out on stage to Two of Hearts She also appeared as herself on Full House before her acting career started to wind down. The star continued releasing music throughout the '90s but failed to recapture her initial popularity. Stacey isn't the only '80s sex symbol to resurface this year. Lorraine Lewis, best known for her time in the '80s rock bands Femme Fatale and Vixen, recently opened an account on OnlyFans at age 66. Discussing the controversial decision on The Chuck Shute Podcast, the blonde bombshell said that the response had been 'amazing.' 'I have wanted to join OnlyFans for a very, very long time,' she said in the interview, which was transcribed by Blabbermouth. 'I just think it's a cool platform. It can be whatever you want it to be. I think a lot of people think it's really just porn. It's not. It doesn't have to be. But it's sexy, I'll tell you that. Like, I'm hella sexy.' Since launching the page, Lewis said that she's picked up about 500 subscribers, who are all paying $20 a month for her exclusive content. Now that she's earning over $10,000 a month, Lewis has no plans to slow down. 'It's been amazing,' she gushed. 'It just makes sense that a girl like me, a rock star like me, would take this to the next level.'
