OnePlus brings AI Plus Mind to OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R: All you need to know
OnePlus first introduced its new Plus Mind feature with the OnePlus 13s, but the AI-powered 'memory palace' is now coming to the flagship OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R. OnePlus says the feature is rolling out as part of a software update starting today and will reach all OnePlus 13 and 13R devices in the coming weeks. On the OnePlus 13s, OnePlus replaced its iconic alert slider with a customisable Plus key that triggers Plus Mind on the device. Since the OnePlus 13 and 13R do not have this key, OnePlus has implemented a workaround: users can now trigger Plus Mind using a three-finger swipe-up gesture, which is essentially the opposite of the screenshot gesture on most Android devices. OnePlus says swiping up to open Plus Mind will allow users to analyse on-screen content and suggest actions like adding calendar events for key dates, while also saving captured data within the Mind Space. In my experience with the OnePlus 13s, Plus Mind felt like an elaborate screenshot tool, with AI summarising the content on the screen. The useful part, however, is that these captures can now be found using natural language search within the AI search bar—so if you are worried about forgetting something important, a Plus Mind capture can help you retain that information. Meanwhile, OnePlus also announced that other AI features introduced with the OnePlus 13s—such as AI Translation, AI Screen Translation, AI Search, AI Reframe, AI Perfect Shot, and AI VoiceScribe—have now been rolled out to the flagship lineup as well. There is no clarity yet on whether the revamped OnePlus dialer, which debuted with the OnePlus 13s, will be coming to these devices. Notably, OnePlus had also brought the Plus Mind to its recently launched OnePlus Nord 5 which comes with the same Plus Key as the OnePlus 13s.

OnePlus AI suite now rolling out to OnePlus 13, 13R smartphones: What's new
Plus Mind, part of the OnePlus AI suite, now comes to OnePlus 13 and 13R, offering smart on-screen content capture, summaries, and contextual suggestions Harsh Shivam New Delhi Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus has begun rolling out its AI-powered Plus Mind feature to users of the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R smartphones. The feature, part of the broader OnePlus AI suite, was originally introduced with the OnePlus 13s, and is designed to help users store, organise, and retrieve information more intelligently. The OnePlus AI suite also offers other advanced AI features such as AI VoiceScribe, AI Search, AI Translation, and more. OnePlus AI Plus Mind: Availability The OnePlus AI suite is already live on the OnePlus 13s and OnePlus Nord 5 smartphones. With the latest update, Plus Mind is now available to OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R users as a free software update. OnePlus AI Plus Mind: How it works On the OnePlus 13s and Nord 5, the Plus Mind feature can be triggered using the customisable Plus Key button. On the OnePlus 13 and 13R, users can activate it by swiping up with three fingers on the screen. Once activated, Plus Mind captures the on-screen content, creates an AI-generated summary, and saves it in a dedicated app called Mind Space. The system also recognises contextual information and offers smart suggestions. For instance, if a user swipes up on an event poster, Plus Mind can identify key details like the date and time and prompt users to add the event date into their calendar automatically, while also storing all relevant information in Mind Space. OnePlus AI: What's more Alongside Plus Mind, OnePlus' AI suite includes several productivity and creativity tools: AI VoiceScribe: Lets users record, summarise, and translate calls and meetings — including on apps like WhatsApp. (Currently available only in India) AI Translation: A standalone app that consolidates all translation tools — including text, voice, camera, and screen-based translations. AI Search: Allows users to search for files, notes, settings, and Mind Space content using natural language queries. AI Reframe: Analyses images, identifies subjects, and suggests creative composition alternatives.

It rocks a 50MP main snapper and a 50MP telephoto lens, both of which take detailed, natural-looking photos. We were also quite surprised by the low-light performance of the latter, even though the main unit held its own when the lighting was scarce. Another selling point is the gorgeous 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 2800 x 1260 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus 13R is my favorite budget phone — and this Prime Day price makes it an even better value
I loved just about everything associated with the OnePlus 13R when I reviewed the midrange phone earlier this year. But I did not love the fact that OnePlus had stopped offering a sub-$500 model like it had with the previous version. Thankfully, an Amazon Prime Day deal rights that wrong — and you can save even more if you're willing to lock in your new phone with a wireless carrier. Amazon currently offers the OnePlus 13R for $499, a $100 discount off its usual price. That would be the best price I've seen for the OnePlus 13R since its release earlier this year — if Best Buy were not selling the phone for $499 as well, while taking an extra $100 off if you activate the phone with a wireless carrier at purchase. You can pick up the OnePlus 13R for $499 at Best Buy if you just want an unlocked version of the phone. But activate the phone with either Verizon or AT&T at checkout and you can save another $100, picking up the phone for $399. (Amazon is selling an unlocked OnePlus 13R for $499 as well.) The OnePlus posts some of the best battery life we've seen with performance that outpaces many other midrange devices. Normally, the OnePlus 13R costs $599 — not a bad price on a phone that offers 256GB storage and the kind of features you normally don't expect from a midrange model. But the OnePlus 12R came in a 128GB version that sold for $499 — a real steal of a deal. With the current sales at Best Buy and Amazon, you can now get the OnePlus 13R for that price, with an additional discount at Best Buy should you activate your phone with either AT&T or Verizon. The OnePlus 13R really impresses with its battery life, lasting nearly 19 hours on our battery test. (The average phone tops out at 10.5 hours.) While the phone doesn't feature the latest silicon, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powering the 13R is recent enough so that you can expect flagship-level performance. And the cameras — not always a strong area for midrange phones — produce solid shots, particularly the telephoto lens. Don't turn to the OnePlus 13R if you want cutting-edge AI features — that's not the 13R's strong suit. But the OnePlus 13R not only delivers on the basics you'd expect from a smartphone but shatters those expectations. And at a sub-$500 price, it's a deal you need to jump on right away.
