The OnePlus Nord 5 series, the next generation of the OnePlus Nord, is set to arrive on July 8, 2025. There are two phones to begin with: OnePlus Nord 5 and OnePlus Nord CE 5. Ever since the launch of the first OnePlus Nord in 2020, the series has generated significant buzz for offering premium features and strong performance at competitive prices. With everything that OnePlus has shared ahead of launch, it seems it is only doubling down on upgrades, with what's coming is still some time before the big reveal, but we got our hands on the new OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 in advance and while a full review – of both the devices – will take some more time, we thought, how about a quick sneak peek in the meantime? Along with the first look, this piece will also serve as somewhat of a ready reckoner of everything you can expect from OnePlus on D-day. Spoiler alert: there is lots to we were to talk about the Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 in short, the apt way of putting it would be, they are all about good looks, good looks, and more good looks. The visual consistency is has moved away from the elaborate glass and metal finishes used on previous Nord generations, opting instead for a more uniform new matte look. The Nord 4 used metal in abundance. That is not the case with the Nord 5. But despite the switch – to polycarbonate – the phone feels solid and premium. The Nord 3 came in both glossy and matte finishes, while last year's Nord 4 used metal in abundance. We were impressed by the overall look of both generations. Now, with the Nord 5 series, the company has once again switched things up. This time, it has gone for a matte finish with a marble-like texture on the Nord are reviewing the white colour variant, and it looks stunning. The back features a beautiful white shade with a soft marble-like finish that subtly reflects light. There is also a shimmering, pearl-like sheen, adding an extra aesthetic touch that is pleasing to the eyes. The OnePlus logo also has a slight holographic shine adding to the overall elegance. OnePlus has also revised the camera layout. They are arranged vertically now across both the phones. We have received the blue colour variant, and the back panel has a uniform vibrant tone. It also features a matte finish, similar to the Nord 5, offering a smooth and premium in-hand feel. OnePlus Nord CE5 is confirmed to feature MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex chip At the back, the camera layout is once again vertically aligned, much like the Nord 5. The series will include the OnePlus Nord 5 and OnePLus Nord CE5. Launch date OnePlus has already confirmed that the Nord 5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, a significant upgrade from the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 in the Nord 4. New processor The phone is rumored to arrive with a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging support. Massive battery upgrade It is confirmed to feature 144 FPS display and is likely to arrive sporting a flat OLED screen. The OnePlus Nord 5 series is expected to launch in the coming weeks, and the brand officially teased the smartphones in a new video. This year, the new generation Nord series may include the OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 with upgrades over predecessors. The teaser just came after speculation around the July 8 launch. However, the OnePlus global team removed the teaser video, leaving fans wanting to know more. The teaser also revealed the newly desired camera module of the upcoming smartphone, giving us a small sneak peek ahead of the official launch. Therefore, if you have been waiting for the new OnePlus Nord series, then know what the Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 have in store for the users. Previously, the Nord 5 was expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chip, however, a new Geekbench listing reveals a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. Whereas, the Nord CE 5 could get a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chip. The OnePlus Nord 5 is expected to feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the Nord CE 5 may sport a 6.7-inch OLED display. The Nord 5 will likely be backed by a 6700mAh battery, whereas the Nord CE 5 may come with a 7100mAh battery.

OnePlus Nord 5 tipped to launch soon: Specs, features and expected India price
When can we expect the next-generation OnePlus Nord? If rumours are to be believed, OnePlus is gearing to launch the OnePlus Nord 5, successor to the OnePlus Nord 4, in India soon. The Nord 4 was launched in April 2024, so we can expect the fifth-generation Nord to arrive within the next couple of months. Right now, OnePlus is preparing to introduce the OnePlus 13s in India which is likely to arrive sometime in mid-May or early June. The Nord 5 could be its next phone in the country. The purported OnePlus Nord 5 has been spotted on the TV Rheinland website seemingly confirming its imminent launch. The listing reveals several key details of the upcoming device, including its battery size and charging speed. The alleged OnePlus phone with model number CPH2079 (via 91Mobiles), which is believed to be the Nord 5, will reportedly feature a 6,650mAh battery per the listing. If true, this would be a significant boost over the 5,500mAh unit found in the Nord 4. The listing also confirms support for 80W fast charging, similar to the Nord 4. However, this contradicts earlier reports that suggested the phone would have faster 100W charging. As for the other expected specifications, the OnePlus Nord 5 is rumoured to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition, which is expected to launch in China later this month. Based on everything we can find from the internet, the phone is likely to have a 6.77-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and an optical in-display fingerprint sensor for biometrics. Performance-wise, the Nord 5 may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset, a slightly modified version of the upcoming flagship Dimensity 9400 SoC. If true, this would mark a shift from the Snapdragon-based Nord 4 and offer improved AI and gaming capabilities. The phone could launch with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, depending on the region. On the camera front, the OnePlus Nord 5 is expected to include a dual rear setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor (with Optical Image Stabilisation) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. On the front, the device may offer a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. Other expected features include dual stereo speakers, an IR blaster, and Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 out of the box. In terms of pricing, the OnePlus Nord 5 is expected to launch in India at around Rs 30,000, maintaining its mid-range positioning, similar to the starting price of the Nord 4. However, it should be noted that the specifications are rumoured and nothing is officially confirmed by OnePlus yet. Exact configurations and pricing details will become clearer closer to the official announcement.
