OnePlus and Oppo's next move may be a premium and compact Android tablet
Referential image of the OnePlus Pad. | Image credit — OnePlus OnePlus and Oppo may be planning a new chapter in their tablet strategy, with both companies rumored to be working on compact Android tablets powered by a next-gen flagship chipset. According to a leak posted on Chinese social media by the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the tablet will feature Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which is expected to be formally announced in September under the name Snapdragon 8 Elite OnePlus version of this device is reportedly slated to launch sometime in the first half of 2026, alongside the OnePlus 15T. That phone is expected to succeed the OnePlus 13T and could feature a 6.3-inch display. If this timeline holds, it would be one of the first Android tablets to use Qualcomm's next-generation high-end chip. Image credit — Digital Chat Station on Weibo Both versions of the tablet — from OnePlus and Oppo — are said to include an 8.8-inch display, making them smaller than the companies' previous tablets, such as the OnePlus Pad (11.6 inches) and the Oppo Pad 2 (also 11.6 inches). While no other specs have been confirmed yet, this new form factor suggests the two brands may be targeting the compact premium tablet segment, potentially in competition with Apple's iPad mini or Lenovo's high-performance Tab Extreme the close relationship between Oppo and OnePlus, it is not surprising to hear that the two might be developing similar hardware under different brand names. The two companies have previously released nearly identical devices with minor software or design differences, such as the Oppo Pad 2 and OnePlus Pad, which were both released in 2023 and featured the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 we still don't have pricing or a detailed spec sheet, the timing of the launch — well after Qualcomm's chipset announcement — suggests both tablets may arrive in early 2026. That could give OnePlus and Oppo a chance to position these models against competitors' next-gen tablets, including Samsung's expected Galaxy Tab S11 lineup and whatever follow-up Apple has planned for the iPad mini. As always, we'll be keeping an eye on this development and will share more once specifications, design, and regional availability become clearer. For now, the idea of an 8.8-inch Android tablet with top-tier internals is something that will likely appeal to users who want a compact yet powerful slate without having to jump to the more expensive or larger tablet options.

OnePlus announces the Nord 5 and four more products
OnePlus has announced five new products, including a new phone from its popular Nord lineup, which will launch in Europe and India next month. The company will release two phones, a tablet, a smartwatch, and a pair of earbuds, and has already shared a handful of details for each device, though full specs and prices will have to wait until the launch event on July 8th. The Nord 5 is the latest in the company's mid-range smartphone line, and is the first Nord to feature a flagship Qualcomm chip — in this case the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3, which was designed for cheaper flagship phones — along with an upgraded cooling system and support for LPDDR5X RAM. That's all we know about the phone's specs, but from the picture we can glean that it'll come in a pale blue finish (officially dubbed 'Dry Ice') and features a dual rear camera. The Nord 5 will be joined by the Nord CE5, which should run a little cheaper, but all we know about that is its 'Marble Mist' finish. In an interview with Techradar, Celina Shi, OnePlus' European head of marketing, also confirmed that both phones will feature the new customizable Plus Key, rather than the company's signature Alert Slider, and the AI Plus Mind feature it enables. The OnePlus Pad Lite sounds like another affordable option, described as 'entry level' by the company. It has the same central, circular camera as OnePlus' older tablets, rather than the new design found on this month's Pad 3. The company didn't confirm any other details, but over the weekend a full spec sheet for the Pad Lite leaked, claiming it will have an 11-inch LCD display, run on the MediaTek Helio G100 chipset, and launch with an optional cellular version. Finally, the company has teased a smaller 43mm size for the OnePlus Watch 3, to join the existing 47mm model, along with a new pair of earbuds. The OnePlus Buds 4 will include dual drivers, support Hi-Res audio, and come in green or dark gray.

OnePlus is readying 5 new devices for its July launch, including a smaller Watch 3 and Buds 4
TL;DR OnePlus has announced its Summer Launch event, which is set for July 8. The event will feature five new devices, though not all will be available in the US. The launch includes the OnePlus Buds 4 with dual drivers and low-latency features, and the smaller OnePlus Watch 3 (43mm). In addition to wearables and earbuds, OnePlus will also unveil the OnePlus Pad Lite tablet, the OnePlus Nord 5, and Nord CE 5. OnePlus has been making not just great phones, but also some great audio and wearable products. We've loved devices like the OnePlus Watch 3 (although my colleague Kaitlyn does complain about its large size and weight) and the OnePlus Buds 3. If you were looking to pick these up right now, you should wait, as the company has announced the OnePlus Summer Launch event for a whole bunch of devices, including a smaller OnePlus Watch 3 (43mm) and the OnePlus Buds 4. On July 8, 2025, OnePlus will launch these devices: OnePlus Watch 3 43mm OnePlus Buds 4 OnePlus Pad Lite OnePlus Nord 5 OnePlus Nord CE 5 All of these devices are scheduled to make their way to Europe. The Indian market has been confirmed to get the earbuds and the phones, and we expect to see some of these products reach the US too. The company doesn't launch the mainline Nord series in the US, so you can scratch those off the list of products to come stateside at least. OnePlus Watch 3 43mm The OnePlus Watch 3 43mm will complement the standard OnePlus Watch 3, which has a larger 47mm case size and 81g, which is a bit too large for smaller wrists. The Watch 3 43mm will come in a Silver Steel finish, and we're waiting for the company to launch it to learn the final and confirmed specifications. OnePlus Buds 4 OnePlus currently has two earbuds in its main lineup: the OnePlus Buds 3 and the flagship OnePlus Buds Pro 3. The company has begun teasing that the OnePlus Buds 4 will 'redefine category standard with flagship sound quality,' indicating that they could succeed the Buds 3 with features borrowed from the Pro 3. OnePlus has confirmed that we'll get dual drivers, dual DACs, Hi-Res LHDC 5.0, and 3D Audio. They also claim 47ms low latency in Game Mode, though beware that such lower latency is typically achieved when paired with the company's own phones. The OnePlus Buds 4 will come in two color options: Zen Green and Storm Gray. OnePlus Pad Lite Following the recent release of the OnePlus Pad 3, OnePlus is expanding its tablet offering with a new entry-level tablet, the OnePlus Pad Lite. The tablet will be available in Aero Blue color in Europe. The company isn't sharing more details on its specs, but says it is an 'affordable entertainment and productivity hub.' OnePlus Nord 5 and OnePlus Nord CE 5 The OnePlus Nord 5 is confirmed to be the first device in the Nord series to come with a Snapdragon 8 series chipset. More specifically, it's coming with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 that supports Snapdragon Elite gaming features like hardware-accelerated real-time ray tracing, coupled with LPDDR5X RAM. In Europe, the Nord 5 will be available in a light blue Dry Ice colorway, while the Nord CE 5 will be available in a Marble Mist colorway. We hope to see more details for these products in the coming days. I am particularly excited about the Buds 4, as I've heartily recommended the OnePlus Buds 3 to many people, even suggesting they save some money by skipping over the excellent Buds Pro 3. Many people will also appreciate the smaller smartwatch and the expanded tablet lineup. Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ .
