On the Lookout: Frank Bacon
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Part of NewsChannel 9's Fugitive of the Week, the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office is putting you 'On the Lookout' for 48-year-old Frank Bacon. Bacon is a white man, approximately 5'7″ tall, weighing 230 lbs. He has a medium build, blonde hair, and blue eyes. According to police, Bacon's last known address was on Lincoln Avenue in Syracuse. Bacon is wanted by the Onondaga County Sheriff's Warrant Squad for Violation of Probation, Grand Larceny in the Third Degree (Felony), and two counts of Petit Larceny. The charges stem from a theft of multiple work tools, including one valued at over $3000, from a local jobsite in November of 2024. Syracuse teen charged for attempted armed robbery in Clay
CLAY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office was called to the Heritage Park Townhouses off Wetzel Road after receiving a call for an attempted armed robbery on Sunday, June 1. Sheriff deputies said that when they arrived, they spoke to the victim, who reported that the suspect had attempted to rob him of his phone and vehicle at gunpoint. Police say that the suspect ran away after failing to steal the victim's property. Through a description of the suspect provided by the victim, the Sheriff's Office and the New York State Police were able to find the suspect, who has been identified as 18-year-old Gabron Polk of Syracuse, in the woods behind Wetzel Road Elementary School. Polk was arrested about 30 minutes after the police were originally called. Sheriff's Deputies reported finding a 9mm 'ghost gun' in Polk's possession at the time of his arrest. Polk was charged with the following offenses: Attempted Robbery in the First Degree (Class B Felony) – Forcible theft with a deadly weapon. Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class C Felony) – Possession of a loaded firearm. Criminal Use of a Firearm in the Second Degree (Class C Felony) – Display of a weapon during a felony. Criminal Possession of a Firearm (Class E Felony). K-9 graduation: Congratulations, patrol tracking class of 2025
WARNERS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — After ten weeks of training, three police agencies in Central New York graduated their newest four-legged rookies. For the handler, having a K-9 partner can be like having a co-worker you can't get rid of but come to love like family. 'It goes both ways. Some days you're like this is going great and some days it's like you're annoying me right now. It's like having a family member,' Sgt. Jeff Neal with the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office said. Now that training is over, the three K-9s that graduated will join their handlers at the City of Rome Police Department, the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office, and the Syracuse Police Department. For the Syracuse Police Department's newest rookie, there is a special meaning behind his name, Dalton. K-9 Dalton was named after Rod Dalton, who passed away, but was the go-to guy for the K-9 Unit. 'He's the guy you know so much about, he was so involved in the K9 unit, and I just thought if we're going to name the dog after someone, I want it to be him,' Officer Victoria Losurdo, Dalton's handler, said. K-9 Dalton has high energy, is very friendly, but is always dead set on the task at hand. Officer Losurdo is excited to get on the road and see how all of her and Dalton's hard work and training pay off. On the Lookout: Omar Ibrahim
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Can you help the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office find this suspect? 35-year-old Omar Ibrahim is a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 175 lbs., with a medium build, black hair, and brown eyes. On the Lookout: Suspect accused of 'holding metal can opener to victim's head' in domestic incident He is wanted on a warrant for Assault in the 2nd Degree with intent to cause serious injury. The charge stems from an incident in which Ibrahim allegedly struck another person with a weapon, causing injuries to the victim's face and head, according to the sheriff's office. Ibrahim is also wanted on a warrant out of the Town of DeWitt for a separate assault involving another individual. Police believe has has lived in the City of Syracuse but may currently be homeless. Syracuse man arrested for threats to Liverpool schools
LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 21-year-old man after he called in threats to the Liverpool Central School District. 21-year-old Tahjay Perry from Syracuse was arrested and charged with seven felony charges of Making a Terroristic Threat in connection with making threats to the school district. Sheriffs say that during these calls, Perry threatened to carry out a school shooting, prompting an immediate police investigation. According to the release, Perry was taken in without incident and is currently being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
