"I'm waiting for LeBron to cut his s—t" - Hip-hop legend claims MJ shaved his head because of him

"I'm waiting for LeBron to cut his s—t" - Hip-hop legend claims MJ shaved his head because of him originally appeared on Basketball Network. The great Michael Jordan has become an influential figure not only in sports but also in the world of hip-hop. However, Fredro Starr, a founding member of the New York-based rap group Onyx, argued that it was the other way around. In fact, Starr boldly claimed that MJ shaved his head because of Onyx. For context, Onyx was a legendary hip-hop group famous for its signature bald heads. In a telling interview back in 2023, Starr discussed the group's influence on society and claimed that some of the most famous celebrities in the world copied their hairstyle, including Jordan. To this day, Starr is still proudly rocking Onyx's iconic bald look. He even pleaded for other big-name NBA personalities, specifically LeBron James, to follow Jordan and entirely shave their heads. "Ask Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan cut his head bald because of us," Starr confidently declared. "Michael Jordan cut his hair bald because of Onyx. Do the knowledge, ni**a. I know for a fact. What year did Michael Jordan cut his head bald? We're responsible for Michael Jordan [shaving his head bald]. The whole 'Fab Five' [too]. Jalen Rose, [Chris] Webber, all them ni**as… They cut they head bald cause of us." "I'm waiting for LeBron to cut his s**t, man," he added. "Snoop Dogg, too. Let it go, my n**ga… Stephen A. Smith. [A] lot of n**gas need to come to the dark side, man." Starr failed to provide hard evidence to support his bizarre claim about Jordan's bald hairstyle. Surprisingly, N.O.R.E., a former rap artist, attested to Starr's unbelievable narrative. During a discussion on his podcast last month, N.O.R.E himself personally told Starr that there could be some truth to his claim about Jordan. N.O.R.E. also couldn't specify how Onyx influenced MJ's decision to shave his head. However, he was certain the rap group was incredibly famous at the time and ultimately suggested that the NBA superstar might have thought about emulating Onyx's signature hairstyle too. "They doubted you," N.O.R.E. told Starr. "[But] I was there! I was like, 'Holy sh—t!' I didn't put the facts together like that… but I remember Michael Jordan cutting his hair and Onyx was the hottest thing in the mother**king world." "It was a movement," Starr said of Onyx's signature bald hairstyle. "That's how ni—as was lookin. The bald head movement was moving."While it's pretty impressive how confident Starr was about his claim, there are a few things that aren't adding up. For one, N.O.R.E. himself once revealed that Jordan was never a fan of rap music. "Jordan is a hater of hip-hop. I seen him shut Redman down at a Def Jam Christmas party. We were all sitting there waiting to speak to Michael Jordan. Ni**a said, 'Yo, Redman and Method Man is here.' [MJ] said, 'F**k rap.' I seen the ni**a say that…Quote me," N.O.R.E. once said. "He only spoke to Hov [Jay-Z], but he spoke to Hov," he added. "That's without a doubt." In addition, Onyx's first mainstream album was released in 1993, while Jordan started losing hair due to male pattern baldness in the late '80s. By the early '90s, MJ was already completely story was originally reported by Basketball Network on Jul 7, 2025, where it first appeared.

Nan 'shielded toddler grandson with her own body' during horror mauling

Willesden Magistrates' Court heard that Bully Oynx got out of the family's north London home and attacked a two-year-old boy on the street, forcing his grandmother to intervene A nan has told a court of the horrific moment she knew a dog was about to attack her grandson, before she tried to shield him with her own body. The toddler was so viciously bitten he needed plastic surgery on his right leg and groin after being mauled outside his own home in north London last summer. Willesden Magistrates' Court heard the child was with his grandmother, when the Pocket Bully dog named Onyx escaped from his owner's home. ‌ Emma Eatwell, prosecuting, told the court Onyx attacked the child after he escaped. She said: "He ran up to them at speed. His grandmother describes the dog menacingly approaching them. She knew that she and her grandson were about to be attacked by the dog." ‌ She tried to pull her grandson away and cover his body with her own, the court heard. "The dog grabbed the child by the leg and began pulling. He was shouting and crying at the time," Ms Eatwell added. "The dog bit him twice around the leg area and also in the groin. It caused deep puncture wounds which required hospital attention." The dog's owner, mum-of-six Lysa Marten apologised in court about what took place. Ms Martyn, 49, previously appeared on ITV's This Morning in 2020 seeking help for her sons' addiction to Fortnite. She also hit the headlines in 2019 when she finally had a daughter after giving birth to five sons. The court heard that following the dog attack, Martin drove the boy and his grandmother to the Royal Free Hospital where he was given antibiotics and painkillers. He needed stitches and underwent surgery to remove damaged tissue, the court heard. The prosecution is seeking a destruction order for the dog. Ms Eatwell told the court: "This was an unprovoked attack on a very young child. His injuries could have been significantly worse if it had not been for the actions of the child's grandmother, who attempted to shield the child with her own body. "We say that there is a significant risk of a similar incident happening again. All it took for the dog to become aggressive was for [the boy] to walk along the street with an adult. He did not provoke the dog, he did not interact with the dog." ‌ In a victim impact statement the boy's mother said that she has been receiving therapy. Describing how she feels when she thinks about the attack she said: "I feel my throat close up. I become worried and scared. I can no longer leave the house by myself. The screams of other children trigger myself." The boy's grandmother said: "I felt my grandson's life was put in danger by that dog." Giving evidence Martin said: "He's a very playful dog, he was a puppy. He does display hyperactivity in his actions. He's a baby, he does dart around." She said that she tried to help the boy and his grandmother immediately after the attack. "I was thinking how I would react if that was my child. I went into parent mode straight away. I got an ice bag to help with the injury. I took them straight to the emergency department. I was very apologetic about what happened. I just kept apologising. It was an adult mistake, not a dog mistake." ‌ Nicola White, defending Martin, said: "It is quite clear that the defendant has given clear and consistent evidence. I believe that she is a credible witness. It was simply a very unfortunate accident. You heard her feelings in respect of the incident. "She took the parties to the hospital. She went as far as to get the antibiotics from the pharmacy. She would be happy to pay compensation." Onyx' was spared the death penalty after a judge said he was a "much loved family pet". District Judge Jack Walsh warned Martin she will have to abide by a number of conditions in order to keep him alive. In public Onyx will have to wear a box style muzzle and be on a fixed leash no longer than 1.5 metres. At home she will have to install an animal gate from the wall to the stairs in the hallway, put the dog behind the gate before she opens the door and fit a second bolt at the bottom of the side gate. ‌ Before the side gate is opened the secondary gate must be closed and locked with Onyx behind it in the garden. The judge told Martin: "This was a shocking and frightening attack on a young boy which caused serious injury to him." He said the boy's grandmother bravely sought to shield him from the bites." He added: "Onyx is not a banned breed. He is a much loved family pet. I know that Ms Martin was very upset that Onyx caused those injuries. "She said that she would comply with any condition imposed by the court to ensure that Onyx can return to her. The safety of the public is what I am concerned with. What Onyx did was serious. ‌ "He bit his upper leg and groin, which required cleaning, surgery and general aesthetic. This must have been painful and extremely frightening for him. It is submitted by the defence that Onyx was playing. His idea of playing can clearly cause injury. I accept that Ms Martin will now be very, very careful with Onyx." The judge said that the attack was not entirely Ms Martin's fault because a neighbour had left a side gate open when he came into the garden to borrow a wheelbarrow, and Onyx ran out. The injuries here were in my view serious, but your culpability in my opinion is low. There is no suggestion that Onyx injured or attempted any of your children or children of friends." Martin was ordered to pay £500 in compensation to the boy, and £500 to his grandmother. She will also have to pay £500 in kennel costs. "She will pay the money at a rate of £80 a month as she is on Universal Credit. The judge told Martin, who became tearful in the dock: "It is important that you pay the order when required. "The compensation order is going to be the sentence of the court."

JPMorgan's Blockchain Arm Kinexys Tests Tokenized Carbon Credits With S&P Global

Global bank JPMorgan's blockchain arm Kinexys is working with S&P Global Commodity Insights to explore tokenization for managing and issuing carbon credits, the firms said on Wednesday. The project, according to a press release, focuses on testing how tokenized carbon credits can be created and tracked using blockchain infrastructure. These credits, which represent greenhouse gas reductions from projects like reforestation or renewable energy, are often bought by companies aiming to offset their emissions. The firms will focus on how blockchain handles credit lifecycle management, data compatibility and registry access. "Our shared aim is to establish standardized infrastructure that enhances information and price transparency, paving the way for financial innovation and increased market liquidity," said Keerthi Moudgal, head of product at Kinexys Digital Assets. The initiative underscores JPMorgan's growing presence in the red-hot tokenization space, a sector that has attracted global banks and asset managers such as BlackRock, HSBC and Citi. Tokenization is the process of using blockchain rails to transact with traditional financial instruments, promising more efficient operations, around-the-clock settlements and increased transparency. JPMorgan has been an early leader operating its own private blockchain network Kinexys, formerly known as Onyx and JPM Coin, which now settles $2 billion in daily transactions, according to the bank. It also piloted last month a deposit token called JPMD on Base, an Ethereum layer-2 network developed by in to access your portfolio

‘I'm Latin, so we love entertaining with a lot of food and friends': Inside the LA home of Sofia Vergara, Modern Family's much-loved Gloria

When it comes to blending luxury, warmth, and a little bit of Latin flair, no one does it quite like Sofia Vergara, best known as Gloria from Modern Family. The actor once gave fans an intimate tour of her gorgeous home, and every corner of it reflects her vibrant personality, love for entertaining, and deep connection to her Colombian roots. Walking into her formal dining room, Sofia immediately points out its 'amazing hand-painted ceiling' that brings the space to life. One of her most treasured details? An 18th-century French tapestry that ties the room's mood together. A self-confessed China collector, Sofia believes that 'putting a lot of effort into the details' makes guests feel truly special. Displayed in elegant cabinets, her carefully curated collection is a testament to her love for entertaining. The kitchen, unsurprisingly, is the heart of the home. 'I'm Latin, so we love entertaining with a lot of food and a lot of friends,' Sofia told AD. Even with cozy rooms throughout the house, guests always end up congregating around her stunning white Onyx counters and the statement La Cornue stove. 'I don't cook,' she admits candidly, 'but my son Manolo does—and he insisted this was the stove we needed.' Heading to the family room, the openness of the house truly shines. Sofia adores that every room, including the upstairs guest rooms, opens onto the lush backyard and sparkling pool. 'Every time something is happening, everyone can check if they're missing out and come downstairs,' she jokes. The room is also where she began collecting crystal birds—a quirky, personal passion that blends her love for nature and sparkle. Art plays a significant role in Sofia's home, too. She fulfilled a lifelong dream by acquiring a painting by Colombian legend Fernando Botero, whose voluptuous 'Matador' figures captivated her since childhood. 'Last year, I finally got the real one,' she beams, proudly showing it off. But it wasn't love at first sight for the house itself. When Sofia first saw the property, it resembled 'a castle in Transylvania,' she quips. However, the outdoor garden won her over instantly. Full of Mediterranean and tropical plants, the space became an extension of her home life, where she drinks coffee, hosts meetings, and holds court like a queen. 'I'm like Don Corleone,' she jokes about greeting guests from her favorite outdoor corner. Inside, the bedroom continues the theme of cozy sophistication. Sofia's four-poster bed, textured in rich colors, fits perfectly into the sunlit room. 'I feel comfortable, sexy, and cozy here,' she says. She also prefers warming the space with the fireplace—sourced from New York's historic Waldorf Astoria—over using traditional heaters. The bathroom and closet are dreams in themselves. The bathroom, featuring a breathtaking mix of beige and gray with a stunning view from the bathtub, is a sanctuary. Meanwhile, her closet—designed by Linda Cooper Smith—is a colour-coded paradise. 'I never knew I needed my bags organized like this,' Sofia jokes, adding that despite the perfect system, she's 'still always late.' Special mementos, including family photos, make her closet a place filled with both glamour and heart.
