Puducherry police arrest three persons under Arms Act
The Puducherry police on Saturday arrested three persons under the Arms Act during a raid conducted as part of Operation Trishul against anti-social elements in the Union Territory.
In a release, Senior Superintendent of Police, Law and Order, R. Kalaivanan said around 400 police personnel were involved in searches conducted across Puducherry and Karaikal regions.
'Searches were conducted at the residences of individuals with past history of criminal activities. We arrested three persons under the Arms Act for possession of dangerous weapons, 85 individuals were secured for questioning, and five long-pending non-bailable warrants were executed. The searches were part of efforts towards creating a crime-free environment in the Union Territory,' he said.
