'Lifeline' Lincoln Pride to go ahead after appeal for help

A "lifeline" pride event will go ahead this year but will look "a little different", organisers have Pride, which was headlined by Liberty X and attracted more than 8,500 people last year, had been at risk of cancellation due to financial issues. Police had to rush across Swansea roads during midnight after receiving a report of a man with a knife trying to break into a property. Police cars could be seen rushing past the Swansea Train Station close to midnight, as they made their way to Orchard Street in Swansea. South Wales Police later confirmed that they were called to the street at around 11:55pm, yesterday, May 15 after they received a report of a man trying to break into an address. The man was in possession of a knife, according to the force. The police investigation is still underway. Never miss a Swansea story by signing up to our newsletter here A statement by South Wales Police read: 'Officers were called to Orchard Street, Swansea at 11:55pm on Thursday May 15 following a report of a man attempting to force entry into an address whilst in possession of a knife. 'A 26-year-old man from the city centre was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a bladed article and is currently in police custody. 'This investigation is ongoing.' Orchard Street is just over 300 metres, or a 5 minute walk away from the Swansea Train Station and sees heavy pedestrian traffic during the day.
