88-year-old motorcyclist dies in crash with logging truck on Oregon highway
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An elderly motorcyclist is dead after police said he crashed into the side of a logging truck in Polk County on Thursday afternoon. Just after 4 p.m., Oregon State Police troopers responded to reports of a crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of Highway 223 and Highway 22W. Portland man accused of attempted carjacking at knifepoint in Aloha Officials said the early investigation found a motorcycle driven by 88-year-old David Jorgensen had attempted to cross the highway and hit the side of a logging truck. While the driver of the logging truck was uninjured, Jorgensen was declared dead at the scene, officials said. Due to the crash, police said highway traffic was impacted for around five hours. Oregon State Police searching for vehicle involved in Marion County road rage shooting
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon State Police are asking the public for information on a vehicle after a highway road rage incident turned into a shooting in Marion County early Friday morning. Just before 12:30 a.m., Oregon State Police troopers responded to a report of a road rage incident on I-5 southbound between mileposts 263 and 265. Police said it involved a Nissan Maxima and an SUV 'resembling a 2008–2011 Dodge Journey.' Oregon City officer cleared by grand jury for shooting ex-Canby cop during standoff in May During an altercation, a passenger in the Dodge wearing a ski mask fired shots at the Nissan, hitting a rear panel on the car multiple times. No injuries were reported, officials said. The Dodge Journey is described as 'possibly gold or silver' and was last seen exiting I-5 south at milepost 263, according to OSP. Although the events leading up to the incident have not been released at this time, OSP says there is no ongoing threat to the public. Oregon State Police seek info on I-5 'road rage' shooting near Brooks
Oregon State Police are seeking information about a person who is accused of shooting a gun from a moving car at 12:21 a.m. on June 27 on Interstate 5 between mileposts 265 and 263 north of Brooks. According to a press release, a person in the front passenger seat of a gold or silver 2008 to 2011 Dodge Journey traveling south in the far left lane shot at a black 2010 Nissan Maxima, also headed southbound. The Nissan was struck by multiple bullets in the rear driver-side quarter panel. No one was injured. Police said the shooter was reportedly wearing a ski mask. The shooting was classified by police as a "road rage incident." The Dodge reportedly exited Interstate 5 at the Brooks exit at milepost 263. Elderly pair dies in car crash on Hwy 26
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two people died in a single-car crash on Highway 26 near Seaside on Friday, Oregon State Police announced. Officers responded to the crash just after 4 p.m. Investigators say that 'a white Genesis GV70, operated by Richard Scott McIntosh (74) of Seaside, was traveling westbound on Highway 26 near milepost 8 when it swerved onto the shoulder, traveled up a dirt embankment, and crashed into a tree.' McIntosh was declared dead at the scene. The passenger, Michele Arnold McIntosh, 72, was taken to a local hospital, but later died from her injuries. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Woman dead, 3 teens seriously injured in Hwy 26 crash
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman died in a two-car crash on Hwy 26 in Clatsop County on Saturday, Oregon State Police announced. The crash happened near milepost 2 just before 4 p.m. 'The preliminary investigation indicated an eastbound Toyota Avalon, operated by a male juvenile (16), crossed the centerline for unknown reasons and struck a westbound Toyota Camry,' police said. The driver of the Camry, Lynette Love, 50, died at the scene. The driver of the Avalon, as well as two other teens, ages 18 and 19, were all hospitalized after suffering critical injuries.
