An Ottawa Fire Services water rescue boat is seen in this undated image. (Dave Charbonneau/CTV News Ottawa) Two paddleboarders were rescued from the Deschênes Rapids Sunday evening, marking the third water rescue in as many days on the Ottawa River. According to Ottawa Fire Services, someone called 9-1-1 to report the paddleboarders were headed toward the rapids at around 7:55 p.m. A water rescue team found the pair in the rapids. Both were wearing life jackets. A boat was launched and the paddleboarders were rescued at around 8:15 p.m. Neither was reported hurt. On Saturday afternoon, two paddleboarders who were rescued from the rapids were taken to hospital in stable condition, according to the Ottawa Paramedic Service. On Friday, another paddleboarder was rescued, but was not injured. Water rescues have been common around the rapids this summer. Officials stress the importance of wearing a lifejacket when out on the water.
