PDWP approves nine uplift schemes worth over Rs52bn

LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Friday approved nine major development schemes in the sectors of agriculture, local government, and infrastructure, with a total estimated cost exceeding Rs52.357 billion. The approvals were granted during the second PDWP meeting for the fiscal year 2025–26, chaired by Dr. Naeem Rauf, Chairman of the Planning & Development Board. Key agricultural initiatives include the revised Chief Minister's Programme for the solarisation of agricultural tube-wells (Rs7.229 billion), an internship scheme for agriculture graduates (Rs2.155 billion), and the Chief Minister Punjab Kissan Card scheme (Rs9.868 billion). Additionally, the PDWP gave a green light to Phase-II of the Punjab Green Tractor Programme (Rs5.076 billion), the Punjab Hi-Power Tractor Programme (Rs9.580 billion), and a project for agricultural transformation in the Potohar region (Rs7 billion). In the local government sector, the establishment of a Project Implementation and Management Unit (PIMU) under the Punjab Rural Municipal Services Company (PRMSC), along with Service Delivery Units (SDUs), was approved at an estimated cost of Rs4.030 billion. Two major infrastructure projects were also sanctioned: the construction of underpasses at GPO Chowk and TM Chowk on Mall Road, including a pedestrian underpass near AFIC in Rawalpindi (Rs5.551 billion), and the widening of the road from District Complex to Kakuwal Bridge with a flyover in Mandi Bahauddin (Rs1.864 billion). Punjab approves 5 schemes worth Rs16.75bn

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Wednesday approved five development schemes with a total estimated cost of Rs16,750.053 million. The approvals were granted during a meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), chaired by Chairman of the Planning and Development (P&D) Board, Dr Naeem Rauf. Among the major projects approved was the provision of infrastructural, academic, and operational facilities for the Punjab University of Technology, Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin, at a cost of Rs9,793.111 million. The PDWP also approved the programme for strategic transformation and revamping of old blocks at former DHQ hospitals in Rahim Yar Khan, Gujranwala, and Sargodha, with Rs1,097.112 million allocated for DHQ Hospital Gujranwala. Additionally, the meeting approved Project Readiness Financing (PRF) for the Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Program at a cost of Rs4,777.250 million, and the replacement of old and condemned equipment at the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) with an estimated budget of Rs1,012.580 million. The PC-II for Smart City Lahore Phase-I also received final approval, with an allocation of Rs70 million. Four uplift schemes of health, P&D sector approved

LAHORE: The PDWP approves four development schemes of health and P&D sector worth over Rs32 billion. In this regard a meeting of the fiscal year 2024–25, the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) held here on Saturday in which four development schemes totalling Rs32,002.252 million were approved. The approved schemes are programme for revamping of 581 BHUs in South Punjab (Phase-I) at an estimated cost of Rs9,932.946 million and programme for revamping of 220 RHCs (Phase-I) (Revised) at an estimated cost of Rs9,990.223 million were approved. Programme for revamping of 552 BHUs in North and Central Punjab (Phase-I) (Revised) at an estimated cost of Rs9,986.627 million and Transformation of Punjab Resource Management & Policy Unit (PRMPU) at an estimated cost of Rs2,092.456 million were also approved. LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) Punjab on Friday approved three development schemes worth Rs 16 billion belonging to health and shrimp farming sectors. The approval was given in the 79th meeting of the fiscal year 2024–25, chaired by Chairman P&D Board Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan. The meeting was attended by Secretary P&D Board Dr. Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, members of the P&D Board, and other senior officers. The approved schemes, according to a spokesman of the Board, gave a go-ahead to Rs 9 billion community empowerment and expansion of healthcare access through Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic. The second project worth Rs 2.5 billion was CM stunting reduction programme which will be carried out in 11 districts of South Punjab. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025
