Ensure success of mega PTM: Collector to officials
Kurnool: The State government has scheduled the 'Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) 2.0' programme across the State on July 10. On Saturday, Collector P. Ranjith Basha directed education officials to ensure the successful conduct of the event in all government and private schools as well as junior colleges within the district. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the bond between parents, teachers and schools for the holistic development of students. The Collector emphasised that no lapses should occur in the arrangements. He instructed Deputy Educational Officers, MEOs, MPDOs and tahsildars to coordinate efforts. Schools have been advised to involve students in creating invitation cards and extend invites to Ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, alumni and public representatives. Students who have achieved notable distinctions or won 'Shining Star' awards are also to be specially invited. Teachers are directed to present Holistic Progress Cards to parents and gather suggestions on school development, mental health awareness and drug prevention. To foster parental involvement, the Collector suggested organising fun games like rangoli competitions, musical chairs, and tug of war for mothers. A special initiative titled 'Green Passport – A Plant in Mother's Name' will be launched, promoting environmental awareness. Students will plant saplings in their mother's name. Schools have also been instructed to beautify classrooms and campuses. Committees are to be formed at all levels to ensure the smooth and impactful execution of Mega PTM 2.0.

Approval given for establishment of six new childcare institutions in Kurnool district
District Collector P. Ranjith Basha on Wednesday ratified recommendations for setting up six eligible childcare institutions (CCIs) in the Kurnool district. He was addressing a review meeting of the District-Level Recommendation Committee here. In tune with the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, the committee scrutinised applications from nine institutions administered by the government and NGOs. During the inspection of infrastructure and services, the committee found six units eligible having met the required standards. Mr. Ranjith Basha underscored the importance of maintaining quality and child-friendly services in all CCIs. He informed the officials to administer the centres without any inconvenience to children, besides strictly complying with the child protection norms. The Collector also reviewed the functioning of Juvenile Homes and Sishu Gruhas, directing the officials to submit relevant reports and updates on behalf of the ICDS. Superintendent of Police Hussain Peer, ICDS Project Director Nirmala, Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Zubeda Begum, District Child Protection Officer Sharada, and members of the Juvenile Justice Board and Juvenile Homes were present.

Yogandhra aims to transform State into a ‘healthy and happy A.P.': Collector
District Collector P. Ranjith Basha on Tuesday said that Yogandhra initiative launched by the State government aims to transform the State into a 'healthy and happy Andhra Pradesh.' As part of the initiative, a large-scale yoga session was organised at the Orvakal Rock Garden by the Tourism department. Nearly 1,000 yoga teachers participated in the session. Mr. Basha revealed that on International Yoga Day, which falls on June 21, the government plans to mobilise 10 lakh individuals from across the district for a mass yoga session. The training classes for the master trainers and trainers are completed, and village-level yoga competitions are presently ongoing. The Collector said: 'In an effort to blend wellness and heritage tourist sites, yoga sessions will be held at famous tourist sites. On June 12 at Konda Reddy Burju, on June 17 a special yoga session will be held with 5,000 sanitation workers in Kurnool, and on June 18 at Mantralayam.

Collector launches ‘YogAndhra' campaign
Kurnool: District Collector P. Ranjith Basha emphasized making yoga a part of daily life while inaugurating the 'YogAndhra' campaign curtain-raiser at the Indoor Stadium on Wednesday. The month-long initiative aims to raise awareness ahead of International Yoga Day on June 21. Public and officials actively participated in the event, which featured yoga demonstrations by trained instructors. The Collector, Mayor, SP, and other officials joined in performing yoga asanas. In his address, the Collector recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 2014 UN proposal to observe International Yoga Day, which has been celebrated globally since 2015. He announced a district-wide campaign highlighting yoga's health benefits, culminating in a major event in Visakhapatnam on June 21, expected to draw over five lakh participants. The state aims to involve two crore people across Andhra Pradesh. The campaign schedule includes identifying and training master trainers from May 21–27, mandal-level training from May 28–June 3, and village/ward sessions from June 4–16. Key events include a mass rally on May 27, public events on May 28, a rangoli competition on June 2, and yoga-related competitions in schools and colleges on June 18–19. Mayor B Y Ramayya praised the initiative and recommended introducing yoga in schools for better health and performance.

Kurnool Collector pledges to donate organs
Stating that thousands of people across the Telugu States are losing lives due to the unavailability of vital organs at the right time, Kurnool district Collector P. Ranjith Basha urged everyone to come forward and pledge to donate their organs. Mr. Ranjith Basha announced that he too pledged to donate his organs. The Collector was the chief guest at a programme organised by KIMS Hospital, Kurnool, to commemorate the the milestone of completion of over 50 kidney transplants at the hospital. He felicitated the doctors who conducted the transplant surgeries and also honoured the kidney donors for their contribution. Speaking at the event, Bollineni Bhaskar Rao, CMD of KIMS Hospitals said, 'Kurnool has long been recognised for its medical services. Realising the need for advanced healthcare facilities in this region, we established our hospital here. We have brought in highly experienced medical specialists and equipped the hospital with state-of-the-art technology. Achieving over 50 kidney transplants with a 96 per cent success rate is a matter of pride for us.' Sunil Seepuri, COO of KIMS Kurnool, meanwhile, announced the launch of a massive campaign to register one lakh people across Rayalaseema on the 'Jeevandan' website for organ donation. Mr. Ranjith Basha inaugurated the initiative by registering his name on the Jeevandan portal and displayed his registration certificate. KIMS kidney Transplant Specialist Uma Maheshwara Rao, Nephrologist Anantha Rao, Urologist Manoj Kumar, Anaesthetist Bala Subramanyam, DMHO Shanti Kala, Kurnool Government Medical College principal K. Chitti Narasamma, GGH Superintendent K. Venkateshwarlu, and several others were also present.
