Kevin Costner's lawyer slams 'meritless' sexual harassment claims against the actor The Yellowstone actor is being sued by Devyn LaBella (Image: PARAMOUNT ) Kevin Costner's lawyer has described of sexual harassment allegation against the actor as "meritless". The Yellowstone actor is being sued by Devyn LaBella, who has claimed she was subjected to a "violent, unscripted, unscheduled rape scene" without notice on set in May 2023 while filming Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2. The 24--year-old stuntwoman's team first filed the lawsuit against Costner and Horizon producers last month and have now filed an amended complaint including text messages with the movie's intimacy coordinator, and the alleged emotions she felt after the scene. In response, Costner's lawyer Marty Singer told in a statement: "Ms. LaBella was doing a rehearsal on an Insert Shot for a scripted scene. There was no intimacy or anything sexual in the shot. "There was tugging on a dress while she was fully clothed in a dress with long bloomers lying down next to a male actor." The lawyer has also alleged that LaBella - who was a stunt double for series star Ella Hunt - thanked her supervisor for "these wonderful weeks" after finishing work on the Western saga. Article continues below Singer continued: "Numerous witnesses have contradicted Ms. LaBella's meritless claims. "She herself texted her supervisor after she wrapped stating, 'Thank you for these wonderful weeks.' "We look forward to the swift end of this specious lawsuit.' Court documents obtained by say Devyn was hired as a stunt double for lead actress Ella Hunt and not informed or consented to the added scene, which she alleges caused "permanent trauma". She also claimed the absence of an intimacy coordinator during filming. Her suit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, states the scene was not on the call sheet and Hunt herself refused to perform it, allegedly walking off set. She added Kevin directed actor Roger Ivens to perform the assault scene and asked her to stand in without adequate preparation or safeguards. Kevin's attorney Marty Singer denied the allegations, calling her a "serial accuser" and accusing her of "shakedown tactics". He stated: "Kevin always wants to make sure that everyone is comfortable working on his films and takes safety on set very seriously." He also said Devyn had approved and rehearsed a prior intimate scene and was "in good spirits" afterwards. Devyn, whose credits include Barbie (2023) and FX's American Horror Stories, said in a statement to People: "On that day, I was left exposed, unprotected, and deeply betrayed by a system that promised safety and professionalism." She added she sought therapy for anxiety and sleep disturbances after the incident and vowed to advocate for safer sets. Article continues below Her attorneys, James A. This film marks Ginny's first public statement about her crimes and features exclusive letters she wrote while awaiting sentencing and after her conviction. Ginny, then 35, was arrested in Great Baddow, Essex, on September 15, 2023, on suspicion of murdering her parents. She shocked police by freely confessing to the crimes, saying, "Cheer up, at least you've caught the bad guy." The bodies of Lois and John McCullough, aged 71 and 70, were discovered in sleeping bags at their residence, where they had been hidden for almost five years. Ginny was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum term of 36 years before being considered for release, and it was revealed that she had accumulated significant debt on her parents' credit cards and continued to spend their pensions after their deaths, reports Surrey Live. In September 2023, a missing persons' inquiry was initiated after the family's general practitioner expressed concerns over the lack of contact from the couple. Local law enforcement grew suspicious of Ginny due to her constant evasive explanations for her parents' absence. STAR TREK: THE ANIMATED SERIES: 5 Characters and Species Introduced by the Show
For many years, Star Trek: The Animated Series was overlooked by many Trekkies. However, in more recent years, interest in the show has been renewed. This is thanks in part to Star Trek: Lower Decks, which has included many characters and species originally introduced by The Animated Series in modern continuity. For this week's Trek Tuesday, we're sharing five characters and species that were originally introduced by The Animated Series. Did we include your favorite? Perhaps the most well-known of the species introduced by Star Trek: The Animated Series is the Caitians. Originally, these catlike people were introduced through The Animated Series' M'Ress (Majel Barrett Roddenberry). While M'Ress spoke in a soft and purring voice, later examples proved that this was not the only demeanor possessed by Caitians. RELATED: Star Trek : Answering Your Questions About Caitians In the intervening years, many Caitians have appeared onscreen. First, we saw a few in the background in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. And then in Star Trek: Prodigy Season 1, a young Caitian character appeared multiple times in the first half of the season. But perhaps the biggest role for a Caitian yet is Doctor T'Ana (Gillian Vigman), the Chief Medical Officer of the U.S.S. Cerritos on Lower Decks. All Rights Reserved The Edosians are a three-armed species of aliens. They were first introduced through Arex (James Doohan). In The Animated Series, Arex is a helmsman for the U.S.S. Enterprise. This seems like a suitable role, since a third arm is probably helpful for steering a starship. And as you'll see, many Edosians have jobs that make sense with their third limb. Since Arex, several Edosians have appeared on Lower Decks. In Season 1's 'Much Ado About Boimler,' we meet an Edosian medical specialist (Fred Tatasciore). He is the commanding officer of the Division 14 ship the U.S.S. Osler. And in Lower Decks Season 3's 'Room for Growth,' we meet Toz (Mary Holland). She is the commanding officer of the 'spa ship' the Dove. Finally, the trailer for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 suggests we'll get to see an Edosian bartender in live action in the show's third season. Notably, these catlike creatures are unique because they originally came from outside Star Trek. As far as the Franchise goes, they first appeared in The Animated Series episode 'The Slaver Weapon,' written by Larry Niven. But the Kzinti had previously appeared in Niven's non-franchise sci-fi prose stories. RELATED: Star Trek : The Curious Case of the Kzinti However, for many years, the Kzinti were discussed, but not utilized. In fact one writer, Jimmy Diggs, repeatedly lobbied for their return. But the Kizinti never appeared in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine , Star Trek: Voyager or Star Trek: Enterprise . Plus, the movie Diggs pitched featuring the Kzinti sadly never took off. Finally, in Star Trek: Picard Season 1's 'Nepenthe,' the Kzinti are briefly mentioned in dialogue. And on Lower Decks, a recurring crewmember, Ensign Taylor (Tatasciore), is Kzinti. Robert April Photo Cr: Marni Grossman/Paramount+ Robert April has a long history with the Franchise, his name having been taken from the original pitch for Star Trek. And in keeping with that pitch, April is recognized as the previous captain of the Enterprise before Christopher Pike. But he made his first onscreen appearance in The Animated Series' final episode, 'The Counter-Clock Incident.' Like many other characters on the show, in that episode, he was voiced by Doohan. In recent years, April became a live-action recurring character on Strange New Worlds. In this ongoing series, he is portrayed by Adrian Holmes. And thanks to this biological characteristic, they can effortlessly divide their bodies into multiple pieces. On The Animated Series, they were first introduced in the episode 'Bem,' through the titular Ari bn Bem (Doohan). Bem was an 'independent observer' aboard the Enterprise. However, he clandestinely made the situation harder for the Starfleet crew in order to observe how they coped. Shari yn Yem (Lennon Parham) was a Starfleet drill instructor sent to test the mettle of the California class crew. However, just like Bem, Shari rigged the tests to make them harder for the crew than they might have been otherwise. But Shari got her comeuppance when the Cerritos crew figured out her plan and thwarted it. Most of the Star Trek episodes discussed above are currently available for streaming on Paramount+. Yellowstone's Rip Wheeler actor unexpected career move after dramatic series finale
Yellowstone's Cole Hauser appears to have taken a significant career detour following recent behind-the-scenes drama. The hit series, created by Taylor Sheridan, wrapped up its fifth season last year with a dramatic finale. However, the narrative within this universe is far from over, with four spin-off shows either in the works or confirmed, and even more expected. Fans are keen to track the next ventures of the show's stars, including upcoming movies or TV shows featuring actors who played roles in the Dutton family. Kelly Reilly, known for her role as Beth Dutton, is set to appear in an upcoming crime drama. The London-born actress will play a former detective turned teacher living in a fictional Welsh town rocked by the death of a young boy. The show is titled Under Salt Marsh, reports the Mirror US . A recent Instagram post indicates he's been spending time in New Zealand. However, it doesn't seem to be for filming purposes as his IMDB page lists no upcoming projects in production involving him. Last week, a post was shared with a caption that expressed gratitude: "Thank you New Zealand! Time to cruise that way. The people and places I've seen on this adventure will never be forgotten." Previously, Hauser had posted a photo from Africa, commenting: "So long Botswana! What a magical place and people." He also made sure to tag Free Rein Coffee, a business venture he's involved in, hinting at the possibility of a work-related visit. Hauser is rumored to be gearing up for his next acting role, potentially returning as his character from Yellowstone alongside Reilly. They are expected to headline a new series that continues where the original left off, with production reportedly starting this summer. Details are scarce, but the working title is believed to be 6666, named after the ranch central to the storyline. In a conversation with People, the actor shared his thoughts: "I think America has spoken. They still love the show. We will see what happens over the next year or so and we'll see what's next. Hopefully, we can continue to get into people's living rooms and entertain them the way we have over the last seven years." This news follows the off-screen controversy surrounding Kevin Costner's departure from the show, which ultimately led to its conclusion. Fans are looking forward to his character's return Costner expressed his frustration to Deadline about being unable to pursue his own creative projects due to contractual obligations. Initially, he had no desire to break the contract, but when the show was put on hold for over a year, leaving him unable to work on anything else, his frustration grew. He explained to Deadline: "I had a contract to do [seasons] 5, 6 and 7. I was contracted to do that. There's nothing I could have done to get out of that, nor was I trying to just figure out how, when we started. When we finished, I wanted to do Horizon. "The whole situation arose because they shut down one whole season, didn't inform anyone, and I was left without work for 14 months. Their silence bothered me in terms of professional conduct. Why didn't they stand up for me? I went and sold this thing for them. I was only going to do one season. I ended up doing three. I fulfilled three.
