Sachin Parikh: From Stage Lights to Spotlight
New Delhi [India], June 26: In a world where many chase the spotlight, Sachin Parikh stands apart as an artist who let the craft guide his path. From Gujarati theatre to the big screen and now into the world of OTT, Sachin's journey has been anything but conventional — yet deeply rooted in passion, legacy, and performance. Born and raised in Mumbai, Sachin Parikh was never far from the world of performance. With a father who was an avid theatre enthusiast, storytelling ran in his blood. Though his academic path led him to a degree from Narsee Monjee College and a General LLB from Jitendra Chauhan College of Law, destiny had other plans. Even while working a regular banking job, Sachin never abandoned his first love — the stage. His initial acclaim came through Gujarati theatre, where he delivered powerful performances across countless plays for over two decades. One of the landmark moments in his theatre career was his portrayal of Krishna in Kanji vs Kanji — the play that inspired the hit Bollywood film OMG – Oh My God!, with Akshay Kumar stepping into the same role on screen. Other celebrated plays include Masala Mami, Saiyer Tu Aave To Janu, and Dikro to Wahi ni Thapan, each showcasing his natural command over stagecraft. Sachin's foray into television and cinema was a natural extension of his theatrical roots. Over the years, he's shared the screen with industry stalwarts like Aamir Khan (PK), Ajay Devgn (Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji), and Manoj Bajpayee (Aligarh). He also portrayed Brij Narain Kaul in Main Atal Hoon alongside Pankaj Tripathi — a role that brought both dignity and presence to the screen. His roles have spanned diverse genres and formats — from television serials like Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and Pushpa Impossible (where he played the beloved Manish Parikh) to web series such as Karm Yuddh, Avrodh 2, and Crackdown 2. International audiences also took note of his talent in the global series The Most Beautiful Hands of Delhi. Most recently, his portrayal of Prabhat Singh Chauhan in Vasudha on Zee TV has won him praise for its depth and emotional maturity. While Bollywood opened its doors to him with films like Bajrang Aur Ali, where he played Ali, it's his upcoming Gujarati film Vahali that has his heart. 'As a father, the script of Vahali moved me deeply,' he says. 'It speaks of the beautiful bond between a father and daughter. It's emotional, romantic, and rooted in family values — something I connect with as a parent and an artist.' Parikh's choices reflect a quiet confidence in storytelling over stardom. He gravitates toward roles that speak to him emotionally, often taking on characters with layered depth and maturity — the kind that demand more than just performance, but understanding. With The India Story — his next film alongside Shreyas Talpade and Kajal Aggarwal — on the horizon, and Vahali ready to resonate with audiences, Sachin Parikh continues to redefine what it means to be a versatile, rooted, and emotionally intelligent actor. Sachin's powerful return in front of Gujarati audiences with Vahali marks a special milestone — a comeback that feels both personal and cinematic.

Meanwhile, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is nearing Rs 100 crore, solidifying its box office success. Earlier this year, news broke that Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani would join forces once again after their blockbuster hits '3 Idiots' and 'PK'. They soon confirmed their collaboration, revealing the project as a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke , set to release at Christmas 2026. Since then, excitement has been building around the film. During an interview celebrating Sitaare Zameen Par's success, Aamir Khan shared insights about reuniting with Hirani. A Significant and Challenging Project In an interview with Pinkvilla, Aamir revealed that filming for the biopic will commence in the final quarter of 2025, with preparations already underway. He described the project as a significant undertaking, stating, 'I think, Phalke is a huge challenge. Again, it's not a regular mainstream film loaded with action and set pieces. It is the story of a man, who did things that no one could even imagine back in the day. He was way ahead, he was an adventurer, he was a person who was full of life, and excitement about something he wanted to do. It is one man's journey on an adventure, which even he does not know about. It will be a great honour for Raju and me to make a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke.' Blending Drama with Comedy All of Aamir and Hirani's collaborations, including '3 Idiots' and 'PK', have been known for their strong comedic elements. When discussing whether the biopic 'Phalke' would also incorporate humor, Aamir explained that both he and the writer Abhijat Joshi share a special inclination towards comedy, as does Hirani. He mentioned that the three of them enjoy working within the genre that blends drama with humor, and this upcoming film will likely follow the same approach. 'Sitaare Zameen Par' Nears Rs 100 Crore Milestone 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is quickly approaching the Rs 100 crore milestone within just nine days of its release, establishing itself as a box office hit. Directed by RS Prassana, the film is expected to achieve a clean hit status once it surpasses Rs 150 crore in India, likely during its third weekend.

EXCLUSIVE: Aamir Khan on why Sitaare Zameen Par's success is important; Says, "Audience will only get action films if..."
Aamir Khan is one of India's most beloved actors. He continues to charm audiences with his latest film, Sitaare Zameen Par. The Ghajini and Lagaan star sat down with Pinkvilla for an exclusive masterclass, sharing insights on the movie's theatrical success, his bold decision to delay selling its digital rights, and his fight to preserve the magic of cinema. Aamir Khan Shares Why He Thought Of Not Selling The Digital Rights Of His Movie Sitaare Zameen Par Before Release When asked why he didn't sell Sitaare Zameen Par's OTT rights before its release, Aamir Khan was refreshingly honest. 'I'm not a practical guy,' he said with a grin. 'I do what feels right.' He explained his choice to prioritize theatres, pointing out that the industry's current model of releasing films on OTT platforms just four weeks after their South Indian debut or eight weeks in Bollywood is hurting cinemas. 'We're killing the theatre business ourselves,' he said. Using a simple analogy, Aamir pointed to a bottle in front of him. 'It's like saying, 'Buy this bottle now, or get it free in eight weeks.' Why would anyone pay?' he asked. He believes this approach is why the theatrical business is struggling worldwide. For Aamir, the theatre experience is unmatched. 'Picture 300-400 people laughing and crying together in a dark hall,' he said. 'Watching Lagaan alone at home can't compare to cheering 'Kachra! Kachra!' with a crowd", the actor justified. Watch Pinkvilla's Masterclass Featuring Aamir Khan Aamir Khan Feels It Is Audience's Responsibility To Support All Kinds Of Films And Not Just Action Films Aamir stressed that theatres aren't just for action films or grand spectacles. 'People love stories. All kinds of stories,' he said. But he urged audiences to take responsibility. 'If you only support action films, that's all filmmakers will make. And then you will have to watch only action movies in theatres. If you like all types of films and want to watch all types of films, go to theatres. Your support gives creators the freedom to tell diverse stories', the PK actor explained. He also highlighted the pressure filmmakers face, adding, 'Studios often command us to make a certain kind of film, and we have to follow. But when audiences back unique stories, it gives us the strength to create what's in our hearts.' Aamir Khan Shares Why He Didn't Immediately Start Work On An Action Film After The Debacle Of Laal Singh Chaddha When asked about being offered action roles, Aamir shared that after Laal Singh Chaddha, many pushed him toward action projects. But Sitaare Zameen Par's sensitive story won him over. 'It's such a beautiful tale,' he said. He recalled a similar experience with Taare Zameen Par, when people questioned his choice to make a 'documentary-like' film about dyslexia, where he appeared only in the second half. 'I've always had to fight for what I believe in. I follow my heart.' Aamir Khan concluded. Sitaare Zameen Par is now playing in theatres. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates on Aamir Khan and Sitaare Zameen Par.

Soon after, they made the collaboration official, confirming that the film will be a biopic of Dadasaheb Phalke and announced a Christmas 2026 release. Ever since, there is a tremendous anticipation to know more on the feature film. In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, celebrating the success of Sitaare Zameen Par, we asked Aamir Khan to share an update on the reunion with Rajkumar Hirani. Aamir Khan confirmed that the film will go on floors in the last quarter of 2025 and the prep-work is currently underway. 'I think, Phalke is a huge challenge. He was way ahead, he was an adventurer, he was a person who was full of life, and excitement about something he wanted to do. It is one man's journey on an adventure, which even he does not know about. It will be a great honour for Raju and me to make a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke,' Aamir shared. Be it 3 Idiots or PK, all the collaborations of Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani have been laced with strong undertones of comedy. Will we get to see humour in Phalke too? Aamir answered, 'I think, Raju and Abhijat (Joshi, writer) have special leaning towards comedy and so do I. All 3 of us really like humour and I think that's the genre which Raju likes to work in – drama with humour. So, this will also probably fall into the same genre.'
