Stephen Colbert tells Donald Trump to go 'f*** yourself' in brutal segment
The Late Show's Stephen Colbert hit back at President Donald Trump after he said he 'absolutely loved' that the CBS show was getting cancelled Stephen Colbert told US President Donald Trump to go 'f**k himself' as he responded to a tweet the POTUS made about the CBS talk show host. CBS recently announced their decision to cancel The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, with the show not returning after May 2026. CBS said financial difficulties were part of the reason they decided to cancel the long-running show, as they were 'losing money' in a challenging late-night show environment. Convicted felon and US President Trump, who is known to lash out at celebrities, was delighted at the news and took to his social media to share his excitement over The Late Show's cancellation. "I absolutely love that Colbert' got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert!" he wrote. "Greg Gutfield is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show." In a segment on Stephen's show, the host read out Trump's tweet while doing an impression of the President's voice. The audience booed the tweet before Stephen confidently said: "How dare you, sir? Would an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism?" before turning to a different camera and adding: "Go f**k yourself!" Cheers could be heard from the audience before they started chanting: "Stephen! Stephen! Stephen!" After the cancellation of the show was announced, fellow talk show hosts shared their support for the star. Jimmy Kimmel wrote: "Love you Stephen. F**k you and all your Sheldons, CBS.' Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers also posted their support. Tonight Show host Jimmy said: "I'm just as shocked as everyone," while Seth posted: "I'm going to miss having him on TV every night." In a joint statement, Paramount and CBS bosses said: "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert will end its historic run in May 2026 at the end of the broadcast season. We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire The Late Show franchise at that time. 'We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television.' It continued: "This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.' Stephen broke the news last Thursday and told viewers: "I want to let you know something I found out just last night. Next year will be our last season. The network will be ending The Late Show in May.'

Priyanka Chaturvedi Slams Trump's Fresh India-Pakistan Ceasefire Claim
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Saturday criticized former US President Donald Trump's recent claim that he helped broker a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, questioning his repeated references to a trade deal and noting that no such agreement exists between India and the US. 'If Donald Trump keeps repeating the trade deal got India Pakistan to agree to a ceasefire then how is it that India-US don't have a trade deal yet? Is that why POTUS keeps repeating it to build pressure on India? Since even America knows there's no trade deal with Pakistan there's only a terror deal because that's the only thing Pakistan excels in,' Chaturvedi said on X. If Donald Trump keeps repeating the trade deal got India Pakistan to agree to a ceasefire then how is it that India-US don't have a trade deal yet? Is that why POTUS keeps repeating it to build pressure on India? Since even America knows there's no trade deal with Pakistan… — Priyanka Chaturvedi(@priyankac19) July 19, 2025 US President Donald Trump on Friday once again asserted his intervention led to the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan following "Operation Sindoor" in May 2025. "We have ended a lot of wars. And these were big wars. India and Pakistan were at it, and they were back and forth, and it was getting larger and larger, and we got it resolved through trade," Trump said. Trump also claimed that "four or five" jets were shot down during the conflict. These remarks, made for the second time this week, contradict India's consistent denials of any US mediation. In fact, aircraft were being shot out of the skies. Five, five, four or five, but I believe five jets were shot down actually," although he did not mention which country's planes were being referred to. India On Mediation Claims India has consistently maintained that the ceasefire with Pakistan after the successful completion of Operation Sindoor was not the result of any external mediation, but rather occurred when Pakistan's DGMO reached out to his Indian counterpart. Pahalgam Terror Attack And Operation Sindoor On April 22, Pakistan-backed terrorists attacked tourists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, killing 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen while leaving several others injured. In retaliation, the Indian Armed Forces on May 7 launched precision strikes on nine terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir under 'Operation Sindoor,' killing over 100 dreaded terrorists and avenging the loss of lives in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Americans detained in Venezuela freed in prisoner swap
The roughly 250 men deported from the U.S. and detained in El Salvador were returned to their native Venezuela on Friday in exchange for the release of American prisoners. Driving the news: Ten Americans and an undisclosed number of Venezuelan political prisoners are being freed in exchange for the roughly 250 Venezuelan men who were accused of being members of Tren de Aragua and detained at CECOT, a high-security prison in El Salvador. What they're saying:"Thanks to @POTUS's leadership, ten Americans who were detained in Venezuela are on their way to freedom," Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on X. The Americans are expected to stop in El Salvador before ultimately returning to the U.S., Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele said in a post. "As was offered to the Venezuelan regime back in April, we carried out this exchange in return for a considerable number of Venezuelan political prisoners, people that regime had kept in its prisons for years, as well as all the American citizens it was holding as hostages," Bukele posted. Zoom out: The diplomatic negotiations are a major feat for the Trump administration as its worked to return Americans detained abroad. "Every wrongfully detained American in Venezuela is now free and back in our homeland," a State Department press release said. In the case of these 10 Americans, the State Department said they were jailed by the Venezuelan authorities "under highly questionable circumstances and without proper due process." This return follows an earlier round of six released American prisoners in Venezuela this February. Zoom in: The Venezuelan men are expected to be free once they land in their home country after being detained in El Salvador since mid-March. The men were accused of being members of Tren de Aragua, a gang that started in Venezuela and was declared a foreign terrorist organization by Trump. However, most of the men sent to CECOT were not charged with prior crimes and were not given the opportunity to deny the gang allegation.
