Common services centre at Mithapur set for July opening
Patna: A cutting-edge common services centre (CSC), being developed at city's educational hub Mithapur at a cost of Rs 30 crore, is set to open this July. Spread over 26,000 square feet, the facility promises to serve as a modern, multifunctional hub catering to the needs of the residents as well as students. Mithapur, home to six prominent universities and educational institutions, has long been the academic nerve centre of the city. The new CSC, currently in its final stages of construction, will centralise essential services, from banking to food, in a single, easily accessible location. Being developed by Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL), the G+2 (ground plus two floors) structure will offer a unique blend of practical services and leisure spaces. Priya Saurabh, PSCL spokesperson, said the facility has been conceptualised with students at the heart of its design. "We are creating a hub that caters to all basic needs of the student community while ensuring modern amenities and convenience. It is a space where they can not only complete essential tasks but also connect and unwind," she said. The ground floor of the CSC will feature a post office, municipal corporation office, banks, ATM kiosks and a large public courtyard designed to function as a community gathering space. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? The second floor will host 'Didi ki Rasoi', a women-led community kitchen initiative. The open-air café with seating arrangements and aesthetic lighting will provide a vibrant social zone where students can relax, study or collaborate. In a nod to cultural enrichment, a small amphitheatre-style space is also being planned for live performances, talks and open-mic events. Each floor has been equipped with gender-specific restrooms. The structure is also designed with sustainability in mind. A modern drainage system has been integrated and connected to the nearby Mithapur Sewage Treatment Plant, addressing a long-standing issue of waterlogging in the area during monsoon. Crucially, the project's strategic location gains importance with its planned integration with the upcoming Patna Metro network, which will have a station nearby. "This development is a major step towards creating a smart educational ecosystem in Patna. The CSC will not only serve the immediate needs of the student population but also elevate the area's profile as a leading academic and innovation hub," said Saurabh.

Common service centre for students at Mithapur soon
1 2 Patna: The city's educational hub, Mithapur, is on the verge of a major transformation. A cutting-edge common service centre (CSC), being developed at a cost of Rs 30 crore, is set to open this July. Spread over 26,000 square feet, the facility promises to serve as a modern, multifunctional hub catering to thousands of students and residents in the area. Mithapur, home to six prominent universities and educational institutions, has long been the academic nerve centre of the city. However, a lack of coordinated infrastructure and support services has often left students juggling between several locations for basic needs. The new CSC, currently in its final stages of construction, is designed to fill that gap by centralising essential services in a single, easily accessible location. Being developed by Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL), the G+2 (ground plus two floors) structure will offer a unique blend of practical services and leisure spaces. It is proposed to become a one-stop destination for everything from banking, postal and administrative work to daily utilities, grooming and food. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo Priya Saurabh, spokesperson for PSCL, said the facility has been conceptualised with students at the heart of its design. Road over Mandiri drain to be ready before monsoon: PSCL
1 2 Patna: Around 70% of the construction work on the road over the Mandiri drain, connecting Nehru Path to Ashok Rajpath, has been completed. Slab casting has been done over approximately 1,000 metres of the drain. The two-lane road will be 1,289 metres long and include 4.5-metre-wide service lanes on both sides. The project, being executed under Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL), is expected to improve connectivity and ease traffic flow. Officials have set a target to complete the work by the end of June, before the onset of the monsoon. According to the detailed project report, the road is based on a double-barrel reinforced cement concrete (RCC) box model, which can be opened from the top to allow cleaning of the drain without damaging the road surface. "To expedite the remaining work, multiple segments are being developed simultaneously. Alongside the drain reconstruction, road construction is underway. Once the roadwork is completed, landscaping will be carried out on both sides for beautification," a PSCL official said. The project, with an estimated cost of Rs 86 crore, will connect the income-tax roundabout on Bailey Road to Bansghat on Danapur Bankipur Path. A box drain is being laid throughout with a two-lane road above it and additional service lanes to ease vehicle entry and turns. A service drain and utility duct are also being built to carry sewage from adjoining houses. PSCL spokesperson Priya Saurabh said, "Construction of three desilting chambers and four sluice gates is also underway. Two ramps and three desilting chambers are being built for drain maintenance. Four sluice gates are being constructed to prevent Ganga water from entering the drain during the monsoon when water levels rise." The Mandiri drain is the city's largest, linking nine major drains – S P Verma Road, Mithapur, Gardanibagh, Babu Bazar, Dhobighat, Eco Park, Chhajjubagh, MLA Flats, and the irrigation building drain. It plays a critical role in managing both sewage and rainwater drainage for six major catchment areas. The construction agreement for the project was signed on Sept 19, 2023 and work began shortly thereafter. The project is expected to conclude by the end of next month, approximately 21 months after commencement.
