Diablo 4 Is Free For PS Plus Subscribers In July As Sony Hints At Upcoming Price Hike

The demon-slaying, action-RPG Diablo 4 is coming to PS Plus Essential in July after celebrating its two-year anniversary. It arrives just in time for PlayStation 5 and PS4 players to delve into next month's free Sins of the Horadrim season 9 update, and as Sony hints at a possible future price hike for the subscription service. Free is a nice price for PS Plus subscribers to experience Diablo 4's grimly fun main campaign, with a streamlined seasonal level grind and the paid Vessel of Hatred expansion for anyone interested in sticking around after the main story wraps. Season 9 adds a new questline, micro-dungeons called Horadric Strongrooms, Escalating Nightmares that chain together three dungeons for a shot at fighting the Exalted version of Mephisto acolyte Astarothnew, a new spellcrafting system, and mouse and keyboard support on console. Also arriving to PS Plus on July 1 is The King of Fighters XV (PS5 and PS4) and French climbing puzzle adventure Jusant (just PS5). The latter was one of 2023's late but great indie releases that mixes the cinematic moodiness of something like Ico with a movement system influenced by GIRP. To mark 15 years since PS Plus launched, Sony is also wrapping up June with some special deals for subscribers, as well as new perks like an extended free trial of Monster Hunter Wilds for Premium members. I love how Sony talks about PS Plus with great fanfare but won't post subscriber this data, I was able to use cross-reference PS Plus sub counts with MAUs to get a rough idea of the proportion of PlayStation monthly users who actually subscribe to Plus. — Derek Strickland (@DeekeTweak) June 25, 2025 PS Plus has had some decent months this year, which might be why a price hike feels like it's coming just over the horizon. PlayStation CEO Hideaki Nishino recently remarked that players kept signing up for more expensive tiers even after the last round of increases. 'The PlayStation Plus service offers great value for our players, and we will continue to add more value and adjust our pricing strategy in a dynamic way to maximize profitability,' he told investors earlier this month. Ever wonder what the most popular games on the service are? Sony recently disclosed the top 10 in no particular order to Game File. They are mostly single-player games, including four first-party Sony blockbusters: God of War Ragnarök, Ghost of Tsushima, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and The Last of Us Part I. Others include Hogwarts Legacy and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, alongside no-brainers like Grand Theft Auto V. Less obvious top-performers are Dead by Daylight, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, and UFC 5. PlayStation's global services VP Nick Maguire told Game File the company remains committed to bringing its big first-party games to PS Plus no earlier than 18 to 24 months after they comes out. Instead, it's been wooing subscribers to upgrade to the priciest tier with PS1 and PS2 classics, while streaming for PS3 games has been rarer. 'Through streaming, we'll still continue to look at those ones,' he said. 'We haven't ruled them out. The opportunities are there. But there are a lot of PS3 games already streaming.' . PS Plus Essential July 2025 games reveal time, and when you can download them

Sony has confirmed the PS Plus July 2025 reveal time, which is when we'll be finding out the incoming PS Plus Essential games for the month ahead. Here's everything you need to know. It's nearly time for a fresh batch of complimentary games for PS Plus subscribers, so make sure to download this month's offerings before they revert to their usual price. PS Plus continues to have a lot to prove as it oscillates between stellar lineups and disappointing letdowns. The Days of Play event took gamers by surprise when the service unveiled an impressive array of bonus PS Plus games, including new and classic Destiny 2 expansions. ‌ However, since then, the future seems less certain. FBC: Firebreak was a promising addition, but the PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 release failed to impress, with Battlefield 2042 landing on the service after being largely abandoned by shooter enthusiasts. The service has plenty in its arsenal for Extra and Premium subscribers either way, so players will be content with their already extensive backlogs, but Essential players could do with more. ‌ This unpredictable pattern has made the service feel like a bit of a gamble. It's even more frustrating for players who feel somewhat trapped, given that they're paying for PlayStation 's online service anyway. But there's always hope. The upcoming PS Plus Essential drop could be a game-changer if we're extremely fortunate. Our PS Plus Essential July 2025 predictions suggested that we might see some viral classics and indie treasures that fans of high-speed shooters will love. However, we won't know for sure until Sony reveals the games, and subsequently drops them in the laps of players everywhere. So, when can we expect the PS Plus Essential July 2025 reveal? Here's what you need to know about the forthcoming drop. PS Plus Essential July 2025 reveal time The PS Plus Essential July 2025 reveal time is scheduled for 8.30am PDT / 11.30am EDT / 4.30pm BST on Wednesday, June 25. This is because the PS Plus Essential games are always unveiled on the last Wednesday of the month before being made available to players on the following Tuesday, which in this case is Tuesday, July 1. These new games will replace the current PS Plus Essential games, which include Destiny 2: The Final Shape, NBA 2K25, Alone in the Dark 2024 and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. Be sure to download them before they return to their full price, which as we all know, can be a real pain.

PS Plus Essential July 2025 predictions and announcement date

PS Plus subscribers are excited to see what new games will be added to the service for free in July 2025 – and we won't have long to wait before we find out PS Plus is a major draw for gamers, who are eagerly anticipating another month of complimentary games to dive into. Despite facing stiff competition from Xbox Game Pass and an anticipated subscription price increase following the debut of CoD: WW2 on the service, PS Plus remains a solid deal for players when considered independently. The most recent release featured FBC: Firebreak from Remedy Entertainment, with the PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 games also giving players the opportunity to revisit Battlefield 2042, a game that initially stumbled at launch but has since rebuilt itself into a top-tier shooter. ‌ The service provides a welcome distraction for those disgruntled by having to pay for online services, offering a vast library to Extra and Premium subscribers, and a selection of games to Essential subscribers each month, provided they maintain their subscription. It's a beneficial arrangement for many, and it appears that a new batch of games is on the horizon. Fortunately, we have reliable ways to predict what's coming before the games are officially announced. ‌ The most effective method to anticipate the upcoming PS Plus offerings is to examine the games that were released exactly a year prior, scrutinise their original PlayStation release dates, and then add a year to those dates to identify what games were launched around the same time. In this instance, we're focusing on the Essential games for July 2024, which included Among Us, NHL 24 and Borderlands 3. The standout game here is Among Us, so adding a year to its December 2021 PS5 and PS4 release date, we can expect games like Hello Neighbor 2, Neon White, and Metal: Hellsinger, which debuted on the PlayStation platform in December 2022. If these games are indeed part of the line-up, it would make for an exceptional month, particularly for fans of high-quality indie games and viral sensations – but we won't know for certain until they officially appear on the service. So, when will we find out? Here's the PS Plus Essential July 2025 reveal time. PS Plus Essential July 2025 reveal time The PS Plus Essential July 2025 reveal time is scheduled for 8.30am PDT / 11.30am EDT / 4.30pm BST on Wednesday, June 25. This is because the announcement of PS Plus Essential games always occurs on the last Wednesday of any given month, with the games set to be released on the following Tuesday, which in this case is Tuesday, July 1. It's always a thrill to look forward to new games arriving for PS Plus subscribers at no additional charge, and even though our prediction strategy doesn't foresee any major AAA titles, we're certainly keen on welcoming more players for Neon White. It truly merits it, after all.

PS Plus Essential May 2025 games release time and every PS4 and PS5 title leaving

More games are coming to PS Plus Essential subscribers, but more games will have to leave in order to make way for them very soon. It's time for another bout of PS Plus Essential games (the best all year, might we add), which will arrive in your library incredibly soon. PS Plus came out swinging with its latest reveal, and if you've been following the gaming world for the last few years, you'll know just how good it is for Essential subscribers. The tier of the gaming service has been living it large for the last couple of months, especially after the PS Plus Essential April 2025 reveal delivered a nostalgic package featuring RoboCop and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for players. ‌ It got far better this month, though, with the PS Plus Essential May 2025 announcement revealing the arrival of Balatro, the Game Awards GOTY-nominated card game that has won over players across the world, especially after the arrival of Balatro on Xbox Game Pass only a couple of months ago. The service also comes packaged with Warhammer 40K: Boltgun, an exemplary Boomer Shooter that will no doubt fill the bloody, pulpy, tongue-in-cheek hole left between now and the launch of the similarly aggressive and throwback-inducing Doom: The Dark Ages. ‌ Capped off with Ark: Survival Ascended, it's a big month for players, and thankfully for us, there isn't long for us to wait before the PS Plus Essential May 2025 games release time. Here's what you need to know about when the new games will debut. PS Plus Essential May 2025 games release time The PS Plus Essential May 2025 release time is set for 2am PDT / 5am EDT / 10am BST on Tuesday, May 6. We know this because the PS Plus games of any tier always drop on the Tuesday following their announcement, an hour after the previous games leave. That means you have only a short period of time to add RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker's Memory to your library before they stop being free downloads, meaning you'll have to pay for them if you want them. It's a pretty big month of games to be looking forward to, but don't let that distract you from picking up the older games before they officially arrive. Brace yourself, because Balatro has the ability to get really infectious.
