How to Enjoy Phi Phi Islands with Kids? - Family Fun in Thailand's Island Paradise!
REPORT Listly by Joanna James Turquoise waters, stunning cliffs, and laid-back island vibes — the Phi Phi Islands in Thailand are a tropical paradise for all travellers — couples, solo adventurers and especially families with kids in tow. The Thai islands are the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, treating island visitors to a tropical getaway like no other. Here's a comprehensive guide on how you can make your next tour of the Phi Phi Islands fun, safe, and memorable for the whole family. Come, explore and discover! Choose the Best Time to Visit Most travellers to the Phi Phi Islands choose to visit from November through April when the islands see its dry season. While there's clear skies, calm seas and gentle waves, it is also the high tourism season, meaning large crowds and peak prices. Meanwhile, in the shoulder season, from May through October, while there's some chance of rain, it makes for a good compromise with lower crowds and lower prices. Go Island Hopping For those craving a bit of adventure in the tropical islands, hop aboard a boat and set sail into the wide-open seas on an exciting island-hopping tour. Opt for a traditional long-tail boat tour and make your adventure one that is truly Thai. Some of the must-visit spots around Phi Phi Islands include Maya Bay, Monkey Beach, Pileh Lagoon and the stunning Viking Cave — an itinerary sure to unleash the true adventurer in you. Pack Smart Packing smart can make or break any holiday, and the Phi Phi Islands are anything but an exception. If there's only one thing to keep in mind when packing for your tropical island getaway, it would be not to pack your entire wardrobe. The Phi Phi Islands are pretty easygoing when it comes to clothing, and the level of fancy, or if any level of fancy is required for that matter, is totally a personal choice. Lightweight and breathable summer clothes rule here, so make sure to pack more of them. Aside from that, flip-flops, swimwear, hats, enough sunscreen, and mosquito repellent should be fine. Also, try to opt for a handy backpack instead of having to lug a bulky suitcase. Enjoy Beach Activities What is a holiday in the Phi Phi Islands without some blissful beach days? After all, it is the islands' picture-postcard beaches that put the Thai archipelago on the map for almost all its visitors. Treat yourself to some much-needed relaxation, lounging under swaying palms and sipping on tropical cocktails while the little ones have the time of their lives building sandcastles and exploring tide pools. Sample Thai Cuisine No matter what you see and do, your tropical island experience wouldn't be complete without getting a taste of authentic Thai cuisine. Embark on an exploration of local cuisine at one of the finest Phi Phi Island family resorts, the likes of SAii Phi Phi Island Village, and let the true foodie in you unleash. From classic Pad Thai to satisfying Khao Soi and spicy Tom Yum Goong, you are absolutely spoiled for choice. Keep Safety in Mind Health and safety should always be top of mind, regardless of the destination, especially when it's a family getaway with kids in tow. Make sure to watch the little ones closely near water and cliffs, and don't forget to apply insect repellent in the evenings. You've got to protect the kids as well as yourself from those pesky mosquitoes. Plan Downtime While it may be tempting to squeeze as much as possible into your itinerary, downtime is undoubtedly essential. Kids may tire from the heat and various other stuff, such as boat rides and flights, so allow time for rest, perhaps some poolside relaxation, or a quiet beach picnic.

How to Plan the Perfect Trip to Phuket? - Your Ultimate Tropical Escape Awaits
Thailand's largest island, Phuket, hardly needs any introduction. The Andaman Sea island, blessed with pristine beaches, lush jungles, vibrant culture, and rich cuisine, makes Phuket one of Southeast Asia's most beloved tropical destinations. Travellers to the Thai island are in for a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, losing themselves in exhilarating water sports and lounging under swaying palms. Here's a comprehensive guide on how you can plan the perfect trip to Phuket. Come, explore! Choose the Best Time to Visit The majority opinion is that the best time to visit Phuket is from November to April during the island's dry season. Clear blue skies, calm seas, and warm sunshine — it is just the perfect time of the year to get out and about and lose yourself in the tropical idyll. However, it is also when the Thai island draws the most visitors and prices reach their peak. While there's some chance of rain, the shoulder season from May to October makes for a good compromise with lower crowds and lower prices. Craft the Perfect Itinerary While it's the island's string of picture postcard beaches that put Phuket on the map for almost all its visitors, the Thai island has so much more to offer than just beaches. For a dose of adventure, hop aboard a boat and set sail to explore the nearby Phi Phi Islands, James Bond Island, or Coral Island. The spiritual seekers can visit the renowned Big Buddha and Wat Chalong, while those looking for some relaxation can make their way to the sandy shores of Phang Nga Bay. As the sun goes down and the darkness descends, hit the vibrant night markets for a slice of authentic Thai shopping, food and culture. Try the Local Cuisine Fun, exciting and fascinating things to do in Phuket may be plentiful, but your Thai island experience wouldn't be complete without getting a taste of its authentic local cuisine. Embark on an exploration of local cuisine, perhaps at one of the finest Bang Tao beach hotels, including the likes of SAii Laguna Phuket. Treat yourself to an assortment of traditional Thai dishes and let your longing taste buds revel in the blend of mouth-watering flavours. From classic Pad Thai to satisfying Khao Soi and spicy Tom Yum Goong, the foodie in you is absolutely spoiled for choice. Pack Smart If there's one thing to keep in mind when packing for Phuket, it is not to pack your entire wardrobe. Ladies, this one's for you! Phuket is pretty easygoing when it comes to clothing, and simplicity is the norm. Pack a decent amount of light, breathable clothes, depending on the length of your stay, some swimwear and beach essentials, and enough sunblock and insect repellent. Also, a handy backpack might be a better choice than lugging a bulky suitcase. Add a Touch of Wellness What is a holiday in Phuket without some wellness and relaxation? The idyllic Thai island is well known for its traditional Thai massages, yoga retreats, detox programmes and mindfulness workshops. On holiday with your loved one? Treat yourself to a lovely couples' massage and let your body, mind and soul wallow in rejuvenation together. Staying Safe and Respectful Thailand is known for its friendly people and warm hospitality, but as responsible tourists, it is only right that you respect local customs, traditions and values. Dressing modestly when visiting temples is something not to forget and always remove your shoes before entering temple premises. From a health standpoint, sticking to bottled water is the safer choice but filtered water should also be fine.

How Roti Sai Mai Became Thailand's Food Icon With Indian Roots
Thailand is known not just for its scenic beaches and ornate temples but also for its vibrant street food culture. From early mornings to late nights, the streets come alive with the sounds and aromas of dishes being cooked and shared. Food here is more than a meal - it is part of daily life. While savoury favourites like Pad Thai and Som Tum often take centre stage, Thai desserts deserve the spotlight too. One such delicacy is Roti Sai Mai - a simple yet beloved sweet made from thin roti wraps and soft, colourful threads of spun sugar. Most commonly found in the city of Ayutthaya, Roti Sai Mai is more than a snack. It reflects the region's cultural influences, culinary creativity, and deep-rooted history. In this feature, we will explore its origins, what makes it so special, and why it continues to charm both locals and visitors alike. Also Read: Make Different Versions Of Thai Curry At Home With These Easy Recipes A Glimpse Into The History: Roti Sai Mai's Link With Indian Cuisine Wondering if this dessert has an Indian connection? You are absolutely right. Roti Sai Mai has its roots in the kitchens of Indian Muslim communities who settled in Thailand centuries ago. The dish is believed to have originated in Ayutthaya, Thailand's former capital known for its cultural diversity. According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Indian Muslims introduced traditional rotis that were eventually adapted into lighter, crepe-style wraps, possibly influenced by Chinese spring roll techniques. Around 60 years ago, a local Muslim vendor named Bang Pia (Salem Saengarun) is said to have created the flossing technique by stretching leftover caramel into fine sugar threads. As per the Michelin Guide, Ayutthaya's historic role as a trade hub shaped Roti Sai Mai into the dessert we know today - a blend of Indian roti, Chinese-style thinness, and Thai flair for sweetness and colour. Today, vendors like Mae Pom in Ayutthaya, whose family business earned a mention in the Michelin Guide, continue to preserve these traditional techniques and share them with new generations.
