#SHOWBIZ: Siti enthrals 4,600 concertgoers at Genting Highlands show
GENTING HIGHLANDS: Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin's enduring star power was undeniable last night as approximately 4,600 concertgoers packed Resorts World Genting's Arena of Stars for her performance.
Despite having staged three concerts last year, including one with Indonesian singer Judika in December, fans clearly can't get enough of her, as evidenced by the sold-out venue.
Siti graciously thanked her devoted fans who have supported her from the start, while also acknowledging those attending for the very first time.
"I'd like to thank everyone for coming, especially those who are watching me for the first time. I hope this won't be the first and the last, okay?" she told the cheering crowd between songs.
Among the attendees were 14 fans who had travelled all the way from Medan, Indonesia, specifically for the concert.
Last night's concert was the first of a two-night engagement titled 'Violet Skies: Dato' Sri Siti Nurhaliza Live In Arena Of Stars', with another performance scheduled for this evening.
During the slightly over two-hour show, 46-year-old Siti performed 26 songs.
She was joined on stage by special guests, starting with her nephew, Ahmad Daiyan, followed by Noh Salleh from the band Hujan.
Their duet began with the Indonesian classic 'Bengawan Solo', followed by 'Rahsia Tuhan', before they launched into Hujan's upbeat hit, 'Pagi Yang Gelap'.
Paying homage to the Nineties' rock era, Siti also delivered three popular rock numbers: BumiPutra Rockers' 1999 hit 'Seribu Tahun Takkan Mungkin', Fotograf's 1992 song 'Di Alam Fana Cintamu', and Medicine's 1999 track 'Tika Dan Saat Ini'.
These renditions were met with thunderous applause from the audience.
