Chick-fil-A crowned most satisfying fast-food chain in America once again
American fast-food chain customers have spoken – and Chick-fil-A is still on top. Chick-fil-A was voted the highest in customer satisfaction for the 11th consecutive year, according to the newest American Consumer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) rankings released in June. The Atlanta-based fast-food chain beat out its competitors, including KFC, which had the highest drop-off among 23 other major chains, plus an aggregate of smaller quick-service restaurants. Chick-fil-A had a score of 83 – the same as in 2024 but still the highest of all the chains. The popular chicken joint is a regional favorite throughout much of the country, finishing first in the South (84) and West (82) and tied for first with Culver's in the Midwest (82). Chick-fil-A's continued dominance comes as the restaurant industry struggles to appeal to consumers. "Consumers frustrated by high prices shifted from big-name fast-food brands to smaller up-and-coming competitors, convenience stores or just stayed home," the ACSI report stated. Not even Chick-fil-A was immune, according to the report. Although Chick-fil-A reported 5.4% sales growth overall in 2024, the report claimed, "that was the slowest growth in at least 20 years as the average unit revenue declined slightly." Chick-fil-A declined to comment on the ACSI rankings and report. Panda Express and Popeyes saw the most growth of all quick-service restaurants with a 4% increase from last year's rankings. Panda Express – tied with Starbucks for second overall – jumped from 77 in 2024 to 80 this year, while Popeyes went from 72 to 75. Papa Johns (79) is the top pizza place on the list, besting Pizza Hut (79), Domino's (78) and Little Caesars (77). KFC had the sharpest decline of all fast-food chains, from 81 last year to 77 this year. "Brands like Wingstop and Raising Cane's are increasing in popularity, putting pressure not only on Chick-fil-A but also KFC, which saw U.S. sales down 5.2% in 2024," the ACSI report said. Last-place McDonald's has dipped 1% since last year to an ACSI score of 70. Fox News Digital reached out to KFC and McDonald's for comment. Here's how each chain fared and its 2025 ACSI score. Chick-fil-A (83) Panda Express (80) Starbucks (80) Arby's (79) Panera Bread (79) Papa Johns (79) Pizza Hut (79) Culver's (78) Domino's (78) Dunkin' (78) Burger King (77) KFC (77) Little Caesars (77) Chipotle (76) Subway (76) Five Guys (75) Popeyes (75) Wendy's (75) Jack in the Box (74) Sonic (73) Taco Bell (73) Dairy Queen (72) McDonald's (70)

Chick-fil-A named America's favorite fast food chain - see who's last
Chick-fil-A has been named America's favorite fast food chain, while McDonald's has suffered a humiliating defeat for the second year in a row. The Georgia-based chicken chain came first in a study analyzing customer satisfaction at more than 20 quick-service restaurants. McDonald's, meanwhile, came in last place for the second straight year. Chick-fil-A scored 83 out of 100 in the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), which takes into account factors such as food quality, order accuracy, and helpfulness of staff. Beaten also by fast food empires like Arby's and Starbucks, McDonald's scored just 70 out of 100. The nation's largest fast-food chain, which has over 14,000 locations worldwide, was also dead last on the 2024 ranking with a score of 71. It comes as McDonald's is facing a sales slump as inflation-weary Americans pull back on spending. It's also in the process of shuttering all CosMc's restaurants just 18 months after launching. Unlike McDonald's, Chick-fil-A has been dominating financially, surpassing $22 billion in annual revenue last year. Panda Express added three points to its satisfaction index, jumping up to a second-place tie with Starbucks, the coffee chain that's undergone massive changes to recover from a dip in sales. Like Starbucks, McDonald's has been changing policies and adding to menu items with hopes of making a financial comeback. A dip in sales at McDonald's hit in 2020 during the pandemic, and performance has been up and down at the chain ever since. An E. Coli outbreak connected to Quarter Pounders , which resulted in one death and dozens of ill customers , hit stocks hard last year. Customer frustration at higher prices also hasn't made the chain's situation any better. Its latest blow was the decision to end its partnership with Krispy Kreme after pausing its donut rollout in May. However, the chain is continuing to look for ways to improve customer satisfaction and traffic, including its highly anticipated return of snack wraps . McDonald's has also extended its operating hours at select locations and plans to open 900 new restaurants by the end of 2027. 'By expanding their workforce, the corporation will be driving investment and setting the standard for industry growth, whether as a launch pad for a different career or as a ladder for internal achievements,' President Donald Trump's Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer said earlier this year. Other restaurant chains that ranked above McDonald's on this year's index have also suffered setbacks in the last several years. Burger King landed in 12th place with 77 points despite a recent North American sales drop and major franchisee's Consolidated Burger Holdings bankruptcy filing . Chipotle's number 15 ranking came after suffering its first sales slump in five years , tying with Subway, a popular sandwich chain that closed over 1,645 locations in two years.

Brands on the list that are still going strong in the US include Culvers, Dunkin', Popeyes, and Taco Bell, ranking 9th, 11th, 18th, and 22nd, respectively.

Indiana State Sen. Bohacek allowed to continue driving while OWI case moves through courts
PORTAGE — Porter County Superior Court 6 Judge Jeffrey Thode granted Indiana District 8 State Sen. Mike Bohacek, R-Michiana Shores, his request to be allowed to continue driving until a decision is reached in his operating while intoxicated case. Thode ordered Bohacek on May 18 to use an ignition interlock device to be installed on his vehicle. That will require Bohacek to blow into a tube for his car to start, but the ignition will not turn if the device detects alcohol on his breath. He's charged in a summons with OWI as a Class A misdemeanor after police stopped him Jan. 24 in Michigan City. Bohacek's alleged blood alcohol level was more than three times the .08 percent limit, but he wasn't arrested right away because the Indiana constitution prohibits state lawmakers from being taken into custody while the Indiana General Assembly is in session, except for treason, a felony or breach of peace. The 2025 legislative session began in early January and ended in late April. Bohacek, a republican from Michiana Shores, represents all of Starke County, most of LaPorte and Marshall counties, and the western edge of St. Joseph County. Thode could have ordered an immediate suspension of Bohacek's license, but he sided with written arguments from defense attorney David Payne that such action would have created 'substantial hardship' on Bohacek and his family. The judge's decision came after he granted a motion from Bohacek to waive his right for an initial hearing in the case. In most cases, defendants appear for their initial hearings and are read their rights and given a verbal explanation of the allegations behind the charges. Defendants are given an opportunity to ask questions before a preliminary plea of not guilty is entered on their behalf by the court. In Bohacek's case, the judge granted Payne's written motion for a preliminary not guilty plea. Thode agreed to preside over the case after all of the judges in LaPorte County recused themselves to avoid any appearance of political impropriety. The Porter County Prosecutor's office is trying the case at the request of LaPorte County Prosecutor Sean Fagan for the same reason. Police were called Jan. 24 to the Panda Express restaurant in the 5200 block of Franklin Street in Michigan City after witnesses described a man stumbling out of his vehicle and appearing intoxicated while ordering food. Officers arrived at the restaurant and were told the man left the restaurant in a 2023 Dodge Charger with an Indiana State Senator license plate attached to it, according to prosecutors, who reported an officer soon saw the vehicle turn right onto U.S. 20. Police stopped him on an accusation of traveling 62 in a 45 miles-per-hour zone, police said. Police described Bohacek as having red, watery and bloodshot eyes, and when asked if he had been drinking alcohol, Bohacek denied it, telling the officer in slurred speech he was coming back from Indianapolis and was short on sleep, according to an affidavit filed with the court. At one point, Bohacek, while still seated in his vehicle, began eating food and consuming a drink but stopped at the direction of the officer, police said. Police said Bohacek later spilled some of his food and beverage over his shirt and pants before refusing a certified roadside blood alcohol test. He was taken to a hospital, where a sample of blood was taken from his arm, police said. The officer gave Bohack a ride home and informed him that a warrant for his arrest would be sought once the legislative session was over, according to a probable cause affidavit, The sample later tested by the Indiana State Department of Toxicology in Indianapolis contained a .283 percent blood alcohol content.

Chick-fil-A and Taco Bell release limited-time menu items ahead of summer
Chick-fil-A and Taco Bell are introducing new, limited-time menu items, just in time for summer. Chick-fil-A is bringing back its Peach Milkshake for a 16th season and introducing a Peach Frosted Lemonade as well. According to Chick-fil-A, the Peach Frosted Lemonade is made with Chick-fil-A Lemonade or Diet Lemonade and peaches, mixed with Chick-fil-A's Icedream dessert, the same base as the Peach Milkshake, which is crafted with Icedream dessert, peaches, whipped cream and a cherry. "There's something about the Peach Milkshake that really feels like the start of summer, and for 16 years, our Guests have expected -- and anticipated -- its return," Allison Duncan, director of menu and packaging at Chick-fil-A, said in a statement. "As we continue to surprise and delight our Guests with new and unique flavors throughout the year, we wanted to offer a spin on the peach taste everyone knows and loves with the Peach Frosted Lemonade. So whether it's a picnic in the park with friends, or a weeknight dinner with family, our Peach treats -- paired with crispy Chick-n-Strips -- are the perfect duo to share a bite and soak up the flavors of summer." According to Chick-fil-A, both summer drinks "will be available for a limited time at participating restaurants nationwide, while supplies last." How to make fast food favorites from Chick-fil-A, Panda Express and more at home Over at Taco Bell, the chain is building on the successful introduction and comeback of Crispy Chicken Nuggets, adding Crispy Chicken Tacos, Crispy Chicken Burritos, Crispy Chicken Strips, a spicy ranchero sauce, and an avocado ranch sauce starting on June 17, available for a limited time. "Crispy chicken is having a moment, but our fans made it a movement," Taco Bell Chief Marketing Officer Taylor Montgomery said in a statement. "So, we decided to bring our sell-out Nuggets recipe to the formats that defined our brand, because true innovation means elevating the icons, not replacing them. We're not like every other chicken spot out there, we're doing crispy chicken the only way we know how: full of flavor and unmistakably Taco Bell." The crispy chicken additions are all under $10, with a Crispy Chicken Taco going for $2.79, the Crispy Chicken Burrito priced at $5.49 and a two-piece Crispy Chicken Strips set for $3.99. Sauces can also be added to menu orders for $0.30 or $0.60 a piece if bought a la carte.
