Param Singh on his short-lived TV comeback: Sometimes projects just don't work

After a hiatus of over three years from the television screen, actor Param Singh made a return with Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin (GHKKPM), which he says was creatively fulfilling for him, but didn't find the success it deserved. The show recently went off air within just four to five months of him joining the cast post leap. Param Singh Talking about returning to TV screen, Param says, 'It was a long break. I wasn't used to working like that for years. But when I got the opportunity to do this character—starting off timid and then transforming completely—I was excited. There was a clear 180-degree shift in the role, and that really intrigued me.' "I didn't want to take up something just for the sake of being on screen. I need to feel connected to the work I do," says Param, adding, "I was being approached for roles, but nothing felt too exciting to pick and work upon. Having said that, even though fans were missing me on TV, I was working on other projects. I did workshops, shot for 2 web series, and more. It's just that the shows I shot for haven't released yet, so people thought I had disappeared." Despite the short run of the show, Param holds no bitterness. 'I had a good time. So no regrets,' he says, adding, 'It was one of those projects that had everything going for it—good writing, a strong team, and a fresh concept. But sometimes good projects just don't work on TV. Nobody really knows why.' The 36-year-old actor also mentions, "The makers had pushed the show to a different time slot, their was no connection of the new characters to the old cast and story line. Their was a visible disconnect that the audience felt." Having said that, Param asserts that no one can predict what will and won't work on television these days. While a lot of actors have often mentioned about choosing roles to just be seen, Param thinks differently. "A lot of actors pick up roles just to maintain visibility, and that's fine. But I've never been that kind of actor. I can't do something just to be seen. There has to be substance for me to say yes." During his time away from daily soaps, he had been offered multiple shows—some of which he accepted, but they too didn't last long. 'There were a couple of interesting ones, but they shut down in three months. I genuinely thought they would work. The concepts were new, the production quality was great, and I believed in them,' he shared. 'But nothing happened. It's disappointing because you invest time and energy, and then it just doesn't take off.' 'It's part of the job. You work hard, give it your all, and sometimes things still don't work. You just move on to the next one,' says Param wrapping up, as he mentions that despite these setbacks, he is focused on working on his craft. Exclusive - Param Singh on Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin wrap-up; says 'I saw it coming as the TRP had been declining, I'm just happy for the journey and everything we achieved during the show'

After completing a successful five-year journey, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin is coming to an end. The cast and crew recently wrapped up shooting for the final day of the show. The show is going off air reportedly because of falling TRP ratings. Even after a generation leap, a new cast, and Bhavika Sharma's return, it couldn't regain its popularity. Param Singh, who entered the show after generation leap, recently spoke exclusively to Times of India TV and shared his thoughts on the show going off-air and the reason behind the decision. Talking about the wrap-up of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin and his final day on set, Param said, "The last day on set felt surprisingly normal and peaceful. Since we had known about the show ending for the past 2–3 weeks, there weren't any emotional breakdowns. Everyone was calm and ready. For me, I was actually excited to finally shave off the beard. Even though it felt sudden, I kind of expected it because the TRP was falling, and the new storylines didn't really connect with the audience. I'm just happy for the journey and everything we achieved during the show." He further shared the reason behind the show going off air, "In my opinion, the lack of connection between characters of previous season and ones after the leap could be a reason. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo In a business driven by trial and error, it's hard to pinpoint a definitive reason behind the conclusion of any project I feel. I think if there was a perfect formula, every show would be a success. Ultimately, emotional investment of an audience is the driving factor of success or failure of any project. " Param Singh also opened up about working with the cast and crew, he said, "It was a fantastic experience in itself. It was amazing to be part of such a dedicated team. Everyone from the actors to the crew worked towards bringing their A-game every single day with unnerving respect and hardworking natures. There was a wonderful sense of camaraderie and bonding off set. It was indeed a lot of fun." Param, who shared great on-screen chemistry with his co-star Bhavika Sharma, opened up about their off-screen bond as well. He said, "It was delightful working with her. She is sweet and genuinely fun-loving as a person. She brings in a vibrant and bubbly energy to the set. Working alongside her was a truly enjoyable experience." While concluding, Param revealed how Savi and Neel's love story will conclude, "Things between Savi and Neil will conclude on a platonic note. As the curtain closes, they are shown making a conscious choice of being friends. Its a sweet and mature ending." Param Singh: I will stay away from social media until it's not hampering my work
