Beloved Actress, 42, Is Unrecognizable in Rare Outing While Flaunting Her Natural Look

Beloved Actress, 42, Is Unrecognizable in Rare Outing While Flaunting Her Natural Look originally appeared on Parade. Legendary actress Erika Christensen, best known for her roles in Traffic and Parenthood, has kept a relatively low profile in recent years. But, this week, the MTV Movie Award winner was spotted during a rare outing in Los Angeles. In photos obtained by The U.S. Sun, Christensen, 42, was seen walking through the city in a sleeveless black knit top and ripped jeans. The iconic actress looked nearly unrecognizable from her early 2000s days, confidently rocking her natural look, including visible armpit hair, while out running errands. Though she's largely stayed out of the spotlight aside from the occasional social media post, Christensen remains one of Hollywood's most accomplished stars. While some may recognize her more recently from Cheaper by the Dozen and Will Trent, Christensen has racked up more than 60 acting credits across her decades-long career. One of her earliest roles came in 1995, when she appeared in Michael Jackson's Childhood music video — though, she never met the King of Pop. "I wish I could have met him, I didn't. We were green screened together,' she once told 'In the video he's sitting in a forest and all the kids are in boats above him. He sent me an autographed photo and that was nice." While her journey in Hollywood began in the '90s, it was her role in Traffic a few years later that gave her widespread acclaim. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 In the Oscar-winning film directed by Steven Soderbergh, Christensen played Caroline Wakefield, a teen struggling with substance abuse. She was just 17 at the time, starring alongside Michael Douglas. Years later, Christensen got the chance to reunite with Soderbergh for the 2022 film Kimi — a full-circle moment she'd long hoped for. 'I just wanted to work with Steven Soderbergh again,' Christensen said to the Seattle Times. 'It was great. It bizarrely felt like no time had passed. But it was so nice to genuinely be an adult, addressing another adult instead of me being a child. He even had some of the same crew that I remembered from 'Traffic.'' She was spotted out and about in LA in a vest top and ripped jeans freely showing off her armpit hair as she reached up to adjust her locks. Going makeup-free, Parenthood star Erika Christensen looked at ease and radiant as she strolled in the sunshine. Mom-of-two Erika currently stars in ABC crime drama Will Trent as the titular dyslexic detective's on/off girlfriend Angie Polaski. She hasn't stopped working for the past three decades with dozens of film, TV and music video credits to her name. Some of her best known work includes the films Swimfan, The Upside of Anger and Flightplan, while on the small screen she's been in The Geena Davis Show and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Her first major role was back in 1995 when she appeared in Michael Jackson's Childhood video, though she never got to actually meet the King of Pop. She once told "I wish I could have met him, I didn't. We were green screened together. In the video he's sitting in a forest and all the kids are in boats above him. He sent me an autographed photo and that was nice." The interview came out ahead of the release of her 2005 rom-com The Upside of Anger where she played the daughter of Joan Allen's character Terry Wolfmeyer. The family drama sees Terry fall for heavy drinking neighbor Denny Davies [Costner] after husband Grey upped and left the family for a life in Sweden with his secretary - though this doesn't end up being the case. Cheaper by the Dozen Official Trailer Erika said at the time, "Kevin Costner and Joan Allen, who does not love Joan Allen? She's fantastic, so cool as a person. "She's our mother, it's about a family, there are four daughters, Alicia Witt, Kerri Russell, Evan Rachel Wood, and myself. It's a great cast and it's written and directed by Mike Binder. He stars in it too. "It's a bunch of us over a period of three years. It's very dramatic and funny. It's really character driven. I'm looking forward to see it so much." Erika was raised a Scientologist in Seattle and has defended the controversial religion in recent years. She opened up about it to her Parenthood co-star Dax Shepard on an episode of his Armchair Expert podcast, explaining her beliefs. She said: "I can justify things in all kinds of different ways, but basically, like, as a Scientologist, and I definitely cannot speak for every Scientologist about anything because everybody has their own beliefs and comes at it from even other religions and all kinds of stuff. 4 Erika Christensen's breakthrough role was in Traffic Credit: Alamy 4 She currently has a lead role in crime drama Will Trent Credit: Getty "However, I don't believe this is the first time I have lived on this planet and I basically think I've probably done absolutely everything before.' The foundation of Scientology is the belief each person is an immortal spiritual being with unlimited potential. Erika poured scorn on Leah Remini's stirring docuseries Scientology and the Aftermath as well as follow up Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief. She said, 'It honestly doesn't have anything to do with anything that I've ever learned about the group or organization. "To be specific about [Going Clear], if somebody has read a book, read Dianetics or some Scientology book and wants to philosophically tell me what they disagree with it, cool. "That is a totally different thing. But, specifically with that documentary, the documentary was based on a book. The book was not even published in some English-speaking countries because the libel laws are stricter than they are here.'

'I kind of missed that window,' he went on, telling Dax, 50, that 'if I did, it wouldn't be you.' In fact, Brad quipped that the Parenthood alum—who is married to —would only be '14th or 15th' on his list if he were to experiment with the same sex, though the comedian responded with some teasing of his own. Asharq Discovery licenses documentary series ‘Parenthood' from All3Media

Driven by Sir David Attenborough's narration, 'Parenthood' captures the high-stakes challenges of animal parenting—from spiders to giraffes, otters to crabs, dolphins to hippos, chimpanzees to lions. Asharq Discovery has acquired the rights to air the new Sir David Attenborough-narrated documentary series Parenthood across the Middle East and North Africa, as part of a wave of international sales secured by distributor All3Media International. Produced by the natural history specialists Silverback Films, known for The Hunt and Ocean with David Attenborough, the five-part series explores the universal challenges of raising the next generation in the wild. Over three years, filmmakers captured intimate stories of animal parenting on six continents, using state-of-the-art 8K cameras to film creatures ranging from giraffes and dolphins to spiders and chimpanzees. Ahead of its premiere on the BBC, Parenthood has also been picked up by broadcasters worldwide. In China, CCTV-9 obtained the first linear rights, complemented by non-exclusive digital agreements across major platforms including iQIYI, Tencent Video, Youku, and bilibili. Warner Bros. Discovery will broadcast the series in select Asian markets, while NHK in Japan, a co-production partner, plans to debut a locally adapted version this summer. Additional buyers include Now TV in Hong Kong, Network Ten in Australia, and TVNZ in New Zealand. Commissioned by Jack Bootle, the BBC's Head of Commissioning for Specialist Factual, the series is produced by Silverback Films with Jeff Wilson serving as Series Producer and Director, Keith Scholey as Executive Producer, and Tara Knowles as Production Manager. Rachel Job, SVP Unscripted at All3Media International, said: 'I'm delighted to see 'Parenthood' leaving its footprint around the world. This groundbreaking documentary delivers must-see viewing, using stunning visuals to immerse audiences in the ever-changing and often dangerous world of animal parenting. Packed with engaging characters and capturing behaviours never seen before, these incredible stories — in combination with the film's powerful, relatable message about investing in future generations and the importance of preserving the natural world — are sure to resonate deeply worldwide.' Narrated by Attenborough, the series presents five hour-long films that reveal dramatic, often perilous efforts by animals to raise their young, offering audiences a vivid glimpse into the devotion and sacrifices that drive life in the wild.

Bryce Dallas Howard had a huge crush on Colin Hanks

Bryce Dallas Howard had "a really big crush" on Colin Hanks. The Jurassic World star has revealed she was smitten with Tom Hanks' son after meeting him on the set of her dad Ron Howard's film Apollo 13 when she was 12 years old and Colin, who was 16 at the time, was working behind the scenes as an assistant. During an appearance on the Podcrushed podcast, she explained: "We all [the family] moved out to Los Angeles for that [ Apollo 13]. I was raised mostly in New York, and I got to be on set as an intern, basically ... "Colin Hanks was on set as a PA. He was 16, and he was working his butt off. He was working really, really, really, really hard. "And they sort of assigned me to him, and I had had a crush on Colin for so long. Like my whole life. My whole life ... "Just any time that I encountered him, I was like: 'Oh my God. Now that's a man'." Bryce added she had "no chance, no shot" with Colin and her director dad knew all about her crush. She said: "My dad knew for sure. For sure. I don't think his dad [Tom Hanks] knew, and I don't think he [Colin Hanks] knew. My dad totally knew ... "Colin, he was a really big crush. A really, really, really big crush." Bryce revealed she was also obsessed with actor Joaquin Phoenix when she was a child and later got a shock when she was cast as his love interest in 2004 film The Village. She said: "I had the biggest crush on Joaquin Phoenix when I was seven years old, and he was Leaf Phoenix, and he was in [1989 movie] Parenthood. "And it was insane being like: 'Oh, you want me to play a character who's been in love with this guy, like, her whole life? Sure'." Bryce went on to reveal she had her first kiss at a performing arts summer camp, saying of the experience but didn't start dating properly until she was 18. She said of her first kiss: "That was a lovely scenario. Didn't ultimately work out, not because of anything other than he's gay. So it was lovely. Everything was great, honestly." A year after Bryce started dating, she met Seth Gabel, who she married in 2006.
