Luuk de Jong sees Rangers talks leaked by PSV as real Patati transfer fee named amid Aribo murmur
Business is ramping up for Russell Martin with the Champions League qualifiers rapidly approaching PSV Eindhoven boss Peter Bosz admits he HAS spoken to Luuk de Jong about Rangers as he looks to keep the veteran striker a the club. Reports in the Netherlands had suggested that the former Barcelona, Newcastle United and Sevilla frontman would be "open" to a move to Ibrox this summer. PSV have returned to training and offered de Jong a new deal and facilities for the close season but the 34-year-old has yet to give his answer over extending his stay in Eindhoven. And Bosz admits he remains in contract with the frontman - with the Scottish Premiership side making it to the agenda during their phone calls. De Telegraaf on murmurs over a move to the Scottish Premiership. The boss said: "He knows that I would really like to keep him. I did talk to him about that on the phone. "I don't want to bombard him with messages. I don't want to tire him with that. "He knows what I think of him, what the club thinks of him. So he knows how much we want to keep him." Maccabi Tel Aviv's 21-year-old winger Weslley Patati has also been floated as a target by reports in Israel with Rangers also pursuing his teammate Dor Turgeman. AZ and the UAE clubs are said to have submitted offers up already to the value of €4m (£3.5m) – but that the Tel Aviv club aren't entertaining that and want €10m (£8.6m) before they'll consider selling him. But former Maccabi star Eyal Berkovic has warned the club they will have to lower their price tag - or face a rebellion from the Brazilian in pre-season. He told 103FM's sports program: "Israel is a transitory place. If Patati receives an offer, Maccabi Tel Aviv has a big problem. "No team will pay ten million euros, and then they are left with a sad player. They need to find the price that everyone will be happy with. "A new contract won't help. Even if today he earns 300-400 thousand euros and you give him 700, he will be sad." "If I am Patati now, and there is an offer for me of €5m (£4.3m) from Girona, I come to Maccabi and say - don't bother me. I stop smiling. Do you want me, a Brazilian, to stop smiling? I am injured, sick, I don't care, I want to go. "How much did they buy him for, €1m? You tripled the money, you quadrupled it, thank you very much." It's one that will catch the eye of Rangers fans - and potentially Russell Martin - with Joe Aribo set to leave Southampton this summer. The Ibrox boss is a big fan of the playmaker from his time at St Mary's and after suffering his second relegation since leaving Ibrox behind in 2022 reports south of the border suggest he will leave in a "cut-price" deal. The 28-year-old is in the final year of his contract and TeamTalk report Saints chiefs are open to offers.

Rangers change tack as they ‘weigh up offer for Dor Turgeman's TEAM MATE' – dubbed the ‘Brazilian magician' by fans
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) RANGERS have been linked with Dor Turgeman for some time now... But a new report claims the Ibrox club are preparing to submit a bid for one of his TEAM MATES. The Israeli national team striker could be available for around £5million but as yet, no official offer has been submitted to Maccabi Tel Aviv. But as progress stalls on that front, a stunning development has seen Russell Martin's recruitment team reportedly change tack - pivoting to Turgeman's Brazilian team mate, Weslley Patati. The 21-year-old has been dubbed the 'Brazilian magician' by fans and media in Israel after scoring 13 goals in 39 games across all competitions for Maccabi Tel Aviv last season, adding a further ten assists. Patati joined the Israeli giants from Santos in his homeland last year in a move worth around £1.2m. He had only made a handful of senior appearances for Santos after coming through their youth system but after an impressive first season abroad, he has attracted the attention of several scouts across Europe and beyond. According to Israeli sports media outlet ONE, Rangers have been monitoring the situation and are now debating lodging a formal bid. Patati reportedly already has interest from clubs in the Netherlands, Spain and England, with AZ Alkmaar of the Eredivisie and Girona of LA Liga mentioned by publications in Israel and South America. Al Ain and Al Wahda of the UAE have also been credited with having made enquiries. Contrary to some other reports here in Scotland, no outlets in South America have reported that Gers are weighing up a move for the winger. Only the report from ONE cites the Light Blues as being interested in the former Santos starlet. New Rangers chiefs Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe's first interview It's reported that Maccabi Tel Aviv have already received offers of around £3m for the winger but they are holding out for at least £5m according to Jogada10 - if not much more. Santos still own a substantial portion of the player's rights, complicating the negotiations. The Brazilian giants still hold 40 percent of Patati's economic rights, effectively meaning they would be due almost half of the final transfer fee. Sport Witness claim Maccabi want the bidding to start at £8.6m, a number that may put him beyond Rangers' reach. Indeed, such a move would make Patati the second-most expensive signing in the club's history. It would also go against the type of approach the new American owners vowed to take in their first year in Scottish football, with Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe both on record as saying they see the Rangers project as a steady build, not an overnight gold rush. Patati can play anywhere across the front line but was particularly used as a right winger, the position vacated by Vaclav Cerny when his loan spell at Rangers expired at the end of the campaign. 4 Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

£8.6m 'Brazilian magician' sparks Rangers transfer swirls as Dor Turgeman teammate 'targeted' for Ibrox move
Brazilian wing wizard Weslley Patati has been linked with a move to Ibrox Reports in Brazil claim Rangers are interested in a Maccabi Tel Aviv forward – but this time it's not Dor Turgeman in the headlines. It's his teammate, 21-year-old Weslley Patati, who has affectionately been dubbed the 'Brazilian magician' by his fans. The Ibrox side have kicked their recruitment drive into life in recent days with Thelo Aasgaard and Emmanuel Fernandez arriving in a £6m double swoop this week. They've also brought in Max Aarons and are closing in on a deal for Conor Coady. But strengthening further up the pitch is also part of the plan. We've heard Jamie Vardy's name mentioned while striker Turgeman is firmly on the radar. However things appear to have taken a twist as multiple reports in South America claim Turgeman's teammate Patati is also an option being pursued. It's claimed the Ibrox side are on a long list of clubs keen on the 21-year-old. AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands, Al Wahda and Al Ain in the UAE and Girona in Spain are all said to be keen alongside unnamed teams in the Premier League and Championship down south. It's added that AZ and the UAE clubs have submitted offers up to the value of €4m (£3.5m) – but that the Tel Aviv club aren't entertaining that and want €10m (£8.6m) before they'll consider selling him. That's due to the fact his former club Santos hold 40 per cent of his rights and would be due a sizeable chunk of whatever Maccabi sell him for. Complicating the situation further is swirling interest in their other striker Turgeman – they don't want to lose both this window and see Patati, who starred last season with 13 goals and 10 assists, as a key figure in softening the blow should Turgeman depart. A product of the famed Santos academy, Maccabi brought Patati in last summer and he's hit the ground running immediately with a stunning debut season that saw him dubbed the 'Brazilian Magician' by adoring fans. He featured right across the forward line, though primarily from the right wing which is exactly where Rangers need to strengthen to replace Vaclav Cerny.
