Bohemians FC debut new Oasis strip with help from Paul Weller
Dublin's Bohemian Football Club have unveiled their new Oasis 2025 FAI Cup jersey - with a little help from Paul Weller. Ahead of the first date of the Manchester band's reunion tour this Friday in Cardiff and the start of the FAI Cup, the northside club, which is based in Dalymount Park, have released the new strip, featuring the Oasis logo in the traditional blue tones of Dublin City. Kneecap pictured with Paul Weller at Bang Bang Cafe in Phibsborough Former The Jam and Style Council front man Paul Weller appears in a promo video for the jersey. The clip was filmed in Cross Guns Snooker Club, a stone's throw from Dalymount, and features Weller as a snooker hall worker, and Bohemian FC player Jordan Flores and ex-player Paddy Kirk playing a frame as Oasis track Married with Children plays in the background. The jersey was made by O'Neill's Sportswear Ireland and designed in-house by Bohemian FC in collaboration with Oasis. All profits from the shirt will be split between Bohemian FC and two charities. 25% will go to Music Generation Ireland to help disadvantaged children across Ireland access music and 25% will go to Irish Community Care Manchester (ICCM), for their work with the Irish community in the city. Bohemian Football Club's Chief Operating Officer Daniel Lambert, who is also the manager of Irish hip hop trio Kneecap, said, "We are delighted to unveil this jersey today following lots of work with the Oasis over the past six months, special thanks to Noel and Liam for supporting this. "To be able to work with Oasis and design a new iconic shirt that will reach fans around the world is special. And to once again have funds going towards such worthy causes, that will assist thousands of people across Ireland and Manchester is brilliant. "As a fan-owned football club and a not-for-profit entity the impact on Bohemian FC will be significant and we are most grateful for the support. I would also like to thank Paul Weller who features in the promotional video and came to Dublin specifically to do so." Kieran McGuinness of Music Generation Ireland said, "Music Generation Ireland are proud and excited to be a beneficiary from this fantastic project and continue our mission to empower children and young people through access to music. "We have worked with Bohemian FC for several years and want to pay a special thanks to Oasis. The opportunity to support young musicians will ensure we get close to our goal of making sure that everyone in Ireland, whatever their background, gets access to music... and just maybe we can help develop the next Oasis!" Patrick Morrison, CEO of Irish Community Care Manchester, added, "The Irish contribution to building Manchester is well recognised, and the city itself has played an important part in raising so many Irish sons and daughters, none more so that the Gallagher brothers. "Sadly, not everyone in the Irish community is as fortunate, that is why ICCM continues to provide vital help to the most vulnerable and disadvantaged from our community. "We pay tribute to Bohemian FC and Oasis for again highlighting the strong and deep connections between Ireland and Manchester, and we are excited to be part of this project demonstrating how music and sport can come together to strengthen a community."

Bohs release teaser video featuring Paul Weller as Oasis collaboration rumours swirl
Bohs have released a teaser video featuring Paul Weller as rumours of a collaboration with Oasis swirl. The video, posted by the Phibsborough club today at 6pm, shows the former Jam and Style Council frontman in Dublin 7, with the caption Tomorrow 11am flashing up on the screen. Weller, 67, is a longtime friend of Noel Gallagher, and a picture of Noel can also be seen behind him. Weller was also spotted at the nearby Bang Bang cafe - which is owned by Bohs' chief operating officer Daniel Lambert - in June, alongside the lads from Kneecap. Minutes before the video was released however, rumours began to circulate online of a potential "Bohasis" partnership after a website URL was found. The site is currently empty, displaying just a black and blue screen when you click onto it. Bohs have previously released various shirts down through recent years in partnership with Dublin bands Thin Lizzy, Aslan, and Fontaines DC. The news comes as soundchecks and rehearsals have kicked off for the first of the Oasis reunion gigs at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. As sunshine flooded across the Welsh capital, sounds of Cigarettes and Alcohol were heard blasting out of the venue in preparation for the band's first gigs in 16 years. Tickets for the Oasis reunion sold out across all venues due to huge demand when they went online earlier in the year. However, there are still several options available for fans trying to snag a last-minute spot. Limited last-minute tickets can be bought from the official Ticketmaster resale site, where fans who can no longer go sell their seats, although these tend to go into and out of stock quickly. Noel Gallagher and Pete Doherty are ego-free and fantastic – it's crap rockers who are c***s', says Britpop legend
THEY were both notorious hellraisers with prickly reputations in their 20s as they embraced rock 'n' roll debauchery. But, now in middle age and their reputations as great songwriters secured, Oasis 's Noel Gallagher and The Libertines' Pete Doherty are ego-free, according to Ocean Colour Scene's Steve Cradock. 6 6 6 Guitarist Cradock, 55, who has also played with Paul Weller since the early 90s, is pals with both musicians and lifted the lid on what they're really like behind the headlines. Speaking exclusively to The Sun from his home ahead of the band's performance at Godiva Festival, he said: " He [Noel] plays guitar on a track on Find El Dorado actually - Paul's covers album - so I saw him there. We text occasionally. It's lovely. I love Noel. He's an incredible writer. I can't say that enough, he's fantastic." Cradock will be heading to see Oasis this summer with his sons, Sunny and Cass, and feels like the newly-reformed group "deserve to be the biggest band in the world again". Even though Ocean Colour Scene knocked Oasis's Be Here Now off the top of the UK album chart in 1997 with their third album Marchin' Already, Cradock acknowledges his band didn't have the same cultural impact as the Gallagher brothers. "Oasis changed the whole country," says Cradock. " The Beatles did that. I think maybe The Jam did that. Maybe the two-tone label did that. Maybe Arctic Monkeys had done that. We're just a group from Birmingham who were around at that time. "Oasis changed the way people dressed and they had such incredible characters, you know, Noel and Liam. Liam was just a one-off and they broke the f**king mold, I think. And, you know, good on them." Meanwhile Doherty, who now lives a quiet life in a small French seaside town with his wife Katia de Vidas and their daughter Billie Mae, two, recently joined Ocean Colour Scene on stage to sing backing vocals. "He's always lovely, Pete Doherty," says Cradock. "I like him a lot and he seems to be a fan of the group and always has been apparently. "He's just lovely, and I'm pleased he's managed to get himself straight, you know. "It's the people who are no good who end up being c**ts to me because they have to be, don't they? They've got to have it. I don't know, I don't want to get into psychology or anything but most people I meet are really lovely people, really nice." Though he was immersed in the raucous Britpop scene that preceded Doherty's rise to indie stardom in the early noughties, Cradock managed to come through the wild parties relatively unscathed. He admits he was never on "Pete's level" but says "the 90s were very hedonistic so we've all had our moments. But that sort of bullsh*t, when you see people who pass through all that rock and roll death, it's all just bullsh*t man." When asked if the pair have big egos, Cradock delivered an emphatic no, saying: "No I don't think there is. Most people are really lovely." Classic rock fans can also breathe a sigh of relief that Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant is another music hero with no airs or graces. The Whole Lotta Love singer features on Weller's upcoming album and Cradock says he turned up ready and willing to work like a regular session musician. "He was prepared for it, like a working musician, not a rock god," he says. "He was humbling and he played some beautiful harp. Then we asked if he would sing and he sang and it was just like, 'wow'." Mod fan Cradock rejoiced in hearing Plant's tales from his days before superstardom, particularly how he played a role in a notorious battle between two subcultures on the south coast. 6 6 "He told me he left the Black Country in '64 on his hand-painted Lambretta, went down to Hastings and got involved in the mods and rockers fight and then drove back on his Lambretta. "It blew my mind the fact that you've got this sort of rock icon who was originally a mod fighting the rockers. "He was a gentleman and he's a great singer and he's really tuned in to what's happening in that moment you know, a true professional, a G. He's a f***ing G." Music fans can hear Plant do his thing when the record is released on July 25. Godiva Festival takes place at Coventry's War Memorial Park July 4-6 6
